My dear readers. Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor has shocked fans with the announcement that she will not be returning for Season 3.
The 27-year-old — who rose to fame as Daphne Bridgerton on the hit series — made the announcement via a recent interview.
“Sadly, not in season three. Potentially in the future. But [in] season three, I’m just excited to watch as a viewer,” she told Screen Rant.
In a separate interview with Variety, she further explained her reasoning.
“Well, I did my two seasons,” she admitted. “I’ve done what I wanted to do with that character and she had a great arc.
“If they ask me back in the future, who knows?”
Daphne was the central focus for the popular Netflix show’s first season, where she was coupled up with dreamboat Regé-Jean Page (the Duke of Hastings, Simon Basset).
In season two, she played a mere supporting character while it followed Viscount Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and his love story with Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).
Season 3 will centre on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and “Lady Whistledown” Penelope Featherington’s (Nicola Coughland) love story.
