Australian Survivor is a game of strategy. The cast must form strong relationships — otherwise known as alliances — to ensure they won’t be voted off by their fellow castaways at Tribal Council.
To do this, the contestants form (usually secret) alliances, essentially teams that protect each other and vote together to eliminate their competitors.
While these groups of people often form and adapt throughout the season, Episode 1 saw a strong all-women alliance formed on the Brains team.
Here’s every established alliance — with an official name — that’s been formed on Australian Survivor so far.
Girl’s Gone Wild

After the new Brains Tribe formed, Zara, Laura, Morgan and Kate formed an alliance named Girl’s Gone Wild and their aim was to take out the men on their tribe. However, the first step of that plan fell through when their Tribal Council visit was actually a Tribe Swap, rather than an elimination.
After Laura found an advantage that revealed the upcoming Tribal was a swap, she told the group, and Zara was sent to the new Brawn tribe.
Hunkz

An all-male alliance was formed between Myles, Jesse, Ben, and PD called the Hunkz. However, Myles admitted in a producer-led interview that he wasn’t 100% into the alliance but instead using it as a cover-up. Meanwhile, Ben has since left Survivor, so the Hunkz longevity doesn’t look promising.
The VB’s

The VB was another Brains tribe formed shortly after The Coven. Laura and Logan were keen to start another alliance outside of their all-female one. However, Rich blew up the trio’s secret at Tribal, and Logan started gunning for him shortly after.
The Graduates

The Graduates have yet to take action together. However, Karin, Kaelen, Zara, AJ and Myles have been in extensive talks about working together.
The Bombsquad

The Bombsquad is the all-male alliance that’s been formed on the Brains side. After Rich found out about the Coven, he hustled to form a team with Myles, Max, Rich, Kaelen and AJ.
However, now that Rich has been sent to the Brawn tribe, will the male team be able to survive without their leader?
Clearly, it’s time for the Brawn tribe to start using their brains and form some established alliances.
Australian Survivor airs at 7pm on Sundays and 7:30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays on Channel 10 and 10Play.
