We did it, everyone! We survived another chaotic season of Married at First Sight 2025 (MAFS), and we all deserve a margarita, a valium, and a massage, but not particularly in that order.
Last night’s MAFS finale saw the participants have one last couch session with the experts as they rewatched their journeys. There were tears, laughter, arguments, and one “I love you” exchange, with Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels finding their happily ever after.
One of the big TV moments was, of course, Jacqui Burfoot taking to the couch one final time with her ex, Ryan Donnelly, as she was quizzed about her new relationship with intruder groom Clint Rice. While we know in real-time that Jacqui and Clint just got engaged, during the finale episodes Jacqui revealed her plans to move to Tasmania with him after just a few weeks of dating, much to the shock of the wider group.

Combined Communications Specialist and Body Language Expert Scott Taylor has been commentating on MAFS this season and doesn’t quite buy into Jacqui and Clint’s relationship. He told Chattr earlier this week that he didn’t believe the pair were in a “true relationship”.

Scott has unpacked the finale episode, calling out Jacqui and Clint’s love story as being rehearsed. “They have scripted together the story of bonding over negative experiences and the rehearsed content comes in 5-6 word clusters,” Scott told Chattr.
Interestingly, Scott also pointed out one moment between Ryan and Clint that others may not have picked up on.
“As Ryan said, ‘I was living with her when you spoke to her’, at the back of the scene Clint said, ‘Yep’ and nodded.”
Scott also pointed out how Jacqui tried to argue with Ryan until he said “I still have the text messages” and Jacqui then jumped to saying “I’m sick of this” as a way to shut the argument down.
As Jacqui and Ryan’s story played out for everyone, Scott said Clint showed “discomfort indicators as Jacqui’s behaviours rolled in”.
“Ryan showed escalating frustration,” Scott said, pointing out Ryan’s jaw tension. “[And] when Jacqui doesn’t have conversations go to her script, her anger rises.”
Scott also discussed the moment Clint said he saw no problems with Jacqui’s behaviour after her and Ryan’s montage rolled out.
“No alarms about Jacqui’s conduct shows the fakeness of their connection as I’ve mentioned earlier,” Scott said. “That’s not connection blindness. That’s a conscious choice to not discuss it, purely for protecting the relationships image as he showed lots of [signs of] discomfort as he saw her behaviours.”
