The federal election has been announced and will be held on July 2nd. That means over the next month, we will be watching and hearing politicians do their best to convince us that their policies will be the best for our futures. But there is one issue that never seems to be an election priority, and it is the issue that will affect our future the most. Obviously, I’m talking about climate change.

Right now climate change is not only heating up our earth so much that we’re three months into Autumn and it still feels like Summer, but it’s rapidly destroying our greatest national natural treasure. And the government is just standing by and letting it happen.

So an awesome activist group, GetUp, is taking action and has put together an ad that encourages us as citizens and our government to make the climate and the reef a political issue!

But they need your help to have the ad shown across TV, computer and movie screens nationwide. As a not-for-profit organisation, GetUp does not have the expenses to pay for such a large advertisement campaign and are looking to concerned and caring members of the population to help chip in.

So, if saving what remains of the Great Barrier Reef and ensuring our future isn’t dramatically impacted by changes in the climate is a concern of yours, the first thing you can do is donate a few bucks to this great initiative. That way, people all over the country will know it’s a bigger concern than the politicians are making it out to be.
