While we’ve all been low-key in love with Dave Hand on Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025, some cheeky rumours are starting to swirl about his real personality outside the show. Could he just be on MAFS for fame? It wouldn’t be the first time!
Woman’s Day recently reported that Dave actually applied for Abbie Chatfield’s show FBoy Island not long after calling it quits from his ex-fiancée.
He was believed to have been in a relationship with Stephanie Jaksch for three-and-a-half years, but the couple called it quits after a year of being engaged.
“They split, and as we all find out, he went straight on to apply to go on reality TV,” one of Stephanie’s pals claimed.
“Applications for FBoy Island closed around the time of their split in November 2023.”
We all know that Dave had a big social media presence before MAFS, with his @siliconevalleycaulking TikTok account going viral a few times.
An insider tells Chattr it’s possible that Dave was on MAFS for the limelight.
“Dave had an on screen and off screen persona,” they spill. “He would be friends with everyone backstage but then yell during the Dinner Parties.”
Dave’s ex was blindsided by his MAFS appearance
According to Stephanie’s friend, Dave’s ex was stunned to see him on MAFS.
“The advertising started and the grooms were revealed — that’s when Steph found out,” the source claimed.
“No one wants to hear that their ex-fiancé is getting married, let alone have that happen on national TV!”
While we weren’t able to get in touch with Stephanie directly, her friend told Woman’s Day that she’s over the “‘good guy’ narrative” he’s been given on MAFS.
“Dave wasn’t ready for a serious relationship with Steph. That was very clear when they broke up. It is hard to imagine much had changed in the months between separating from her and going on MAFS,” Stephanie’s pal spilled.
Considering an insider told Chattr that Dave wasn’t into his MAFS wife Jamie Marinos from the honeymoon, perhaps he’s really not the big green flag we all thought.
“It was obvious Dave never was into Jamie and just went along and led her along for the entire show. He even said yes at Final Vows,” the source said. “Afterwards Jamie broke up with him because she knew he was leading her on.”
With the partner swap challenge happening this week, the next few episodes are going to be a wild ride!
Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
