Emma Harvie reveals unseen similarity between RFDS and Colin from Accounts

Australian actor Emma Harvie is known for her roles as Chaya in RFDS and Megan in Colin From Accounts. They’re two very different shows, with RFDS tackling heavy topics and being filled with drama, while Colin From Accounts is a more light-hearted comedy. However, Emma tells Chattr there’s one similarity between the two that viewers wouldn’t expect.

“The vibe on set for Colin [From Accounts] is really light because it’s a comedy, but the vibe on RFDS is great as well. Like, everyone’s lovely. It’s a really warm environment,” Emma says. “I feel really lucky to work on both productions, actually.”

Even though RFDS is a hard-hitting drama about the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Australia, Emma loves working with the crew. The show usually films on location in country areas, such as Quorn and Port Augusta, so there becomes a bond between the cast and crew. “It’s kind of being taken out of your home base and thrust into [filming] this show… you spend more time together, because you’re away from your families,” Emma adds.

It can be “hard” to film RFDS, as the cast and crew sometimes have to battle the weather, plus there’s a lot of medical processes and jargon the cast have to get correct.

“We’re filming a lot in a short amount of time, [while] also being out in the elements. I remember there was a day where it was super windy and dusty, and the crew was standing in that for hours, and it’s actually incredible what they do,” Emma says.

Emma on why she was surprised by her role in RFDS

Emma’s character on RFDS is refreshing. She’s a former addict who falls in love, which can be unusual for a South Asian character in the Australian media landscape. She admits she was surprised by the chance to play a “love interest”, a role typically given to white Australians.

“I never thought that I would be cast as a love interest in a Channel Seven show… that you know, kind of gets that Australian… everyday person who [is] turning on free-to-air TV,” Emma explains.

“I didn’t think that someone who looks like me would be cast as a love interest in that world. I was really excited to do that, and I hope there’s more opportunities for women of colour on Australian TV.”

She acknowledges there’s still a way to go, but believes the Australian industry is “working towards that”.

Does Emma Harvie want to break into Hollywood?

There’s a trend for Australian actors to head over to Hollywood to try and make it big there, with plenty of successes. Just look at Chris Hemsworth, Nicole Kidman, Samara Weaving and more.

Emma says she’s open to the idea of nabbing a “cool role” in Hollywood, but notes that people all over the world are currently embracing Australian TV shows. “I’ve been to LA recently, and people love Australian content. They love Colin From Accounts. People have seen RFDS, we know RFDS is big in Europe. I think Australian voices are more being kind of embraced more internationally,” she says.

“I don’t know about if our stuff’s getting better, or if people are just looking outside the kind of American Zeitgeist for content, but yeah, we’re making amazing stuff.”

There are a few Home and Away stars on RFDS, so it could be a natural sidestep for Emma to make a cameo in Summer Bay or join the cast. She’s open to the idea, so could she be the next Northern Districts Hospital doctor?

“Yeah, [I’d join the cast] only if I can play like, a stalker, who you know, like sets fire to a shed and kills Alf (Ray Meagher) or something,” she jokes. “I don’t want to kill Alf, though. [I could kill] Brax? I don’t know… I’m gonna be a doctor, aren’t I? I’ll do it.”

How playing Kat in The Bold Type helped Aisha Dee prepare for Watching You

Australian actor Aisha Dee shot to international fame when she starred as social media manager turned editor-in-chief in The Bold Type, but she’s returned to her roots starring in Stan’s new Australian psychological thriller Watching You.

While The Bold Type and Watching You couldn’t be more different, Aisha told Chattr how the iconic series helped me prepare for her latest venture.

“Honestly, The Bold Type was like a training ground for me in the professional sense, in that I just spent so long on set and kind of learning how to just do the everyday, the basic stuff,” she said.

“But I think the biggest takeaway that I have from that show is that I feel like it helped me through my 20s. I did all of my messy life stuff while on that show, and learned a lot, and hopefully grew a lot. I’m a lot less chaotic than I used to be. Keyword is less!

“But, I think it taught me a lot, but less the professional side and more just kind of helped me find myself as a human.”

Aisha plays Lina, who’s a paramedic, in Watching You, which is a far cry from her portrayal of Kat’s glamorous gig working in a New York magazine office. However, Aisha said there are a couple of things the two characters have in common.

