Jamie Marinos and Dave Hand made Married At First Sight (MAFS) fans very happy last night when they left Final Vows hand in hand, but already rumours are rife that the two haven’t made it work in the outside world.
Starting out as one of MAFS’ strongest couples before hitting some roadblocks, Jamie told Chattr that she had concerns going into Final Vows after Feedback Week and Homestays had the couple’s relationship on “life support”.
MAFS’ Jamie on her and Dave’s relationship status
“I won’t talk about our experience after filming,” Jamie said, when asked by Chattr what happened for the pair post-Final Vows. “But unfortunately Dave and I weren’t like the other couples during homestays where we fully embraced each other’s lives. We were on life support essentially, so we didn’t actually have the opportunity to know what it’s like to be in each other’s lives.”
“[After Final Vows] I was looking forward to having an opportunity to work through things privately and see where they actually land.”

While Jamie didn’t confirm or deny if the two were still together, she did have a laugh about some of the rumours she’s read about herself. When asked if she arrived to the reunion solo, Jamie could only laugh.
“I can’t tell you anything about that. They [the media] also said I was like pregnant weeks back!” she said.
MAFS’ Jamie’s thoughts on some of the cast going rogue: ‘The edits are pretty bang on’
If there’s one thing that’s been very different on this season of MAFS, it’s the amount of people on the cast who have gone against Channel Nine’s usual protocol and started using alternate social media accounts to get their viewpoints across.
From Jacqui Burfoot’s business Instagram account page to Eliot Donovan and Adrian Araouzou‘s rogue TikTok accounts, some cast members have been quick to try to get their version of events across as storylines have played out across our TV screens.
Jamie, who has dealt with all publicity through Channel Nine, says she can understand why people want to go rogue but also believes it has damaged the credibility of some.
“Initially, I understand you want to give context, but the edits are pretty bang on,” she said. “You’re missing context sometimes and I get trying to get your point across but you end up looking worse because you don’t stop.”

MAFS’ Jamie on the villain edit and what to expect from the reunion: ‘We all passed the baton’
One of the most intriguing things about this season of MAFS was there wasn’t one clear-cut villain the whole series, something Jamie said people asked her about when the series first started airing.
“That’s what I was trying to explain to people, they’d be like ‘oh is he the villain’ and I’m like, ‘Oh surprise, we actually pass around the baton on who could be the worst person each episode!'” she siad.
“Like, I’ve never watched a season of MAFS where everyone has a turn being an asshole,” she continued. “Even myself and Dave. Like Dave, was the notorious good guy who became public enemy number one, and I pissed off all the Karens by barking at Carina; it was just insane. Everyone got backlash at some point.”
As for the upcoming MAFS reunion, Jamie had this to say: “For everyone who’s been watching our entire series, you can see this season’s been wild, like, you can’t trust us. Of course, it’s going to be chaos.”
Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
