Carina Mirabile and Paul Antoine started off as one of the strongest couples on Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025.
After overcoming a blip at the altar where Carina revealed that she’d been on a date with Paul before and he’d ghosted her, the couple have gone from strength to strength. The MAFS bride even appeared to confirm their relationship status in a Chattr interview.
However, things got a bit rocky when Paul punched a wall in a violent outburst, and then outed one of Carina’s shady comments about Awhina Rutene‘s twin sister Cleo Rutene.
The couple split recently, but were seen getting cosy during a MAFS reunion viewing party. We’re so confused! Are the genetically-blessed couple still together? Let’s investigate.
Where do Carina and Paul stand now?
After Carina dumped Paul at Final Vows, Paul didn’t get in contact or try to win her back. It seems like they knew the chapter was closed. Since then, she has decided to have a “civil friendship” with Paul, but romance isn’t happening right now.
“I much rather our platonic relationship and friendship over having any animosity between one another and bad blood. It just doesn’t work [for me] and it doesn’t align with my morals,” she told Chattr.
However, she was taken aback when she saw Paul call her a “snob” during the MAFS episode, and he hadn’t warned her about it in advance.

“Rhi and I were getting our hair and makeup done, and she saw the promo clip on the MAFS Instagram, and she was like ‘Oh my goodness’,” Carina recalled. “I was like, ‘Wow. Thank you so much.’ I’m like, ‘You’re two-faced because why didn’t you say that to my face?’.
“He never said anything like that to my face. I don’t know where it was brewing from. So yeah, I was quite shocked. I did throw a few little sneaky comments out there, like sarcastic ones [when I saw him] on Sunday, but at the end of the day, it’s all light-hearted.”
Carina said she wishes Paul the best, and hopes he finds the best person for him for the future.
Would Carina ever get back together with Paul?
Carina told Chattr the “ship has sailed”, even though she believed she was extremely “compatible” with Paul near the beginning.
“The experiment does throw many tasks your way, and if we were going through the ups and downs of that in such an early stage of a relationship, then, you know, I and him obviously need to assess if we’re compatible,” she explained.
“I don’t think [I’d date him] in the future. No, we’re just friends. And you know, there’s traits that I look for in a man, and I’m sure he looks for in a woman as well, and they will align with him for the right person, and same with me.”
Did Carina and Paul say yes at Final Vows?
Carina threw a curve ball during Final Vows with her vows, as she told Paul she was “taught to forgive” as a Christian. After all the mistakes he made in the experiment, it looked like she was going to fold and take Paul back.
However, she changed her tune halfway through and said she can no longer trust Paul after he went on a date with another woman during the Grass is Greener challenge.
“You threw it all away in a selfish act. You were given a test which you failed. In my eyes that was the final straw. I felt embarrassed, humiliated and disrespected and I never want to feel like that again,” she declared.
“I can’t be with someone who makes me feel like I’m not enough. And no matter how hard I try I can’t look at you in the same way. Paul. I was yours. You had me. You ruined it. And now you’re going to have to live with that for the rest of your life.”
Paul was reduced to tears as he begged Carina for a second chance. “I seriously thought you were going to be able to move past this one… I actually can’t believe this is happening,” he said. “Do you think you’ll be able to forgive me, like, in the future?”
The groom got his answer as Carina turned away and left him, with only his tears as company. It looks like these two are completely over!
Did Carina break up with Paul?
The pair had an explosive fight after Paul opted to meet his match for the Grass is Greener challenge — apparently, he was curious. Curiosity killed the cat, Paul!
While Carina stayed at home and washed Paul’s laundry, he was on a date with Hannah Dawson. After Carina had such an issue with Paul doing the couple swap, it’s wild he didn’t think about how she would handle him going on a date with another woman.
He came up with a weak excuse about how going on the date actually made him like Carina more, which she wasn’t having a bar of. According to Carina, going on a date was “cheating”, and the trust was broken.
“Anything that you say is not going to say how I’m feeling. That was the last straw. I actually thought you weren’t gonna do it,” Carina yelled at Paul.
“I’m done! So now you can pack your shit and you can leave. No, I’m being serious,” she added.
Carina told Paul that his actions would translate to him cheating in the real world, something that she wasn’t going to tolerate.
“You’re not here for the right reasons. Fuck that… I’m actually so embarrassed,” Carina added.
An insider tells Chattr there’s more drama to come.
“Carina felt really uncomfortable, and she was saying at the Dinner Party, ‘How could you do this knowing how uncomfortable I was with the Couple Swap, and now you go and take up the challenge?’,” they spilled.
Are Carina and Paul still together?
Things don’t look good for Carina and Paul’s romantic future, despite the MAFS bride insinuating that they were still together in an interview with Chattr in early Feb.
“To be fair, my phone is going off, and I’m just enjoying life with Paul and all the rest of the cast that are my friends,” Carina said at the time when asked about the never-ending MAFS drama.

Carina dropped even more hints when asked about her Valentine’s Day plans.
“Paul’s still in the mines, he’s actually finishing off his last swing and he’s got eight days to go now… so I’m in Melbourne with the girls, and we’re doing a girls’ Valentine’s Day tomorrow,” she spilled.
“We’re celebrating Jamie [Marinos’] birthday, Rhi [Disljenkovic’s] birthday, and while Paul’s away working hard, I’m spending the dosh.”
However, while those tidbits certainly sounded promising, signs suggest that the couple is actually done.
When do Carina and Paul break up?
A source told Chattr that Carina and Paul make it to Final Vows, but both agreed to end their relationship there.
On top of that, a TikTok user shared screenshots of a flirty conversation she claims took place between her and Paul in November 2024, shortly after Final Vows was filmed.
To add even more fuel to the fire, a recent Instagram video spelt trouble for Paul and Carina’s future.
An influencer named Jasky Singh shared a clip of himself interviewing Paul in Scarborough, Western Australia. The chat took place after MAFS had finished filming, but before it began airing, and Paul wasn’t wearing his wedding ring.
Carina and Paul’s rocky MAFS 2025 start
The MAFS couple seemed like a match made in heaven during their ceremony. However, cracks became apparent straight after their vows when Carina confessed that she’d been on a date with Paul before, and he had ghosted her.
Despite their rocky start, the couple patched things up at their reception when Paul approached Carina’s parents and confessed that he wasn’t in the right place emotionally to start a relationship when he went on a date with Carina.
Paul assured both his bride and her parents that he was now ready for something serious, and they seemed to accept his explanation.
Carina told Chattr that while she was “frustrated and shocked” at first, she began to see her pairing with Paul as “kind of a relief”.
“We are quite similar, and we can relate to one another, and I think it kind of worked out in our favour,” she said.
Their relationship went from strength to strength until one evening, after a night out with other participants, the couple got into a heated argument. During that argument, Paul punched a door, and while he subsequently apologised and expressed remorse for his actions, the incident may have spelled the end of their relationship.
Carina and Paul’s pairing
Carina comes from a large Italian family and is the only one of five siblings who isn’t married. Going into MAFS she was hoping to find someone tall, handsome, European and educated.
Paul certainly fits that brief, and he told the experts he was looking for a partner with European flair, a smile that lights up a room, and a great sense of humour — which sounds exactly like Carina.
Will the couple make it to the Final Vows? We’re not so sure anymore.
