Married at First Sight (MAFS) star Domenica Calarco announced she’s expecting her first child in September, writing on Instagram, “Been a little MIA working on my greatest project yet… Baby.” However, fans quickly questioned why her partner, Jarod Bogunovich, wasn’t mentioned in the pregnancy update.
Domenica confirmed shortly after that she and Jarod had broken up, and he has now broken his silence on their co-parenting plans.
What did Jarod Bogunovich say about his pregnancy with Domenica Calarco?
Domenica took to Instagram to share some insight into her pregnancy on March 17 and said she’ll be “welcoming this baby as a solo parent”.
Meanwhile, Jarod remained tight-lipped about his role in the pregnancy until now. The Sydney skater took to Instagram on March 19 to confirm his split with Domenica and said he will play an active role in the baby’s life.
“As most of you already know, Dom and I are officially separated,” he wrote alongside an ultrasound video.
“Moving forward, my main priority is our child and stepping into the role of a father with as much love and support as I can offer. I’m committed to co-parenting and ensuring my child’s well-being is always at the forefront.”
Jarod asked for privacy as he gets ready “for this next journey ahead.”
Domenica Calarco and Jarod Bogunovich’s break up
Both Domenica and Jarod have officially announced that they’re no longer together and will be co-parenting their child.
The couple hard-launched their romance back in September 2024, when Domenica introduced Jarod to the world with a sweet Instagram post captioned “Bit of life #updates,” showing the two looking cosy at a restaurant.
The couple provided regular social media updates about their relationship until earlier this year. They’re still following each other on Instagram, but Jarod hasn’t been seen in a photo on Dom’s Instagram grid since December 2024 or on her TikTok since January 2025, which led to the (now confirmed) speculation that they’d split.
Domenica first hinted at the breakup in a TikTok comment on Sasha Morpeth‘s video on March 14, who shared a clip with the caption, “reconnecting with nature because I had launched a guy, and it was over before the IG story expired.”
Domenica has commented underneath it, saying, “Join the club babes, argh.”
Dom reveals tough pregnancy conditions
Since announcing her baby news, Dom has uploaded some content from earlier in her pregnancy, revealing she had to go to hospital during her first trimester after developing thyroid issues.

Dom elaborated on her thyroid condition in an AMA session on Instagram and said she went to the hospital twice during her first trimester when her thyroiditis flared up so that the baby could be monitored.
“I lost six kilos and feel like a shell of myself right now, so [I’m] trying to put on weight and eat as much as I can while I still don’t really have an appetite.”
