The latest season of Married at First Sight (MAFS) 2025 is in full swing, and we’re here for all the juicy drama the MAFS 2025 couples are bringing to the table.
One couple that’s kept us on our toes so far is Awhina Rutene and Adrian Araouzou. The pair have an undeniable chemistry but have had a turbulent relationship so far, with the couple fearing they won’t be compatible outside of the experiment.

Adrian and Awhina spotted together on Valentine’s Day
In the most recent update we have of the couple, Adrian uploaded a video on his twin brother’s TikTok on Valentine’s Day, giving Awhina a rose before the video pans to the two looking cosy and Adrian kissing her on the cheek.

On the same day, Adrian was also spotted picking Awhina up from a MAFS girls’ reunion in Melbourne, captured by Josh Fox from the MAFSfunny Instagram page and podcast.
After Josh apologised to Awhina for being paired with Adrian when she first arrived, she simply laughed, “No comment,” before Adrian later picked her up with the single red rose hanging out from the car window. However, Josh speculated the whole thing could be a set-up, and given they likely filmed the TikTok content after this moment… watch this space!
Was Adrian spotted out with someone else?
As reported by Yahoo! Lifestyle, Adrian was spotted out and about with someone who wasn’t Awhina, despite those earlier tips that they were a couple destined to go the distance.
According to the publication, he was seen holding hands with a mystery woman in Sydney’s CBD on January 31.
“I was in the city on Friday night, see a bloke who looks super familiar – I’m like, wait a sec, that’s Adrian from MAFS and he’s holding hands with a girl,” the insider told Yahoo!.
“I then notice that it’s not the girl he got married to on the show and they were looking very cozy together.”
However, Adrian insists there was a mix-up, claiming the man in question was actually his twin brother, James. A simple case of mistaken identity or a convenient cop-out? You be the judge.
Awhina and Adrian’s pairing
For some background on the pairing, Awhina is a mother-of-one who loves to cook and entertain, meaning she should be a perfect match for Adrian. Did you know he’s basically a foodie influencer?
Yep, Adrian has over 11,000 followers on his viral Instagram and TikTok account, Sweeet Sundayz, which he runs with fellow food content creator Jasmin Weston. And when Adrian’s not making us crave cheeky treats, the MAFS groom is running his own sports lifestyle brand, PAKD Sport, which he launched in 2022.
Just like Adrian, Ahwina also enjoys looking her best. According to Daily Mail, in her spare time, The Perth-based mother-of-one is also a fan of nights out and doing makeup.
She’s been described by Daily Mail as having a “feisty edge,” with a MAFS production insider telling the news publication that Awhina isn’t afraid to break the rules, and that’s exactly what makes her so watchable.
“She’s bold, she’s fearless, and she’s got no problem confronting anyone who crosses her.”
Are Adrian and Awhina still together?
While Adrian and Awhina have undeniable chemistry, their relationship hasn’t been smooth sailing so far. Awhina feels that Adrian is often quick to dismiss her feelings, and Adrian is unsure if he can step into a stepfather role if his relationship with Awhina progresses.
According to Daily Mail, the pair was reportedly spotted “storming out” of One Global Resorts in Green Square (formerly Skye Suites). “There’s been tension building for a while,” a MAFS insider told the publication. “They’ve had their fair share of ups and downs. Adrian’s trying to stay level-headed, but Awhina’s not one to back down from a fight. It’s definitely putting a strain on their relationship.”
