Swords up and get ready for The Winter King, the brand-spanking new fantasy 10-episode series coming to Stan.
Premiering on August 21, the same day as the US, the cinematic and imaginative production is a reinterpretation of the Arthurian legend based on Bernard Cornwell’s The Warlord Chronicles.
What is The Winter King about?
The official synopsis reads: Set in a brutal land of warring factions and tribes, long before Britain was united, The Winter King follows Iain De Caestecker as Arthur Pendragon on his journey from outcast to legendary warrior and leader. A story of courage, sacrifice and passion, the original series is a bold revision of this enduring story.
Who is in the cast of The Winter King?
The Winter King stars De Caestecker (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D), Eddie Marsan (Deceit), Ellie James (Giri/Haji) and Nathaniel Martello-White (I Hate Suzie).
Starring alongside them is Stuart Campbell (Rogue Heroes) as Derfel, Daniel Ings (The Crown) as Owain, Valene Kane (The Fall) as Morgan, Jordan Alexandra (Mammals) as Guinevere, and Simon Merrells (Good Omens) as Gundleus.
Plus an ensemble cast featuring Steven Elder (The King) as Bishop Bedwin, Andrew Gower (Outlander) as Sansum, Aneirin Hughes (Keeping Faith) as Gorfydd, Emily John (My Policeman) as Ceinwyn, Tatjana Nardone (Devils) as Ladwyss, Ken Nwosu (Killing Eve) as Sagramor, and Billy Postlethwaite (The Great) as Cadwys.
