SAS Australia has seen some spectacular clashes over the years – and it looks like we’re in for another epic rivalry between former Bachelor Lachlan Gilbert and comedian Pauly Fenech.
But who will come out on top as the ultimate alpha male? OoOoOoOo
Channel 7′s latest trailer starts with the 31-year-old reality TV – of Australian Survivor and The Bachelor – boasting about his predictions for his run on the quasi-military course.
He tells the producer: “I’ve survived a lot of things, I’ve survived an island, a pack of girls. This is my fourth TV show – how hard can this be?”
Wish I had his energy.
While it seems like the buff reality TV star has what it takes to go all the way, he seems to have one big hurdle ahead of him – the Fat Pizza creator.
The trailer cuts to the team in the back of a vehicle with Locky and Pauly sitting beside each other as the frustrated Bachelor star says: “Oh my god Pauly, you’re a liability.”
Cut to Pauly defiantly telling producers: “People are gonna put me down, that makes me go harder.”
Okay, maybe I want Pauly’s energy instead.
Locky then seems to go on an ego trip, calling himself an “egotistical fame junkie, I am this tough alpha male.”
But it all comes to a head in a dramatic confrontation between the two after Locky insulted him.
And of course, Pauly threatened to “smash” the genetically-blessed star’s face if he called him that expletive again.
Locky goaded the comedian on, but the confrontation was de-escalated by a professional boxer Ebaine Bridges.
In the interrogation room, the Bachelor is confronted by directing staff (DS) Clint Emerson – a former US Navy SEAL who was part of the team that took out Osama bin Laden – who asks him: “Locky rhyme with?” to which the reality star replies: “Cocky.”
He continues to get blasted by Chief Instructor Ant Middleton, who reminds him that SAS Australia: “This isn’t a reality show, you understand me?” before lighting him on fire in a dangerous stunt.
Ant hints at the end of the trailer: “Who has the resilience to to see it through, you’ll be surprised.”
While it would make sense for big and buff Locky to make it to the end to the end of the selection, it would be a nice to see underdog Pauly there too.
Season three of SAS Australia returns to Channel Seven in February.
