The remaining My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2024 teams were in for a shock when they were informed that they were about to take part in the Ultimate Instant Restaurant round.
In recent seasons, there was a maximum of two Instant Restaurant rounds per season. However, if you cast your mind back to MKR 2017, you’ll remember that the top eight teams took part in the Ultimate Instant Restaurant round.
This season, it’s back again, with Judge Colin Fassnidge announcing during the October 22 episode that Simone and Viviana, Caz and Fergus, Mike and Pete, Janey and Maddie, and Rob and Liam will be travelling around the country for another round.
How will the My Kitchen Rules Ultimate Instant Restaurant round work?
Colin teased that a twist was coming for the top five teams, telling them the competition was about to ramp up.
“We’re going back around the country; it’s time for the Ultimate Instant Restaurant round.”
Manu explained that the third round would be even more challenging than the first two.
“We’re asking for twice as many dishes to give your diners a choice. That’s two entrees, two mains, and two desserts,” he said.
“Over the years, the Ultimate Instant Restaurant rounds have been the make or break for teams,” Colin added.
“It is as tough as it gets. But, survive them and you will have all the tools you need to come back here to Kitchen HQ and take out the title.”
Who has done the best in the MKR 2024 Instant Restaurants?
Earlier this season, Simone and Viviana made MKR history by receiving the highest Instant Restaurant score ever.
They earned 104 out of 110 for their entree of Beef Tartare with Crumbed Yogurt and Crostini, main of Prawn and Potato Ravioli with Prawn Bisque and dessert of Millefoglie.
Where does the MKR Leaderboard currently sit?
The MKR Leaderboard determined who was eliminated in round one and round two of the Instant Restaurant round.
Round one saw Rob and Liam take out the win with a score of 84 out of 100. Of course, round two saw Simone and Viviana top the leaderboard with their record-breaking score of 104 out of 110.
