The full MAFS 2025 cast list is out, giving us a glimpse at the soon-to-be Brides and Grooms, and their match-ups. One groom who’s already apparently causing quite the stir on set with his TV bride is 38-year-old Tim Gromie.

Per his Nine bio, Tim hails from Victoria and describes his job as a primary school teacher as a source of joy.
But his life hasn’t been without heartbreak. Tim nearly proposed to a former girlfriend, only for the relationship to end before he could pop the question.
Now, he’s entering the MAFS 2025 experiment as a self-proclaimed “big, cuddly teddy bear” ready to give his all to a meaningful connection.
Who is Tim paired with for MAFS 2025?
On MAFS 2025, Tim is reportedly paired with Katie Johnson, who describes herself on Instagram as living a “bougie hippie life.”
A mentor, writer, traveler, and nature lover, Katie is also the founder of EATS HQ, a Queensland-based social enterprise restaurant focused on “empowering all through support.”
Sounds like a match made in wholesome heaven, right? Well, maybe not.
Trouble already?
Despite their promising backgrounds, things may not be as rosy for Tim and Katie as one would hope.
According to Daily Mail, the couple was seen checking into Green Square’s One Global Resorts (formerly Skye Suites) separately, suggesting their TV marriage is already in trouble.
Katie reportedly attended the first dinner party solo, fuelling further speculation about a rift.
A source spilled the tea to the news outlet about an explosive argument during the couple’s honeymoon that set the tone for their rocky relationship.
“Katie and Tim were never on the same page,” the insider revealed.
“Their honeymoon was a disaster, and by the time the first dinner party rolled around, things had gone from bad to worse. They’re barely speaking at this point.” Yikes.
Apparently Tim wants “nothing to do” with MAFS 2025
If the rumours are right, Tim might end up among the MAFS stars who have left the experiment on a sour note.
Fans noticed something off in Tim’s official promo photo shared by MAFS on Instagram, with one commenter joking that it looked like it was edited on “Microsoft Windows Paint version 2003.”
The backstory? Daily Mail alleges Tim skipped the cast photoshoot entirely, unwilling to engage after filming wrapped.
A source told the publication that Tim wanted “nothing to do with the show anymore”.
“Tim felt like the experts had really let him down, and he wasn’t shy about making his frustrations known. It got to the point where he didn’t want to be associated with the show at all,” the insider added.
