One of the most exciting episodes of Australian Survivor 2025 almost saw the cast go to Rocks to decide who would be eliminated.
Going to Rocks happens when a Survivor jury can’t decide who they want to vote out, so the players without votes take part in a game of chance, and one of those people is eliminated.
There was a split vote between Zara and Logan in episode 19. Logan, Kristin, Morgan and Kate all voted for Zara to go home, and Myles, AJ, Zara and Kaelan voted for Logan.
The split decision meant that Jonathan LaPaglia threatened the castaways that they’d have to go to Rocks if they couldn’t make a unanimous choice.
Logan told her alliance that she didn’t want them to risk their game for her, and the Tribe unanimously decided that she would have her torch snuffed.

Did Kristin, Kate and Morgan know that they could be voted out if they went to Rocks?
At the Jury Villa, Kristin dropped a bombshell that she, Kate and Morgan didn’t actually understand what going to Rocks entailed.
“Kate, Morgan and myself didn’t know what Rocks meant,” she admitted.
“I thought, what happened was, it would go to the split vote, we’d go back and do it again, and then I thought that you and Zara get up and do a fire together, and then I was like ‘you’re going to kick her arse on the fire,'” she explained to Logan.
Kristin was referring to the Fire method, which happens when there’s a split vote between the Final four.
In that scenario, if a unanimous voting decision can’t be made, the players with votes will be given a flint and face off in a fire challenge. The first player to burn through a supplied rope is sent through to the next round — or to the finale in the case of a final 3.

What does Rocks mean on Australian Survivor?
Going to Rocks is a Survivor method that’s used to decide who will leave when there’s a deadlock on votes.
You can find a more in-depth explanation about Going to Rocks here. However, in short, if a vote comes out in a tie, the players will be required to re-vote on the people it’s split between. Those castaways who already have a vote cast against them won’t be able to take part.
If another tie results, the tribe needs to make a unanimous decision about who’s going home. If they can’t, the players who received votes are safe, and each of the safe castaways will blindly pull a rock from a bag. The contestant who pulls the odd-coloured rock is sent home.
So, Kristin, Morgan, and Kate could have unknowingly risked their own game if they had stayed with their original votes against Zara.