“Kat and Lina. I don’t know how to draw a line between those two girls. I guess they’re both kind of messy. They’re both cheaters. Cat cheated. Lina cheated,” she laughed.

Aisha told Chattr she was immediately drawn to Lina — a woman who cheats on her boyfriend and ends up caught in a toxic spiral with a psychopath — because she gravitates toward characters with layers and complexity.

“I always feel quite drawn to messy characters, specifically characters who make really questionable choices. Because it’s a challenge to try to find out why, and especially when I read it, I feel kind of almost defensive of them, like they’re a friend to me, then I know that it’s probably something that I should do,” she said.

Lina gets blackmailed into revealing her affair, and a string of deaths happens as a result. Aisha explained that the real challenge was finding a balance — allowing the audience to understand Lina’s choices without completely villainising her.

“There were a lot of challenging things about playing Lina. I feel very blessed that they even trusted me to do it, and also blessed that I was surrounded with so many people who were such wonderful scene partners and were able to, all of us, create the world together.”

Insider close to The Block’s Alicia defends her character: ‘Thoughtful and generous’

The Block 2025 contestant Alicia has emerged as the latest ‘villain’ on the show, after acting cagey towards fan-favourites Britt and Taz. Alicia and her husband, Sonny, recently told Britt and Taz that they didn’t deserve to win the most recent room reveal, and accused the pair of breaking the rules by working ahead on their deck.

However, former Big Brother winner Benjamin Norris has come forward to defend Alicia’s character, saying she’s a “wonderful person”.

“I’ve actually met and now know Alicia. She is a wonderful person. I get that people react to what they [see] on TV, but believe me when I say Alicia is kind, funny, thoughtful, generous and [a] great person to know,” Benjamin wrote on a popular Facebook group.

“I say this with love guys, you are watching a constructed reality show. You don’t know these people. They are reduced to moments that are designed to polarise you. I guarantee you all, Alicia is someone you would like. They edit out some people’s poor behaviour and make the others look like meanies. It’s just how these shows are made.”

When a fan pointed out that Alicia claimed she never opened her mouth to say anything bad, she was caught when producers found footage of her whipping out some “snide remarks”, Benjamin replied. “It’s a competition-based reality show. You don’t remember everything you say. Plus I think they were just speaking their truth at the time.”

The Block fans react to Alicia’s behaviour

Benjamin’s declaration about Alicia received hundreds of comments on Facebook, with the majority of them disagreeing with his opinion.

“You can’t edit out what comes out of her mouth. You are blinded because you’ve met her. She is a piece of work. Are they editing out the bits where Britt and Taz are nasty? No, because they are not those type of people. They don’t have it in them,” one fan fired back.

“Well, she has you fooled! Keep going by her rules and doing what she says and you will be fine [with] her! But if you say the word ‘no’, disagree with her or don’t follow her rules, watch your back! She will turn on you and it won’t be fun,” a third chimed in.

However, there were some fans who came to bat for Alicia and supported Benjamin’s comments.

“Honestly, I really like her on The Block! There are no contestants that I don’t like this season. Humans have flaws… that doesn’t make them bad people,” a fan pointed out.

“I honestly don’t see what all the fuss is about. I see pretty much everything Alicia says as ‘tongue in cheek’. If I had consistently produced quality rooms compared to those that won, I’d be bloody fuming. And we know the producers incite the contestants to give ‘salty’ content and create the drama,” another remarked.

“It’s all scripted by the producers of the show to create more drama so more people will watch. It’s a numbers game, pure and simple now. All reality shows are the same. Whoever gets the most viewers win,” a third wrote.

“I absolutely love her energy and her laugh. You can tell she is fiercely loyal and an amazing mum and wife… I don’t think she means any harm whatsoever,” another said. “It’s such unrealistic pressure and I feel for all of them.”

Now that Britt and Taz have also won the baking challenge on The Block, the animosity amongst the contestants is surely going to grow. Fingers crossed there aren’t any other snide comments from Alicia.

Tensions soar as The Block’s Taz and Britt win the baking challenge: ‘Doesn’t require much talent’

Britt and Taz have continued their winning streak on The Block, after winning the Bake Off challenge in the most recent episode, with their Tim Tam cinnamon scrolls (or doughnuts, depending on how you looked at them) winning over the hearts and taste buds of the Country Women’s Association judges.

