William Le Brun stepped onto the Australian Idol 2025 arena in Episode 1, looking schmick as always and delivering a jazzy twist to Blinding Lights by The Weeknd during auditions.
His smooth vocals earned him a Golden Ticket before a spot in the Top 24, where he was paired with Bony and Jazz. But it was Australian Idol judge Marcia Hines who saw something extra special in him, handing him a coveted Fast Pass straight to the Top 12.
“I’m here to introduce my generation to the old generation,” William declared during his Idol intro.
Without a doubt the 21-year-old Melbournian is putting jazz and swing back in the spotlight. But what else do we know about the Crooner who’s out to give Michael Bublé a run for his money?
Here’s everything you need to know about Australian Idol’s William.

He’s already released a Christmas single
Before Australian Idol, William was making moves in already making moves in the field.
Last November, he dropped a silky-smooth cover of It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, produced by Phil Turcio.
It marked his first professional recording, and it really does sound like something straight off a holiday movie soundtrack. Netflix, take note!
He started singing at home and at church
William has been performing for as long as he can remember, starting with his family.
“He blew us all away at a young age,” his mum said during his audition.

From the photos shown during his audition, it looks like he was a church choir kid. And he still performs at his local parish!
Nowadays, he’s a wedding singer
Unsurprisingly, his dulcet tones have made him a go-to for weddings. According to his website, William specialises in performances for weddings, corporate functions, and special events.
“My mission is to transform every venue into a vibrant and joyful atmosphere,” it reads.
“For me, entertaining is more than just a profession — it’s a calling.” We can imagine!
His repertoire is classic, blending jazz, pop, and swing. He cites icons like Michael Bublé, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis, and Nat King Cole, as well as contemporary stars like Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, Bruno Mars, and Adele.
Now that he’s on Australian Idol, we’re excited to see where his calling takes him next.
