Married At First Sight relationship expert Mel Schilling has given a worrisome update about her battle with colon cancer.
On December 21, the 51-year-old revealed that she had the disease, followed by an Instagram post on December 22, saying that the tumour had already been removed by doctors in the UK.
She’s since been undergoing chemotherapy and, on April 23, revealed to UK’s Magic FM that she hasn’t been feeling well.
“I’m feeling a little flat today actually, to be totally honest with you,’ she said.
“I’m going through chemo, I’m on my third cycle now and I’m just starting to feel a bit sick,” she added.
“It sort of feels like being hungover, like I’ve been drinking all night.”
Mel Schilling is determined to win her battle against colon cancer
Mel told the radio hosts that although she’s not feeling great, she’s determined to overcome her health battle.
“I’m just now trying to find the way to juggle everything, because I’m not stopping working. This thing is not beating me, I’m here to fight, I just need to make some adaptions,” she said.
She revealed that she’s trying to ensure that she takes some downtime from work so that her body can focus on recovering and fighting.
“I love my work, it’s just kind of doing my passion so for me it’s very tempting to just say yes to everything. So, surrounding myself with the right team, making sure I’ve got people there to support me and actually encourage me to say no, if it’s something that’s not really going to be valuable and meaningful for me.
“And just having that time with my gorgeous family and friends.”