If you’re a little confused, yes, The Block contestants had to take a break from planning and building houses to bake a sweet treat that featured an Arnotts biscuit, with the winner earning $10,000. The challenge aimed to give the teams a break from the renovations and a chance to use their brand new kitchens.

With some formidable judges ahead of them, Britt and Taz may not have necessarily had the best-looking sweet treat on arrival, but the taste of their Tim Tam Smash scrolls won over the three judges Lorraine, Charlotte and Peta.

The Block’s Britt and Taz face more wrath from co-stars

While the CWA ladies were left satisfied, Britt and Taz’s co-stars were less than happy for the pair taking out another challenge, after a string of successes this week. Notably, no one clapped or congratulated them and, well, their former BFFs Sonny and Alicia looked less than impressed, something fans quickly picked up on.

While their co-stars may not have been happy for Britt and Taz, The Block fans certainly were.

“So glad they won. This will potentially set the others off on another hissy fit,” one person commented on a Facebook thread on a Block fanpage, with another fan agreeing, “Did you see the other contestants’ faces? Priceless.”

“How pissed off did Alicia look,” another said, with others also pointing out she looked “sour”.

Some fans couldn’t help but laugh at the commentary from the three judges when it came to Alicia’s lemon-slice, with Lorraine savagely saying it didn’t need “much talent” to make it.

“The judging was gold,” one person commended.

“I still keep giggling about ‘making a lemon slice doesn’t require much talent’ quote,” another said, with someone agreeing, “Best quote of the season.”

And Blockheads were a bit baffled by the whole baking competition in general. “Imagine a baking show that has a segment on building a house. ‘Okay, Nana, now here’s a bonus round, so let’s start installing roof insulation,” one person joked on Reddit.

Alicia and Britt bonded early in the season, but cracks started to show after Britt left Alicia out of a shopping trip and struck up a friendship with 2023 winner Steph Ottavio. Things then reached a boiling point earlier this week, when Britt and Taz got a head start on their deck, prompting Sonny and Alicia to call a Body Corp meeting to confront them.

The Body Corp debate got messy, and the two couples stayed behind to hash it out. While Sonny apologised for making snide comments about Britt and Taz’s back-of-house win, Alicia denied making any digs.

When asked by Chattr where their relationship stood with Sonny and Alicia now, Britt and Taz’s answer didn’t seem like there was any love lost between the teams.

“We’re all civil. We’re all adults,” Taz explained, adding that there wasn’t any outright animosity. “Everyone is civil, but from The Block, and even extending on, we just sort of stay in our own lane.”

When asked about the lack of support from their co-stars, the couple credited their strong relationship for getting them through the trying times.

“That’s one of the best things to come out of The Block, just how good our relationship was during and also after, because we just could handle anything,” Taz said.

“But, we were never out to get anyone or to stitch people up. We were just there to build this bloody house, and hopefully set the kids up afterwards. So the fact that our relationship stood this test quite easily, like, we didn’t fight, we just got on with it.”

How Britt and Taz knew that Han and Can were criticising them behind their backs

After taking out the back-of-house room reveal, Britt and Taz were treated to a romantic overnight getaway by The Block. But while they were away, some of the cast used the Chump’s Dinner as a chance to speculate that the couple didn’t deserve the win.

Later in the week, Britt came across Han struggling to complete her shed and offered to help her by letting her use their tradies. However, Taz pointed out that Han and Can had slammed them earlier in the week over their win — and the fact that they’d worked ahead on their decks — but decided to be the bigger person and help out the girls.

But, while Sonny and Alicia confronted Britt and Taz to their faces, Han and Can only rinsed the winning couple behind their backs, so how did they know what was said?

During an interview with Chattr, Britt revealed that it was Emma who came to her and told her about what Han and Can said at the Chump’s dinner.

“We really copped the Body Corp, like the brunt of it… We were just like attacked,” Taz explained, referring to a meeting called by Sonny and Alicia the following day over them working ahead on their decks, which was against the rules.

“Emma wasn’t there. Emma was doing something,” he added.

“She was out, she came out afterwards, and she said, ‘Look, are you okay?’ And gave me a big cuddle. And she was like, I want you to know that we didn’t all, like, it wasn’t like a targeted thing about you last night [at the dinner],” Britt explained.

“We didn’t all feel the same way, like us and the boys didn’t really say much or do much, but it was mainly house two and house four who had something to say.”

