The winners of My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2024 have been officially announced, and Queensland duo Simone and Viviana have claimed the crown!
Grand finale: What went down
The pair triumphed with a final score of 27 out of 30, awarded by judges Colin Fassnidge, Manu Feildel, and special guest judge Julie Goodwin.
They Italian best friends narrowly beat out Tasmania’s mother-and-son team, Caz and Fergus, who received a commendable 25 out of 30.
Simone and Viviana’s winning menu featured a Lobster and Guanciale Taco entrée, a main of Cappellacci Fagioli E Cozze with Lamb Rump, Pecorino Zabaione, and Asparagus, and a dessert of Paris-Brest with Hazelnut Praline Cream.
“We wanted to showcase dishes that had never been seen before,” Simone explained.
Their innovative approach paid off. The entrée was a standout, with Manu praising it as “perfectly cooked,” while Julie called the meal “a joy to eat.”
“I’m so happy to have shared this moment with Viviana and all our friends,” Simone said upon receiving the crown. “Amore, amore. We did this for you.”
“I walked into this challenge with a best friend and came out of it with a brother,” Viviana added. “I couldn’t be happier.”
Their time in the competition
Throughout MKR, which saw some of Australia’s best home chefs face off, Simone and Viviana consistently impressed, with their standout performances leading many fans to predict their victory ahead of the grand finale.
The duo secured second place in the first round with a score of 74 out of 110, and went on to set a new MKR record with 104 out of 110 in round two – the highest score in the show’s history.
In the Ultimate Instant Restaurant round, the Simone and Viviana once again claimed first place with a score of 68 out of 100.
Now, as My Kitchen Rules champions, Simone and Viviana walk away with the $100,000 prize. Bravo to this talented pair!
