The My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2024 grand finale played out on November 19, and fan-favourite Simone and Viviana were crowned the winners.
The Italian besties battled against Caz and Fergus during a heated competition in the kitchen.
Looking back on the season, MKR 2024 started with round one of the Instant Restaurants, which saw every team prepare a three-course meal in their own Instant Kitchens for MKR judges Manu Fiedel and Colin Fassnidge.
After each dining experience, the judges and the MKR contestants scored the meals, which decided their place on the MKR leaderboard.
A new MKR twist saw the two teams who had the lowest scores at the end of round one sent home. The remaining teams headed around the nation once again for round two and were joined by a few new teams called the gate crashers.
Round two saw another team eliminated before the remaining cast members moved on to Kitchen HQ, where another team was sent packing.
After that, the remaining contestants took part in the Ultimate Instant Restaurant round, and the team that got the lowest score was eliminated.
For the first semi-final, two teams battled it out to see who would make it into this year’s grand final. For the second semi-final, it was a battle of the Italians.

Caz and Fergus
Caz and Fergus were crowned the runners-up of MKR 2024 after losing out to Simone and Viviana in the MKR grand final.
It was a close finale, with the mother-son duo scoring 25 out of 30, compared to the Italian mate’s score of 27 out of 30.
Mike and Pete
The second round of the semi-finals came and went, with Mike and Pete sadly leaving the competition. It was a showdown between the traditional Italians and modern Italians; Mike and Pete were up against Simone and Viviana.
For their final dishes, Mike and Pete made Salmon Tartare, Crumbed scotch fillets and a ruby chocolate tart.
“We’ve enjoyed every moment. It’s been a wild, wild ride,” they said.
Janey and Maddie
This year’s MKR gatecrashers have been eliminated in the season’s first semi final episode. Janey and Maddie, the mum and daughter duo who were ranked last were unfortunately left the competition.
It was a matriarchal match off between Janey and Maddie and mum and son pairing Caz and Fergus. Sadly, Janey and Maddie lost to the current MKR leaders.
Rob and Liam
Despite winning the first round of MKR Instant Restaurants and the first Kitchen HQ challenge, the dishes that Rob and Liam’s created during the Ultimate Instant Restaurant round scored the lowest on the MKR leaderboard.
That meant that they were eliminated from the competition during the episode that aired on November 11.
Hannah and Lawrence
Hannah and Larence were the third team eliminated from MKR, and the first team was sent home from Kitchen HQ.
After scoring one of the lowest in the first challenge, they faced off against Simone and Viviana and Mike and Pete in the elimination cook, and were deemed to have the least impressive dish.
Robert and Andrea
Robert and Andrea were eliminated at the end of round two of the Instant Restaurants. The German couple failed to impress the judges with their traditional meals.
Colin told them that their main Fleischkaese Bratwurst with Potato Salad and Red Cabbage was a “fail”. The couple received a total score of 46/110 for their efforts.
Danny and Sonia
After Manu informed the contestants that the bottom two teams would be sent home, he told Danny and Sonia, who were at the bottom of the leaderboard, that they’d been eliminated because only Mike and Pete’s scores had yet to be revealed.
“Danny and Sonia, as the lowest-scoring team, you cannot be saved; you are eliminated from the competition,” Colin told them.
“You’re on the bottom, so it doesn’t matter if you’re at the bottom or second bottom. We got no saving grace; we’re done,” Danny said.
“At the end of the day, every journey’s gotta end, but it’s not going to stop me from cooking,” he added.
Ash and Cassie
Manu and Colin revealed that Mike and Pete’s overall score was 72, which meant that Ash and Cassie had the second-lowest score on the leaderboard, at 60 points, and they were sent home.
“Thanks so much for having us; it’s been an awesome experience getting to know you all,” Cassie said.
“We are so incredibly proud of ourselves; we’ve given it a red hot crack, and we’ve done our absolute best,” Ash added.
Who will be eliminated next on MKR? At this stage, it’s anyone’s guess!
