MAFS expert John Aiken with MAFS 2025 groom Tim Gromie

MAFS 2025's Tim Gromie apparently wants nothing to do with the show

Almost every year, at least one of the Married At First Sight (MAFS) Brides or Grooms leaves the experiment with a sour taste in their mouth, and it appears Tim Gromie is the participant carrying on the tradition in 2025.

Tim was announced on the official MAFS Instagram page as one of the 20 participants in the 2025 experiment. However, fans have noticed that his promo photo is slightly different from that shared of the other MAFS 2025 cast members.

“They did Jake so dirty in this picture … Photoshop on Microsoft Windows Paint version 2003,” One person commented.

The other contestants—aside from Jake Luik— clearly have professional photos taken for their promo photos, which left fans wondering why Tim and Jake’s photos were different.

MAFS 2025’s Tim Gromie reportedly refused to attend a promotional photoshoot

According to Daily Mail Australia, both Tim and Jake skipped out on the promotional photoshoot. The publication reported that Jake was sick with an ear infection, however, Tim’s reason for not showing up was more scandalous.

A source told the publication that Tim wanted “nothing to do with the show anymore” after he wrapped filming.

“Tim felt like the experts had really let him down, and he wasn’t shy about making his frustrations known. It got to the point where he didn’t want to be associated with the show at all,” the insider added.

MAFS 2024 promotional photo controversy

Avid fans of MAFS will remember that there was a promotional photo controversy during the 2024 season.

Groom Simon Flocco had an announcement photo that was considerably lower quality than the other cast members.

Turns out, Simon was the runaway groom of the season, and he didn’t even make it down the aisle. So, he was well and truly out of the picture by the time the promotional photoshoot rolled around at the end of the season.

Whether that will be the same story for Tim? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Married At First Sight Season 12 will air on Channel 9 and 9Now in 2025.
