Travis Kelce is making the crossover from NFL player to actor with his debut in Ryan Murphy’s new horror series Grotesquerie.
Travis – who is well known in the pop culture realm now thanks to his new relationship with Taylor Swift – confirmed that he’d be taking part in the show on May 9th, which is produced by the mind behind American Horror Story.
Co-star and Emmy Award Winner Niecy Nash-Betts broke the news in an Instagram story.
“This is what happens when WINNERS link upâ¼ï¸ @killatrav Welcome to Grostequerie!,” she captioned a video of her and Travis.
“Guys, guess who I am working with on Grotesquerie?” The actress teased before panning to Travis.
“Jumping into new territory with Niecy!” the Chief’s player told the camera.
Is Grotesquerie part of the American Horror Story series?
AHS fans will be familiar with Ryan Murphy, as he has been one of the creators of the show since it’s inception way back in 2011.
The popular series has recurring actors, like Emma Robert, Billie Lourde and Sarah Paulson, and has recently attracted a new audience with the inclusion of Kim Kardashian in American Horror Story: Delicate.
However, although Grotesquerie is made by Ryan, a spokesperson for FX said that it is not under the “American Horror Story” umbrella.
What will Grotesquerie be about?
There’s not much information about what Grotesquerie is actually about yet, but a mysterious teaser clip, posted to the Instagram accounts for Ryan Murphy Productions and FX definitely gave creepy vibes.
The post simply shows cast members names and Niecy delivers an eerie voiceover.
“I don’t know what’s started. I can’t put my finger on it. But it’s different now,” she says. “There’s been a shift. It’s like something’s opening up in the world. A kind of hole to the centre of nothingness. What I saw today … they sent shrinks for everyone who worked this crime scene.
“You say, ‘Well, hon, evil has always existed,’ and cite some statistic about how the world’s getting better, less murder, more help, less global horror, never been a better time to be alive, hon. Come back. It’s not getting better. And I keep needing to hear your answers because something’s happening around us, and nobody sees … but me,” she concludes.
When will Grotesquerie be released and how can you watch it?
There’s no release date for Grotesquerie just yet, and it will air on the American channel FX. However, American Horror Story episodes are usually put on Binge on the same day they drop in the US – so we’ve got our fingers crossed that will be the case for Grotesquerie.
Who’s in the cast?
At the time of writing, the confirmed cast members are Niecy, Travis, Courtney B. Vance and Lesley Manville.
Is there a trailer?
Not yet! All we have is the mysterious teaser clip. Stay tuned!
