It’s episode 11 of The Amazing Race Australia 2023 and after a false start last episode, the final four teams are actually getting whittled down to three.
Alli and Angie Simpson were saved during the last leg when it was found to be to be a predetermined non-elimination round.
However, this time, either Alli and Angie, Harry Jowsey and Teddy Briggs, Darren McMullen and Tristan Dougan or Emma and Hayley Watkins will leave the competition during the Borneo leg.
Throughout the beginning of the ep, Harry and Teddy and Emma and Hayley fall behind, but will they make a miraculous comeback?
The Challenge
The intersection saw Darren and Tristan pair up with Alli and Angie, while Harry, Teddy, Hayley and Emma made up the other team.
During the challenge, one team collected ingredients and breakfast for the local orangutans, while the other had to call them.
Angie and Alli were responsible for calling their four hairy breakfast guests – they rang and the orangutans came. Their challenge buddies, Darren and Tristan, prepared the food while having to remember specific details about their orangutans, from their birthdays to favourite foods to fun facts.
Darren went bananas over the experience, having dreamt of this moment since reading The Jungle Book as a wee lad.
Emma and Hayley were on a mission to be the first all-female team to win the Race, but being paired with Harry and Teddy on this challenge put a bump in that plan as the boys struggled to remember the fruits they prepared, wasting a lot of time.
The Challenge
Next, the teams headed to the Sarawak River where they had to tightly bind a traditional bamboo raft before paddling six kilometres through rapids and (possibly?) croc-infested waters to receive their next clue.
After confusing a rock for a crocodile, Darren and Tristan started to get jittery. But, it was Alli and Angie who managed to capsize their raft.
Emma and Hayley stayed in a steady third place, while Harry and Teddy, who got lost on their way to the challenge, were in last.
Roadblock
At the Roadblock, one member of each team had to compete in a blowpipe challenge to win their final clue.
Darren and Tristan left the blowpipe challenge in first place and were legging it to the Pit Stop, but thanks to a wrong turn, Alli and Angie managed to overtake the boys, and they hit the carpet first.
Emma and Hayley were relieved to be in third place, and sadly, Harry and Teddy were last to arrive and were eliminated from the Race. Harry paid tribute to his three friends that he’d lost to suicide, and tearfully stressed the importance of reaching out to Beyond Blue.
