There’s been some chaotic couples saying “I do” on Married at First Sight 2025 (MAFS), but Dave Thomas and Jamie Marinos are one of the few that seem genuinely into one another. Or at least, they seemed that way at the start.
With Jamie’s hilarious one-liners and Dave’s swoon-worthy scenes, the newlyweds have given viewers some glorious air time.
While the pair appeared to be off to a good start, we’ve taken a deeper dive to find out if Jamie and Dave are still together IRL.

Jamie spotted with a Dave lookalike
After Jamie retracted her “I love you” during the final Commitment Ceremony, all bets were off. Woman’s Day recently revealed that Jamie has been seen out and about with a man in Melbourne, and it’s not Dave!
However, he apparently looks very similar to Dave, meaning she has a type.
“She was comfortable enough to wear no makeup and cute activewear,” the onlooker said. Jamie was a bit camera-shy and fled the scene so nobody would take a pic. Guess she doesn’t want to spoil the ending!
Dave wanted to leave during his honeymoon with Jamie
A source spilled to Chattr that Dave wasn’t into Jamie from the get-go and thought about leaving during their honeymoon.
“Dave never liked Jamie from the honeymoon. He wasn’t attracted to her. He didn’t like she didn’t like animals. There was a birdcage incident where Jamie was freaking out about the birds on their honeymoon, and he wanted to leave,” the insider claimed.
“It also came out that Dave wasn’t pursuing Jamie sexually and they stopped having sex.”

MAFS star alludes to the end of Dave and Jamie’s relationship in personal message to Dave
It turns out Morena Farina may have said it’s all over for Dave and Jamie in an interview with MAFSFunny. The podcast episode, which was released on March 12, revealed Morena’s slip-up.
“Dave, I wanna thank you. Every single day, your hugs, the way you held me tight, you got me through some really dark moments. You’re a beautiful young man Dave, and you really are going to get a beautiful woman one day,” Morena said.
Body language expert calls out Dave’s strange behaviour
A body language expert has also noted there was a “massive difference” in the way Dave acted around his wife during the most recent Commitment Ceremony.
“The whole time during this [couch session] Dave had his hand on Jamie’s knee. But as he did so, he was leaning away and even angling away from her. We lean into what we like, we open to what we like,” he said.
“He still had the same physical distancing [and] you even saw him then go through and start going a bit internal from a mental processing point of view,” he added. “And then Jamie continued on [and] Dave further withdrew, and you would have seen that finger fidgeting and a range of other things.”
Are Jamie and Dave together in real life?
An insider told Chattr that it is obvious that Dave doesn’t have strong feelings for Jamie.
Plus, the pair are believed to have made it to Final Vows and say yes, but it’s all for show and they’ve since broken up.
We no longer believe in love!
“Everyone knew Dave wasn’t really into Jamie and Awhina [Rutene] wasn’t really that into Adrian [Araouzou],” the insider spilled.
“A lot of people were just [on MAFS] for the air time… so it wasn’t a surprise at all, because everyone who was there were there to be influencers, or they were actors.”
“I think Jamie was more into Dave than Dave was into Jamie. It comes out in the next few weeks that Dave doesn’t have feelings for Jamie,” the source added.
When we asked Jamie to clear up the rumours, she slightly dodged the question and waffled on about how strong the pair are. Could this just be PR spin for the show? Only time will tell!
“Dave and I are one of the strongest couples. I told him I loved him, and it’s me him against the world,” she declared.

In recent times Jamie and Dave’s relationship seems to be hanging on by an even thinner thread.
Jamie arrived at the March 12 Dinner Party solo, fresh off the Partner Swap phase, where things took a nosedive after the pair discovered their sexual needs didn’t align.
Jamie’s worried Dave isn’t attracted to her, while Dave may have been spooked by Jamie’s declaration of love.
“I never thought I would be walking to the Dinner Party alone. When I say my whole world was flipped upside down, it truly was,” Jamie told Chattr, admitting she felt “led on” since they’d been talking about a future together just weeks earlier.
To make matters worse, Dave’s chemistry with fellow bride Veronica Cloherty sparked cheating rumours, though Dave insists he was “totally committed” and wouldn’t risk his marriage.

That being said, Dave further revealed to Chattr that despite the speculation, he actually appreciated Jamie dropping the L-word. However, their “yuck time” was made even tougher by his father undergoing chemotherapy.
With Homestays Week looming, Jamie teased even more drama ahead, particularly with her fiercely protective sister.
“[Dave’s] got my sister to deal with. People think I’m bad. My sister’s way worse,” she said.
Meanwhile, a Chattr source spilled that during Final Task Week, Jamie pursued an alternative match after feeling “hurt” and “rejected” by Dave, but it didn’t exactly pan out.
So while nothing is official, it’s not looking too hot for these two so far.
Fans spot clue about Dave and Jamie’s post-MAFS relationship
Dave is active on TikTok under the handle @siliconevalleycaulking, and fans recently noticed that he isn’t following Jamie on the platform. Could this spell trouble in paradise?
“I wish you and Jamie came out of this experience as a proper couple,” one fan wrote.
“He doesn’t follow Jamie on TikTok [yet] he is following other MAFS participants,” another observed.
“My thought is they are laying low like producers would have required. I imagine them so wrapped up in each other they don’t need to follow each other,” a third remarked.
Jamie tells Chattr that TikTok isn’t a big deal.
“Barely anyone followed each other on TikTok, and I actually unfollowed everyone on Instagram on socials, because you’re not supposed to follow anyone,” she explains.
“It’s only the random people that found my TikTok account, it wasn’t anything against Dave. But also, the rumour mill thinks I’m pregnant, so I don’t really trust the rumour mill.”

Dave and Jamie’s pairing
Per Jamie’s LinkedIn, she’s a Digital Account Manager at a Melbourne-based marketing firm and a 2017 graduate of the University of South Australia with a degree in Marketing and Communications.
Dubbed the “Queen of drama” by sources via Daily Mail Australia, Jamie has been described by insiders as “loud, fun, and probably one of the most outrageous people you’ll meet.”
One production source even shared with the news outlet that Jamie is “the life of the party” and keeps everyone, from cast to crew, buzzing.
Like many past MAFS participants, Jamie also has a serious social media following, with over 362,000 likes on her now-private TikTok account.
Jamie’s MAFS groom, Dave, also has his own claim to social media fame.
The 6’6” gym enthusiast and owner of a caulking business has gained traction on TikTok with renovation videos, attracting nearly 30,000 followers.
While it doesn’t seem to end well for the pair, we still have a tiny glimmer of hope!
Married At First Sight 2025 airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
