The sweet sibling of MasterChef, Dessert Masters, is back for 2024, and a collection of talented chefs have stepped into the kitchen for the chance to take out the top spot as our ultimate dessert master. That means, we’ll have to watch on as all but one of the 10 Dessert Masters contestants are eliminated along the way.
Returning judges Amaury Guichon and Melissa Leong will be critiquing the work of our dessert-loving chefs until we land on a winner — who will eventually walk away with a grand prize of $100,000.

Who has been eliminated from Dessert Masters 2024?
Reece Hignell and Jana Lai – November 18 elimination
Audiences were shocked by another double elimination on November 18. And after a moving story-inspired challenge, both Reece Hignell and Jana Lai were eliminated from the Dessert Masters competition.
On his journey through Dessert Masters, Reece said he felt “really honoured that I got to show off a lot of stuff that I like to make and what I like to do back home. Of course, to work with you guys has been a dream, and these people, they already know what they mean to me. I’ve had such a blast.”
Jana shared, “I think I’ve cried enough tears today, but it was an amazing experience; I took so much away from it – from all these people, [I took away] some awesome friendships as well. And I can’t wait to see the final!”
Only three remain now as we power towards the 2024 Dessert Masters final. Good luck to Christy, John and Emelia!
Alisha Henderson and Darren Purchese — November 17 elimination
Sunday, November 17, brought a double elimination for Dessert Masters 2024, and sadly, we said goodbye to both Alisha Henderson and Darren Purchese.
The challenge this time around was to create a dish inspired by bubbles. Darren’s dish ‘Careless Whisper’ was a blood orange and chocolate-based creation, and although it didn’t keep him in the competition, he shared with Ten that, “I don’t think I could have done anything more.”
“Regardless of any outcome, if you go on there and cook something and you push yourself to the very limit and do the very best you can, you can’t ask any more than that.”
Alisha, however, shared that she knew her crumpet-inspired dish wouldn’t be enough to save her from Dessert Masters elimination.
“It was definitely a dish that, as a concept, sounded way better in my head. But when it was executed, in a competition with the calibre that it had, it wasn’t going to be enough,” she told Ten.
Daniel Pasquali — November 11 elimination
Former Great Australian Bake Off runner-up Daniel Pasquali was eliminated during a challenge to recreate one of Amaury’s chocolate dishes.
Daniel and Reece were in the bottom two. Amaury told Daniel that his dish “lacked refinement” and said that the technique he used on the gold leaf on the dessert “fell short”, which caused him to be eliminated.
Donato Toce – November 4 elimination
Donato was the second chef eliminated from Dessert Masters 2024. He was eliminated after making a sundae with a scone-flavoured gelato and crumb, blueberry gelato, and a Chantilly cream topped with homemade sprinkles.
While the judges loved Donato’s creation, they said that his dish didn’t fit the brief of ‘scones with jam and cream’.
Katherine Sabbath – October 28 elimination
Katherine Sabbath was the first contestant eliminated during a smoke and mirrors Mystery Box challenge. She prepared a gorgeous sand castle cake, however, the Dessert Masters judges said that it lacked flavour.
