The Mist trailer is here and it is scary as hell

Hold on to your seats, The Mist is coming and it looks scary as hell.

A new trailer teasing some intense shots from the new television series was recently released ahead of its June premiere.

Of course, only an author as talented as Stephen King could make mist seem scarier than your mum finding a bowl of half-eaten Doritos under your bed. Just think about how many people you know who are terrified of clowns thanks to It.

Based off King’s novella of the same name, The Mist tells the tale of a bunch of townsfolk who literally become trapped thanks to a strange phenomenon in the form of mist. Chaos ensues.

“I felt something,” a character whispers in the trailer. There is another voice which asks “what did you feel” to which the character simply answers, “that it knew me.”

Look out - the mist is coming!

This ominous banter is accompanied by some creepy shots of mist rolling into the town, as its occupants are tormented by it. At the end of the trailer, a voice says “there is something in the mist.” But what exactly is in the mist? We’re already biting our fingernails in anticipation of finding out.

The television series is the second adaptation of King’s novella. (A movie of the same name was released in 2007). However, the creators of the show have said the series won’t be a remake, but more of a re-imagining of the spine-chilling tale.

In an interview with EW, show creator Christian Torpe, said “the novella is 200 pages and one location, and we needed to change that to make an ongoing series. But we wanted to remain faithful to the heart of the story.”

The series will premiere on Spike TV on June 22.
