Why didn't Myles steal Logan's Idol? His Survivor Advantage play has left fans baffled

"That would have been an epic move."

The latest Australian Survivor Tribal Council saw Myles Kuah play a potentially catastrophic Advantage, allowing him to steal an Idol from another player.

The episode was foreshadowed by AJ Antonios discovering that Logan Johannisen had an Idol and then teaming up with Myles. This appeared to suggest that AJ would convince Myles to blindside Logan and use her own Idol against her.

However, that wasn’t the case. After Myles informed host Jonathan LaPaglia that he’d be using his Advantage, he turned to Kristin Alston and yeeted her Idol off her, leaving Logan with a smug smile on her face.

Kristin had previously promised her friend Paul ‘PD’ Dee that she’d use the Idol to protect him if need be, but with her power gone, she was unable to do so, and PD was sent packing.

Fans react to Myles’ choice to take Kristin’s Idol

While Myles’ choice to snag Kristin’s Idol certainly made Logan happy, fans have been questioning why he didn’t use the advantage to target a bigger threat, namely by voting Logan out.

“I thought he was going to take Logan’s idol and then blindside her. That would have been an epic move, and I think it would give him a stronger alliance than what he is likely to have now,” one person wrote on Facebook.

“Would love to have seen them blindside Logan. I get, however, that it was a good alliance to break up. Although Kristin will become a vote with the girls for vengeance. Hopefully, Myles can still stir the pot tonight,” another wrote.

A third nutted out a potential scenario that could take place if Myles’ opted to take Logan’s Idol.

“It would take Myles and AJ to vote for Logan; everyone else votes for Paulie [Michael]. Paulie votes PD. Steal Logan’s idol and save Paulie. Logan goes home. Paulie becomes Myles’s ally,” they explained.

However, other viewers saw the strategy behind Myles’ choice.

“I think it was a good move stealing Kristin’s public idol and sending PD home, which no one is going to be upset about except Logan,” One person wrote. “That way, they still have Morgan and Kate [Gloufchis] to turn to their side.”

Another speculated: “I think the tribe seemed to be big fans of an easy consensus boot, and if Myles then pretty much singlehandedly takes out Logan, then everyone is mad at him, and he probably goes next time.”

If there’s one thing for sure, it’s that the game has stepped up on a notch. Bring it on!
