As we mourn the end of Married at First Sight (MAFS) on our TV screens, we have a little while longer to wait when it comes to our favourite star’s doing Instagram AMAs.
Famously, Channel Nine controls the cast’s social media accounts from the moment the show airs and usually doesn’t relinquish its grip until the series stops airing in the UK.
So when do we get to see the participants take control of their social media again?
MAFS’ Jamie reveals when the 2025 cast get their Instagram and TikTok accounts back
Jamie Marinos told the Stav, Abby & Matt Show that the cast won’t get their Instagram and TikTok accounts back until May, saying anyone currently active on their original personal accounts has “hacked” the system.
“The people who have got it [social media] back, are the people who have hacked in,” Jamie said. “So my ex-husband [Dave Hand], who has hacked in to post thirst traps, Jacqui [Burfoot] has been going rogue, my new love interest Eliot [Donovan] has always had a separate account,” Jamie then laughed.
The reason why MAFS stars don’t get their accounts back straight away
“You gotta wait until it finishes airing in the UK,” Jamie confirmed. “It’s actually a really good duty of care, imagine how many people would be messaging, like, Adrian [Araouzou] that they hate him.”
Jamie also said Channel Nine doesn’t go into the participants’ accounts, with DMs disabled, and social media posts all managed via a third-party app.
Which MAFS stars are active on social media right now?
As Jamie mentioned, there’s been a few MAFS stars go rogue this season, most notably Jacqui, Eliot, Adrian, and Ryan who have all regained some control over their own narratives as the show has aired.
Morena Farina also used her DJ account to get her story across, and participants like Lauren Hall apparently never handed over access in the first place.
Dave, Veronica [Cloherty], and Clint [Rice] are all people who managed to get back into their original accounts, with Clint telling Chattr: “I was literally just there one night. I was on my TikTok on my other account. And I was like, Oh, I might just try and add my other one. I added it, then I used my face ID and opened it and I was in!”
