The MAFS stars boycotting the reunion: 'I was never going to walk into a bloodbath twice'

"The producers and directors begged me to go," one star claimed.

It’s nearly the best time of year for Married at First Sight (MAFS): the reunion, of course. As we gear up for the dramatic event which kicks off on Sunday night, we already know a few things.

Only one original couple shows up hand-in-hand, there’s a brand new couple (Jacqui Burfoot and Clint Rice, of course), and it looks as though Sierah Swepstone is ready to drop a dramatic bombshell.

Numerous cast members have now told Chattr the reunion is ‘crazy’ and ‘chaotic’, and it turns out some people will miss out on all the drama, refusing to show up to the reunion dinner or final sit down with the experts.

Here’s what we know so far.

The MAFS participants who aren’t going to the reunion

Morena Farina

The DJ and mum of two told Chattr she had no regrets about not attending the reunion. “Regrets serve no purpose, I was never going to walk into a bloodbath twice, once was enough,” she said. “The producers and directors begged me to go, but there was no chance I’d attend. I was matched with a married man. Why would I go to a reunion for that? The entire situation was ridiculous.”

Lauren Hall

Lauren Hall also decided to pull out of the reunion, with Clint Rice confirming to Chattr that she was meant to attend but changed her mind.

“Yeah, she said she wasn’t going [to the reunion], and then we did speak a bit when the wedding went air,” Clint said.

“I called Lauren the night after the Dinner Party reunion and told her that Jacqui and I were together and she was very supportive. But yeah, I’ve not much more to say about that.”

Tim Gromie

It’s probably no surprise controversial groom Tim Gromie won’t be returning to reunite with Katie Johnston. Remember when that was all the biggest drama on the show? Those were the days.

Jake Luik

And speaking of grooms ditching the reunion, while Jake’s “ex-wife” Ashleigh Ackerman was spotted in the reunion trailer, Jake was nowhere to be seen.

The MAFS reunion will air on Channel Nine and 9Now on Sunday at 7pm and Monday at 7:30pm.
