The MasterChef Australia judges and contestants will be packing up their studio kitchens and heading to a popular international destination in 2024.
Judges Andy Allen, Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin and Jean-Christophe Novelli and this season’s crop of enthusiastic home cooks are headed metropolitan Asian city of Hong Kong.
“I’ve never been to Hong Kong, but I’ve been really interested in the place for a long time. That’s because I see the city’s array of food is off the charts: it’s a melting pot of different cultures, bold flavours, and one-of-a-kind ingredients,” Andy said.
“Blending Michelin-starred restaurants with bustling street markets, it seems to have this world-class food culture going on. It’s so good that now myself, the other judges, and contestants can finally get amongst it this season.”
Will the whole season be filmed in Hong Kong?
No. MasterChef Australia 2024 will be filmed in the studio kitchens, as per usual. However, the team will be headed overseas to Hong Kong for three episodes during the season.
What is the food scene like in Hong Kong?
The last time MasterChef Australia came to Hong Kong was way back in 2010 during season one. Since then, the city culinary scene has continued to grow and famously boasts everything from street eats all the way up to award-winning fine dining.
When does MasterChef Australian 2024 air?
There is no official air date for MasterChef Australia 2024 just yet. However, the last season premiered on May 7th, 2023, so fans can expect a similar start date.
What does the winner of MasterChef Australia get?
MasterChef Australia winners receive $250,000 in prize money.
