What a ride on Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025. Sierah Swepstone and Billy Belcher were giving us some major whiplash during the Episode 17 commitment ceremony.

Basically, everything started with Sierah’s “plate of meat” dinner with Adrian Araouzou where she says she found it easier to talk to him than Billy. The whole thing left Billy blindsided and wasn’t great for Adrian’s wife, poor Awhina Rutene, either.

At the MAFS commitment ceremony, Sierah apologised to Awhina for not being open about it to her, while Billy sat there dumbfounded that he wasn’t getting even the tiniest of “sorries” for himself.

Sierah still insisted that “nothing happened between Adrian and I,” but when the MAFS 2025 experts asked if she feels a connection with Adrian and finds him easy to talk to, she quickly admitted, “for sure.”

Meanwhile, Adrian was just as quick to clarify his connection with Awhina was stronger. Which is nice, I guess?

Then came Billy’s turn.

He got quite the scolding from the experts for his “wife swap” proposal to Adrian. He apologised for it but soon followed up saying he’d gotten “sweet F-A” from Sierah in their relationship, who, despite his best efforts, wouldn’t open up to him. He also admitted he didn’t feel like himself anymore.

With that, both chose to leave.

But wait, there’s more!

After talking things through post-decision, Sierah suddenly regretted writing “leave.” “Now that we’ve sat here and spoken like this, I wish we could stay,” she said.

Billy, however, stuck to his guns, saying, “I don’t regret my decision”.

The experts summed it up by saying they’d had a “breakthrough as two humans, not necessarily as a couple.” I guess you take what wins you can get?

The whole thing was confusing as hell and fans had plenty to say about their exit.  Here are some of the best reactions to Sierah and Billy calling it quits on MAFS… or whatever that was.

Many backed Billy

Sierah seriously copped it

Literally no one likes Adrian
