Host Jonathan LaPaglia has teased some new twists on Australian Survivor 2025 this year, but could one of them be a secret sibling reveal?
The official Australian Survivor Facebook account shared a clip of Laura and Jesse revealing that they have the same last names.
During a producer-led interview, Laura, who goes by her last name Noonan, spoke about her family being well known in Mornington Penisula because her dad’s a horse trainer and her brother is an actor. The camera then cuts to Jesse introducing himself to the Brawn tribe.
“My name is Jesse Noonan, I’m a professional skateboarder,” he tells the group.

Laura’s shock is written all over her face as she tells the camera, “What an absolute stitch up, learning that Jesse’s last name is also Noonan. I instantly was so angry.”
“I was excited to be the only Noonan here,” she continued.
When Jesse joked to Laura about sharing the same surname, she said that she didn’t want to talk about it and added that it was a “sensitive subject.”
Jesse then declared that Laura could be his “long lost sister”, to which she cryptically replied that she “wouldn’t be surprised.”
So, is it just a coincidence that Jesse and Laura have the same last name? Or is the scene foreshadowing a sibling twist we’ll find out later in the game?
Nash reveals whether Australian Survivor’s Jesse and Laura Noonan are siblings
While a sibling twist — ala Big Brother Australia 2024 — would be a spicy addition to the Brain v Brawn II season, Nash Gendo has squashed that theory to Chattr.
“They’re not related, no. They’re definitely not related,” Nash laughed.
While the sibling twist may be out the window, Jonathan has teased that viewers can expect some game-changing bombshells this season.
“The challenge department do an incredible job of invention and keeping it fresh. There are a couple old favourites, but most are new or variations of classics,” Jonathan told Chattr.
Producers, if you’re reading this, there’s always next year to introduce a sibling twist.
Australian Survivor airs at 7pm on Sundays and 7:30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays on Channel 10 and 10Play.
