Fans have called Amy Shark out and accused Australian Idol of being rigged after the judge shared a message to her broadcast channel backing one contestant.
On March 25, Amy took to Instagram to support Top 6 contestant William Le Brun after he performed a cover of her song “I Said Hi”.
Amy shared a clip of the performances to her channel with 5.6k members, as well as messages that said, “Sharks!!! How great was this!!!” and “Go give the guy some love… Attack attack.”

It’s the only message that Amy has shared on her broadcast channel this season supporting an Australian Idol 2025 contestant. The winner of Australian Idol is decided by public vote.
Fans have taken to a Facebook group to call Amy out for being “biased.”
Fans reach to Amy’s messages supporting William Le Brun
One person took to Facebook to accuse Amy of influencing the vote by backing William.
“As much as I love Amy, I find this so wrong on so many levels. On last night’s show, she can’t be biased because of a contestant singing one of her songs, yet this morning, she posted this on her Instagram channel, which could possibly sway the votes…” one person wrote.

“Totally favouritism to him, silly move, Amy,” another fan wrote.
However, some viewers defended Amy and said that she should be free to post her personal opinions on social media.
“She’s allowed to brag on her personal social media, and the show requires her to be professional. I’m sure she was bursting at the seams to be biased, but she was truly professional. She has done nothing wrong,” a fan wrote.
Another said that they backed William for his talent before seeing Amy’s post.
