Move over, Australian Survivor: Brains v Brawn II, because new Survivor: Australia v The World goss has just dropped! Mothers Shonee Bowtell and Parvati Shallow have joined forces during a podcast episode, and they’ve spilled some serious information about what’s to come when it hits screens in July.
Shonee has long been known as the “Australian Parvati” due to her strategic and social prowess, so fans are super excited to see if these two will join forces in an epic alliance.
During an appearance on Parvati’s podcast Nice Girls Don’t Win, the pair seem to be pretty chummy, so fingers crossed they link up on the show.
When Parvati’s co-host Amy Bean asked the pair what makes them similar players, both Shonee and Parvati provided some insight.
“People always say ‘Australian Parvati’ to me,” Shonee revealed. “I don’t watch American Survivor, but I have seen some of [Parvati’s] YouTube shorts and I think the interesting thing that people think about me is that I play, and I’m not very serious.
“I do it in a lighthearted way and then also people look at me and think, ‘Oh she won’t be able to do that’, but then I actually can. Like doggy paddle and hold my arm out for two hours, I can win Individual Immunity. And I think obviously Parvati is very strong.”

Parvati said Shonee was “underselling” herself, and called her “so sharp”.
“I’m just remembering our conversation that we had on Australian Survivor and and I obviously can’t go into detail about it but it was so brilliant on your part, the way that you were having this conversation, it seemed so [casual], and so chill, but it was so calculated and really, really strategic,” Parvati said.
Shonee reveals ‘very hard’ side of competing on Survivor: Australia v The World
When Shonee was approached to go on Australian Survivor, her son Vally was just four months old. She didn’t expect to ever play Australian Survivor again, but her partner convinced her.
“My partner was like, we can all go and it can be a memory — it’s like work as well, and also life is for living,” she recalled.
“It still makes me sad to think about it because it was very hard but… I wanted to be able to watch the show with Vally and be like, you were there in Samoa [with me]. It was really hard but I did it.”

Parvati competed on American Survivor Season 40 when her daughter was just 10 months old, so she resonated with Shonee’s tough decision.
“If you’re asked to go play these games and you can as a mum, I think it’s really important to say yes and do the thing that’s yours to do,” Parvati said. “You have to show that to yourself first and foremost that you still are an independent woman, you’re still yourself… and then you’re showing your kid, look, this is what life is about.”
We’re so glad that both Parvati and Shonee made the trip to Samoa and can’t wait to see them on screen!
Australian Survivor Australia v The World will air on Channel 10 and 10Play.
