Stranger Things' Noah Schnapp Comes Out as Gay With an Epic Nod to His Character Will

Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp has come out as gay while giving an epic nod to his character Will Byers from the Netflix runaway success.

Taking to TikTok, the 18-year-old shared a short clip of himself lying in bed with text: “When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years, and all they said was ‘we know,'”. Love this for him!

Noah lip-synched to an original sound by user princessazula0, which said: “You know what it never was? That serious. It was never that serious. Quite frankly, it will never be that serious.”

In an ‘art imitates life’ moment, the actor captioned the upload with: “I guess I’m more similar to will [sic] than I thought”.

During season four of Stranger Things, the series hinted at Will’s queer sexuality when he began to resent Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Mike’s (Finn Wolfhard) relationship.

David Harbour Hinted at Noah Schnapp’s Character Being Gay

David Harbour, who plays Detective Hopper also implied Will being gay in an interview with Variety.

“If you’ve been watching the show, you should know that Will is not interested in El. He’s interested in someone else in the group.”

While it was never confirmed as fact, Noah revealed in another interview with the same publication the importance of ambiguity.

“I feel like they never really address it or blatantly say how Will is. I think that’s the beauty of it, that it’s just up to the audience’s interpretation,” he said.

“If it’s Will kind of just refusing to grow up and growing up slower than his friends, or if he is really gay.”

At the time of publication, the TikTok announcement had received over 4.7 million likes — and frankly, we heart the f*ck out of this!
