From thousands of hopefuls belting their hearts out at auditions, the competition has been whittled down to the top contenders, and soon, one will be named the winner of Australian Idol 2025.

But now, the power is in your hands! Australia will vote to decide who walks away with the title of Australian Idol, the cash prize, and a life-changing recording contract.

So, if you want to be part of Idol history and help crown the next big Aussie music sensation, here’s everything you need to know about voting.

How does Australian Idol voting work?

Now that we’ve hit the Top 10, it’s all up to Australia to decide! Each week, fans across the country have the chance to vote for their favourite contestant, keeping them in the competition and inching them closer to the grand prize.

As the competition, eliminations will continue until we reach the Grand Finale, where the remaining finalists will go head-to-head for the crown.

When it comes to the final showdown, every single vote will count, because the winner will be determined entirely by public vote.

How to vote for Australian Idol

If you’ve got a favourite artist you can’t bear to see go home, you can keep them in the game by SMS-ing their name to 0457 500 700.

The SMS votes are limited to 10 votes per person/device for each individual voting period, but just one could be the difference between your fave making it to the finale or heading home too soon.

Who can you vote for?

We’re officially in the Top 10, with the judges deciding to save Giselle and Emma this week. That leaves Bony, William, John, Ilysh, Jaymon, Hannah, Marshall and Jake to save. Voting closes on Tuesday night, so make sure to text the name of who you want to see make it to the Top 8.

When is the grand finale?

While the exact Australian Idol finale date hasn’t been confirmed just yet, based on previous seasons, we expect the final showdown to hit our screens in early April 2025 (roughly two months after the February 2 premiere).

You can watch Australian Idol live on Channel 7 or stream it anytime on 7plus. The usual schedule is Sundays at 7pm and Mondays and Tuesdays at 7:30pm, so mark your calendars!

What does the winner get?

Besides the glory of being crowned Australia’s next superstar, the Australian Idol 2025 winner will take home $100,000 in prize money AND a recording contract with Hive Sound Studios.

So, if you want to have a say in who takes home the grand prize and a shot at music stardom, now’s the time to make your vote count. Choose wisely!

Australian Idol 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Mondays and Tuesdays at 7:30pm on Channel 7 and 7plus.
