Is she... coming back?

Belle Gibson's Instagram account when it was active before the scandal

Belle Gibson‘s Instagram account disappeared after she was outed for her cancer scam, but now, a decade on from the scandal, it appears it’s been re-activated.

Belle Gibson launched her Instagram account @Healing_Belle back in 2012. On the platform, she shared her so-called “cancer journey” with her followers and documented her holistic approach to fighting the disease she claimed she had.

Over the years, Belle racked up hundreds of thousands of followers and even released an app and a cookbook called The Whole Pantry. The concept behind all her outlets was that it was possible to treat cancer through diet changes.

However, in 2015, it was revealed that Belle never actually had cancer. After articles outed her scam, Belle came clean during a 60 Minutes interview with Tara Brown.

When Belle’s cancer scam started to unravel, she swiftly disappeared from Instagram and has stayed out of the public eye since the 60 Minutes interview.

However, now that her shocking story has been revealed in the mini-series Apple Cider Vinegar, which has made it to Netflix’s top 10 shows globally, it appears that her original account has popped back on Instagram.

Is it Belle Gibson’s real and original account on Netflix?

A TikToker made the discovery of the return of Belle’s Instgram account in late February, and it appears that the account is the same one that Belle used when she was sprucing her fake cancer.

“Guys, Belle Gibson has reactivated her Instagram accounts. @Healing_Belle has surfaced and I can show you this is not a fake account,” TikToker Charlotte Scott began in the clip.

Charlotte showed her followers that Jess Ainsley‘s account —who the Apple Cider Vinegar character Milla Blake was loosely based on and who was frenemies with Belle IRL — follows @Healing_Belle.

Jess passed away from cancer in 2015 at the age of 29. Charlotte went through Jess’s Instagram friends and found Belle’s original page, which means she would have followed her before she died. You can read more about the true story behind Apple Cider Vinegar here.

Charlotte goes on to show that the tagged photos section of the reactivated @Healing_Belle account has posts from Jess.

While Belle doesn’t have any photos on her grid, it has been gaining followers since the reactivation. She went from having 126 thousand followers on February 4 to 129 thousand followers on February 28.

So, while it certainly appears as though it’s Belle’s original account, there’s no information to prove that it was Belle who reactivated it.

We won’t be giving it a follow, that’s for sure.
