Shark Tank Australia 2023 Recap Episode 4: An episode of firsts delivers some serious investment

It’s episode four of Shark Tank Australia 2023 and it was a night of firsts, with the first-ever pitch in song, and the first artificial intelligence product for the season.

Pitch #1 – The Catchy (Rachel and Brad Cohen)

The Product

The Catchy is a world-first food catcher for highchairs and has already sold 50,000 units to over 60 countries across the world and investors are already on board.

The Investment Wish

 $300,000 in exchange for 2% equity.

Offer accepted

Davie Fogarty and Robert Herjavec teamed up and caught $300k for a 5% share, with royalties to be paid until the investment is paid back.

Pitch #2 – KAASIDA (Akanksha Sidha)

The Product

Clothing line KAASIDA brings the world one of the most ancient forms of embroidery from India to your apparel.

The Investment Wish

 $35,000 for 10% equity.

Offer Accepted

 Dr Catriona Wallace struck a deal with $35,000 for 30% of KAASIDA.

Pitch #3 – The Beanies (Laura, Mim and Michael)

The Product

Sing and dancing their way to a perfect pitch were Sydney children’s entertainers Laura, Mim and Michael, a.k.a the ARIA-nominated children’s music group The Beanies.

Hailed “the best pitch of Shark Tank Australia ever by OG Shark Robert, it was also the first-ever pitch to be sung!

The Investment Wish

$150,000 for 10% equity.

Offer Accepted

Robert, Davie and Jane Lu teamed up for a 50% stake in the business, at the asking price, with the option to buy back in the future.

Pitches without offers

Unfortunately, missing out on an investment was AI Toolkit, an AI-powered toolkit designed to save teachers countless hours of lesson preparation, marking assessments, and writing report comments.
