In absolutely huge news, there’s been a glimmer of hope that a former MasterChef Australia judge will be thrown into the South African jungle for I’m a Celebrity Australia 2025.
The popular reality TV show has seen several MasterChef Australia contestants compete, including Anna Polyviou, Julie Goodwin and Khanh Ong. In fact, Poh Ling Yeow was a contestant in 2022, but she undertook the role before being named a MasterChef judge in 2024.
So, if the rumours are true, this season could mark the first time a MasterChef judge joins I’m a Celebrity Australia post-promotion.
Which MasterChef judge might join the cast of I’m a Celebrity 2025?
Yahoo Lifestyle Australia has reported that former MasterChef judge Melissa Leong, now in the same role on Dessert Masters, is in talks to join the I’m a Celebrity cast.
A source told the publication that the low viewership of Dessert Masters this year may lead to its cancellation.
“What has happened in the past with Channel 10’s ‘network talent’ after their flagship show gets cancelled is that they get offered a significant pay cheque to enter the jungle,” the insider said.
“We saw that with Tristan McManus last year after Studio 10 was axed. He was reluctant but eventually agreed as the network promised him more work if he signed up for the reality show,” they continued.
“The money is often quite good and if Melissa could bag a quarter of a million dollars for the proposed 21 days, that isn’t something anyone should easily turn down,” they add. “They will need to frame this offer with a very clever pitch.”
When does I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia 2025 air?
The new season will be released on January 19, 2025, and will air on Channel 10 and 10Play as usual.
Just imagine the advice Melissa could give the camp cooks!
I’m a Celebrity Australia… Get Me Out Of Here Australia 2025 will premiere on January 19, 2025 on Channel 10 and 10Play.
