The stakes are getting higher on Australian Idol 2025 as the competition narrows and Australia’s most promising talents battle it out for the top spot, like Gisella Colletti.
The 16-year-old contender stood out since her first audition with her show-stopping vocals and mega stage presence.
Find out more about Australian Idol’s young gun, Gisella.
Gisella Colletti’s Australian Idol journey
Gisella first impressed us when she performed at a Marcia Hines concert, delivering a stunning rendition of I Am Changing by Jennifer Holliday.
The performance earned her a coveted Golden Ticket, cementing her place in the next round of the competition.
Since then, she’s continued to deliver standout performances, including a breathtaking take on Without You by Harry Nilsson, which even garnered a standing ovation.
Where is Australian Idol’s Gisella from?
Gisella hails from Perth, Western Australia, and is a student at Corpus Christi College, where she’s been honing her skills in theatre productions. Most recently she played the role Truly Scrumptious in the school’s production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Corpus Christi College has even been rallying behind Gisella on their socials, cheering her on as she takes on Idol.
She’s a certified theatre kid
Gisella clearly loves to tread the theatre boards. She’s taken on iconic roles like Ariel in The Little Mermaid, performing Part of Your World with the Joondalup Symphony Orchestra for 101 Years of Magic: Celebrating the Music of Disney.
She’s also performed Defying Gravity from Wicked at the Elite Eisteddfod and even joined the Perth Orchestra for The Music of Taylor Swift Reimagined.
But her performance background isn’t all musicals. She’s even sung the national anthem for the Perth Wildcats. Go cats!
A familiar face on Seven
If Gisella looked familiar before Idol, it might be because she’s not a stranger to Channel 7, having performed Survivor by Destiny’s Child for the 2024 Channel 7 Telethon alongside three other singers, helping raise funds for sick, vulnerable, and disadvantaged children in Western Australia.
Wild to think she’s only 16, right? Let’s see what she continues to bring to the Australian Idol table!