“So that’s how we sort of knew that they weren’t saying the nicest things about us at the dinner.”

Why did Britt and Taz decide to help our Han and Can?

As viewers saw in Wednesday’s episode of The Block, Taz admitted he was hesitant to help the girls after hearing what they’d said about them at the Chump’s Dinner.

“That’s where I was coming from, because we knew we absolutely got torn to shreds,” Taz explained.

However, he said that after listening to Britt’s point of view, he knew that helping Han and Can was the right thing to do.

“Britt was like, it’s not who we are, we help people even when they don’t like us, or don’t want us to help. That’s what we do. And that sort of brought me back down when Britt said that, I was like, ‘You know what? That’s exactly right.”

Britt added that, for her, it was always about staying true to herself.

“Although you know they might not have said the nicest things about us or whatever, that you know, we don’t have to carry ourselves in that same manner.”

Home and Away’s Matt Evans speaks out about Theo’s tragic death

Well, Home and Away fans, it’s happened. Our beloved Theo got hit by a car driven by that nasty and corrupt councilman Craig Wendell and he’s dead. All while trying to protect the love of his life, Lacey. And just after a wedding too!

It’s going to take us some time to move on from this one.

Home and Away star Matt Evans shot Theo’s last scenes earlier this year, and tells Chattr that he’s proud of his character’s ‘heroic’ final act.

“I actually love that it was written that way was. So it’s like, quite a heroic way to go out. But obviously, like, you know, I knew that I was going to be parting ways with the show, and once I saw the storyline that I was going to be, that Thea was going to be dying, I quite liked it, because I knew it was going to be a big, impactful story,” he said. “But to see the way that he goes is really good, he dies a hero.”

Home and Away’s Matt Evans reveals what fans can expect from tonight’s episode

Wednesday night’s episode ended with Theo being hit by the car and a distraught Lacey trying to get him to open his eyes.

Matt teases that there’s going to be some tear-jerking moments to come, saying he watched it all unfold after shooting his last scenes.

“[It’s] just a lot of emotion. And I was there to watch it happen as well, like because they filmed it straight after my final episode,” he tells Chattr. “So I can say, from my experience, that it’s a very intense and sad episode. So if they [fans] were crying last night, they’re going to need some tissues tonight!”

Some characters in Summer Bay just don’t get happy endings unfortunately. Matt says had Theo not met his untimely end, music would’ve been a good way for him to go out.

“Well, originally, I wanted him to go and pursue a music career. That would have been really cool, but that story was already given to Kirby!” Matt laughed.

Matt Evans reveals what’s next for him post-Home and Away

Matt’s focusing on acting opportunities again for now, but he’s never saying no to music.

“Well, I’ve been back auditioning again, and just really enjoying that process for acting. I’m loving it, it just feels like it’s really aligning for me right now,” he shared.

“And that doesn’t mean that I’ll never go back to music, but at the moment, acting has been taking priority for me, and I feel like I can always change my mind and move between the two.”

And his final message to Home and Away fans?

“Thanks so much for the support towards as a character over the last four years. I think a lot of that positivity and the appreciation for the character is what kept me going at some points as well,” he said. “I really hope that you all enjoyed Theo as much as I did, and it was a really great chapter of my life.”

Melissa Leong on why she opened up about experiencing sexual abuse in her memoir Guts

Former MasterChef Australia host Melissa Leong has bravely opened up about experiencing sexual abuse while working in the hospitality industry, and she’s told Chattr why she decided to share her story now.

Melissa, who also competed on The Amazing Race Australia, reflects on her experience in her new memoir Guts: A Memoir of Food, Failure and Taking Impossible Chances. In a post-elimination interview, she spoke about the importance of having these tough conversations and noted the growing awareness of sexual harassment in hospitality in recent years.

“I think that it’s very dangerous to generalise about matters such as sexual abuse. I think that no industry or community is exempt from these things happening,” she said.

“I think the difference is right now, in hospitality, there is a groundswell of very brave people— I’m not speaking of myself, I’m speaking about some of the other articles and people that have spoken up prior to [my book].

“They’re so brave in coming forward and speaking up about things that we know have been going on in the industry for a very long time. So the difference is that there is a greater willingness to speak up now more than ever. And I hope that that happens for all industries and all communities.”

