Viewers were left with a wholesome ending to My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2024, with winner Simone — who was teamed up with Viviana — revealing that he and his partner were expecting a baby during the grand finale.
It turns out Simone’s girlfriend Victoria discovered that she was pregnant while Simone was filming MKR.
During an exclusive interview with Chattr, Simone revealed that “being far away from home while my partner was pregnant” was what he struggled with the most.
“We found out [that Victoria was pregnant] why we were on the show,” he explained, adding that they had a few chances to see each other during filming.
“We came back a few times to cook at home, and she joined me a couple of times around Australia just to see each other. But, it was very challenging, and it was really tough.”
Simone told Chattr that he and Victoria have decided to call their son Romeo, and revealed that he’ll be born in the new year.
“Romeo will be due in January,” he revealed. “We were hoping for [the pregnancy], and it was like a dream come true.”
So will Simone teach Romeo to be a whiz in the kitchen like his dad?
“Well, he’s going to have some Italian blood inside him, so I feel like he will come naturally for him,” the MKR champ laughed.
What will Simone do with his prize money?
Simone and Viviana won $100,000 in prize money for winning MKR 2024, and they will split the cash between them.
Simone told Chattr that he’d put most of his money towards helping his family.
“I will use it towards my son Romeo; that will be a big, big help.I will also use it towards my dad’s visa; I’m trying to bring him to Australia,” he shared.
“He lives in Italy. His dream was always to come and join me when I was settling in Australia.”
Simone shared that his dad was “over the moon” about Simone’s win and “couldn’t be more proud”.
