For over a decade, fans worldwide have been captivated by Netflix’s Black Mirror and now, we’re about to get Season Seven!

In an announcement released on March 15, the streaming giant revealed that the next instalment will be dropping on the 10 April 2025 — and this time, with a nostalgic twist!

While the new season once again promises six individual episodes, only five will be brand-new story arcs, with the sixth a follow-up to the critically acclaimed sci-fi adventure USS Callister from Season Four.

Is there a trailer for Black Mirror Season 7?

There sure is! You can watch the official Season 7 trailer below.

The trailer follows a streamer that was launched at Next on Netflix in London earlier this year, which teased: “Robert Daly is dead, but for the crew of the USS Callister, their problems are just beginning.”

At the time Netflix accompanied the official Season 7 announcement online with a 28-second teaser in Black Mirror’s creepy/techy/futuristic style, which literally gave nothing…

Well, now we know!

Who’s in Black Mirror Season 7?

Netflix has revealed the seriously stacked cast for Black Mirror Season 7, and it’s looks very impressive.

Some of the biggest names joining this season include Awkwafina (Jackpot!), Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers), Rashida Jones (Sunny), Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids), Issa Rae (Barbie), Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-ish) and Will Poulter (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3).

And of course, the USS Callister sequel is bringing back some familiar faces. Cristin Mot liilioti (Nanette Cole), Billy Magnussen (Valdack), Jimmi Simpson (James Walton), Milanka Brooks (Elena Tulaska), Osy Ikhile (Nate Packer), and Paul G. Raymond (Kabir Dudani) are all returning.

Jesse Plemons, aka Robert Daly, isn’t listed among the returning cast members. Which is fair, since his the teaser does say his character is dead. I wonder what else the sequel has in store?

Black Mirror’s ‘USS Callister’ refresher

USS Callister was released in December 2017 and was written by Charlie Brooker and William Bridges.

Jesse stars as a reclusive programmer (Robert Daly) who co-founded a massively popular multiplayer online game.

Daly’s inner turmoil leads him to craft a parallel realm reminiscent of Star Trek, with a twist. In this virtual space, he commandeers the USS Callister, populated by digital versions of his colleagues, replicated from their very DNA.

Before long, Nanette Cole (Cristin), who is new to the gaming company, stirs up a revolt against the Captain and what ensues is a gripping uprising, challenging the very fabric of Daly’s digital dominion.
