MAFS 2025 Episode 20 Recap: Paul's confession shocks the experiment

Will he get kicked out of the experiment?

What we learned about Paul in this Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 episode isn’t okay. Violence and reactive behaviour are inexcusable, and trying to justify them in any way is deeply problematic.

These MAFS recaps are generally light-hearted and sarcastic, and the intention is not to minimise the seriousness of what Paul did. With that being said, let’s recap.

Paul’s MAFS confession

Paul and Carina slept separately after he punched their apartment door. He visited Carina to apologise for his behaviour and had the audacity to say that the things she was doing and saying on the night led to his reaction.

This is basically abuser-logic 101. Speaking of…

“That’s never going to happen again,” Paul tells her. I don’t think I need to unravel this statement. It should have never happened in the first place.

Seeing “wellness advisor” come up with his name as he cries to the camera about his actions is the most ridiculous thing. He is the last person we should be taking wellness advice from.

Pre-dinner party energy

Lauren‘s hair is really high tonight.

Her ex-husband, Eliot, is trying to reason with Veronica after she minimsed his trauma in the last episode.

She does not appreciate him “inciting an argument,” which is far too proper a phrase for me to hear at 7:30 p.m.

“Enjoy your last dinner party,” Eliot tells her as she walks out. Audible gasp and pride all in one radiating out of me right now.

The MAFS dinner party chaos

At the dinner itself, Paul jumps right in to tell everyone what he did. There is serious shock and disappointment in the room from the MAFS cast; however, for something so serious, it really was glazed over.

I hope the experts school him so that viewers understand the severity of this way of thinking and behaving.

Adrian tells the table that he has, in fact, gone out for a “nice dinner” with Awhina. To Nando’s! Why does Sierah get a meat plate, and Awhina gets the budget protein?

Morena tells everyone that Tony wishes he were with child. Tony tells Morena her personality gives him “the shits”. Same, sometimes.

Jacqui thinks Rhi has broken the “rules of humanity” by bringing up Jacqui’s message to Jeff on the Commitment Ceremony couch.

Aren’t the couples meant to talk about their MAFS 2025 week with the experts? Jacqui impacted her week and relationship. Not Rhi’s fault.

Eliot tells the table how Veronica was frustrated with his confession letter. “So my pain isn’t good enough? That’s what it felt like,” he explained.

BUT HOW DID IT MAKE YOU FEEL!!!! Image: Nine.

We should never devalue or minimise someone’s struggles. It’s all relative. I’m actually very here for this Eliot redemption arc.

Veronica sure is making it easy for him.
