Captain Underpants was a staple of my childhood, as for many kids of our generation. The 12 books in the series, written by Dav Pilkey, have been translated in 20 languages, so it’s no surprise that they’ve decided to make it into a animated comedy superhero film.

George and Harold, who are best friends, get split up by the principal, Mr Krupp. Harold is voiced by Kevin Hart, and Mr Krupp is voiced by Ed Helms, so you know it’s going to be a good time when these two are involved. While Krupp threatens to get rid of the friendship between the two boys forever, they take matters into their own hands and hypnotise Krupp into Captain Underpants.

The Dreamworks film, title; Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, will follow the adventures of George, Harold, Captain Underpants and his evil arch nemesis Professor Poopypants. With the title hinting that this is the first of many epic movies to come, we’re kind of hoping there’s more to be made in the future. We’ll keep an eye out!

With an animation style that’s similar to The Peanuts Movie, this film is sure to draw people of young and old to watch this film.
