Michael Jackson’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, will portray his uncle in an upcoming biopic Michael about the life of the King of Pop.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day), the film is expected to depict the complicated legacy of the Thriller singer and will explore all aspects of his life, “including his most iconic performances that led him to become the greatest entertainer of all time.”
According to Variety, the film is being made with the cooperation of the Michael Jackson estate.
Taking to Instagram on January 31, 26-year-old Jaafar posted the most insane photograph of himself rehearsing and it was a spitting image of Michael in one of his most iconic poses.
“I’m humbled and honoured to bring my Uncle Michael’s story to life,” he captioned the post. “To all the fans all over the world, I’ll see you soon.”
Jaafar is the son of MJ’s brother and former Jackson 5 member Jermaine Jackson and one of seven kids.
Back in 2019, Jaafar released Got Me Singing, however, Michael will serve as his acting debut.
He has also appeared as himself in several family projects, including The Jacksons: Next Generation and Tito Jackson’s music video in 2021.
