New series alert! Stan's 80s road series Thou Shall Not Steal stellar cast revealed

Stan Original Series Thou Shall Not Steal is currently filming in Alice Springs and what’s hotter than the NT? An all-star cast!

As we dive into who is leading this eight-episode road series — which is set in Central and South Australia during the 1980s — here’s everything we know!

What is the series about?

The series follows Robyn (Sherry-Lee Watson), a young Aboriginal delinquent searching for the truth behind a mysterious family secret, who escapes from detention and reluctantly teams up with awkward teenager Gidge (Will McDonald).

Together they flee her small central desert community on a perilous journey across the outback, finding answers and learning some hard life lessons along the way.

Hot on their heels are Maxine (Miranda Otto), a sex trafficker whose taxi Robyn stole, and Gidge’s domineering father Robert (Noah Taylor), a fraudulent preacher.

Who is in the cast?

Alongside Watson (Heartbreak High), McDonald (Heartbreak High), Otto (Stan Original Film The Portable Door) and Taylor (Peaky Blinders, Game of Thrones), Thou Shalt Not Steal also features an impressive ensemble cast.

Who created it?

Director and co-creator Dylan River (pictured at the top) is behind the series and is an Aussie film director, writer, and cinematographer.

“My family always said, be careful what you write, you might have to make it one day!” he said in a statement.

“I’m so thrilled with the team we have assembled for Thou Shall Not Steal and can’t wait for audiences to join our cast of characters for a good old-fashioned road trip from the NT to SA.”

Trailer and Release date

Unfortunately, none of these are available yet as Thou Shall Not Steal is still filming.

The Stan Original Series Thou Shalt Not Steal is now in production and will be released in 2024.
