Religious Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 bride Carina Mirable has seen her family come under scrutiny for their beliefs and customs, but she’s finally snapped. After some trolls began to share negative comments on MAFS social media posts about her mother and their religion, she responded on her business Instagram account @by.mirab.

She tells Chattr it was “hard to see” people tear down her mother, and didn’t appreciate people likening their religion to a “cult”.

“My mum by nature is a welcoming person, and welcomed everyone into our home whether it was a friend from school [or] uni, or friend of a friend. Our home became the place everyone hung out at,” she says.

“There [are] a lot of dysfunctional families in Australia — and not stating I’m privileged by all means — but a lot of people are raised not knowing what a real bond with family is like, especially what a mother is. If anything viewers should be admiring and wanting to represent the similar values and morals for their future households or children,” Carina adds. “Her job as a mother is to make sure her children feel loved and secure.”

The bride has been through a wild ride on MAFS, with her husband Paul Antoine punching a wall after an argument before calling her a “snob”. Somehow, they managed to get through all the hurdles — until he chose to meet his alternative MAFS match, which Carina considered cheating.

While Carina didn’t disclose everything to her mother during filming, the bride said she was still extremely supportive.

“I didn’t tell her the extent of everything while I was filming the weeks as it was highly emotional and challenging and [the] schedule was really busy! But when I was able to call her I spoke [about it],” she explains.

“She was [supportive] and she just wanted the best for me as any parent does.”

What did MAFS’ Carina say on Instagram about her mother and online trolls?

Carina shared a clip of her mum on MAFS with a lengthy caption, referencing those who had been saying cruel things online about her family.

“To all the randoms saying negative comments about my mother. You came into this life due to your mum. No one should ever shame our mothers, in person, face to face or even as a keyboard warrior,” she wrote.

“My parents tried to install [beliefs] and spirituality in our lives growing up, huge part of growth and our life journey; give guidance and a sense of belonging and community. It’s not a cult.”

She went on to defend having religion, saying it’s what “helps pave your future” and claimed many successful and powerful people have “spirituality and beliefs”.

“Don’t shame as there’s already enough hate in this world,” she finished.

She didn’t give any hints about what happens tonight at Final Vows, but hopefully she goes rogue on her business account afterwards to give us more tea!
