When we first met Tim Gromie during the Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 premiere episode at the bucks party, no one could have assumed he’d come through and quickly steal the villain crown from Eliot Donovan, but he somehow nabbed the title of Worst Groom Ever after his disastrous wedding to Katie Johnston.
In case you need a refresher, Tim was less than impressed after meeting his bride, calling her a “lovely girl” on camera before chucking a hissy fit when he thought he wasn’t being filmed. He later repetitively said to producers (and then to Katie herself) that he didn’t feel a “spark” and that his type was someone “short, petite and blonde or brunette.”
Now Tim has reportedly deleted most of his social media, with a source telling Daily Mail Australia that Tim wanted “nothing to do with the show anymore” after he finished filming MAFS. “Tim felt like the experts had really let him down, and he wasn’t shy about making his frustrations known. It got to the point where he didn’t want to be associated with the show at all,” the insider added.
MAFS fans unearth Tim’s pop-punk band
While Tim is keeping a low profile, it’s hard to hide from the eagle-eyed MAFS fans who often turn into detectives during the seasons. Now some have unearthed Tim’s band on Instagram, with the 38-year-old seen playing the drums for the band called The Last Dance.
While as aforementioned Tim has obviously deleted his social media, he’s also not mentioned at all in the band’s bio, and the band hasn’t been active on Instagram since July 2024.
One video shows them doing a cover of hit Paramore song Misery Business and, look, it’s… rough. Should a band of men enthusiastically be singing the line “Once a whore you’re nothing more”? Probably not.
MAFS fans have started leaving comments on the band’s page, especially the images of Tim. “Well this didn’t age well, did it,” one person said, with another leaving a vomiting face emoji.
Aussie music fans give warning to MAFS’ Tim
Over on TikTok, fans have also noticed Tim sporting a tattoo of Australian metal band The Amity Affliction, with the design for their album Let The Ocean Take Me. Needless to say, fans weren’t impressed. “God forbid we see you in a moshpit, son,” one person said on TikTok. “We don’t claim him,” another fan added.

Best of luck at the next hardcore show Tim, it may be best to wear a mask.