Why Melissa Leong decided to speak up about her own experience

Melissa admitted that, as a private person, opening up about such a difficult experience wasn’t easy, but she felt it was important to break her silence and help others who may have gone through similar situations.

“I always said that I will use whatever platform I have for as long as I have it, in order to hopefully contribute something constructive to conversations, especially difficult conversations, and when this happened to me — when the rape happened to me — I was not schooled on matters of consent the way that maybe we know to talk about consent now,” she said.

“I know that we joke, you know, there are jokes on the internet about consent and all the rest of it, but the truth is, it matters. It matters. It is a line in the sand that must be drawn, and when it is crossed. That’s not right.

“And so as much as I am a private person, I think that it is important to share information that will help other people, that will maybe embolden people to be more in command of their boundaries and their knowledge of what is right and wrong, and that it is okay to speak up, and that the shame that has been heaped on you is not yours to hold, it’s for the perpetrator.”

The Block’s Britt and Taz explain why they won the energy efficiency challenge amid backlash

Britt and Taz had the last laugh on The Block, after adding an extra $30,000 to their budget this week, thanks to two challenge wins and a triumphant room reveal, which they were criticised by other contestants over.

One of those challenge wins was for having the most energy-efficient house, but the other contestants didn’t think Britt and Taz were deserving of the win.

“There’s no way in hell they should have won that, at all, because their whole house has underfloor heating, which is not energy efficient,” Mat said in a producer-led interview.

However, according to Taz, that’s exactly why they won.

“The underfloor heating actually worked in our favour, curing it, because when you have the underfloor heating, you’re not running your [reverse cycle] air cons [on heat] all the time,” Taz told Chattr.

“So you don’t really need, and if you’ve chucked a fire on with the underfloor heating, it’s like, your house is so toasty. But everyone else here — we walk through the houses — and you have to have the aircon blasting [on heat] all the time, whereas with us, you actually don’t need to run aircon. So you can just run underfloor heating, which is a lot cheaper, a lot more sustainable than running the aircon all the time.”

Britt and Taz were working towards winning the energy efficiency challenge all season

While Britt and Taz’s energy efficiency challenge win might have come as a surprise to the other Blockheads, the couple have been making smart, sustainable choices all season long.

“Scotty Cam came up to us and said it looks like you were the only ones that actually gave any thought to the sustainability challenge. We’ve been harping on about that since before we started,” Taz told Chattr.

“We’ve harped on about this since day one. We have had our eyes on that prize, making sure that we have the most sustainable house on The Block,” Britt added.

Of course, Britt and Taz’s kitchen was stacked with energy-efficient appliances; however, their approach has been a full-season strategy.

“Episode Two, I was digging up a fruit orchard to try and replant them,” Taz explained. “We just harped on every week about sustainability, because that’s what we’re about, especially where we’re from, and that as well. So we didn’t actually think it was going to be a contest, but yeah, I think Scotty reminding us that was good as well. He’s like, ‘Yeah, you guys are the only ones that really put up a chat about it.'”

All the questions I have after Cash and Eden’s wedding on Home and Away

Cash and Eden finally tied the knot after years of triumphs and tribulations in a recent episode of Home and Away, and while the wedding episode went off without any drama (though we know it’s coming), it did leave me with some burning questions.

As the first part of the wedding ended with Eden and Cash looking out at the country sunset and happily knowing they’ll spend the rest of their lives together, tonight’s promo, of course, foreshadows a deadly car crash.

While we can rest easy knowing that the happy couple won’t be in a car accident that will send them soaring off a bridge Neighbours-style, until we await who dies tonight, I have some simple questions I need Home and Away to answer about the wedding episode.

1. Who were all the randoms filling out the seats at the wedding?
2. Could Marilyn not have closed the diner for the day to attend the wedding, given half the town should be at the wedding anyway?
3. Why had Eden, a musician, not picked any music to walk down the aisle to?
4. And why did Remi say he was going to play her music down the aisle but stopped by the time she hit the aisle? Where did he put his guitar?!

5. What’s the connection between Cash’s foster dad and Eden’s mum?
6. Will we see more of them if there’s a little sexual tension there?
7. Could Cash at least try to look happy?
8. Why is Theo acting like a pre-teen getting his phone out mid-ceremony and not a normal adult?
9. Like, I know he’s worried about Lacey but could it have waited til after the vows?

The Block’s Britt and Taz on where they stand with Sonny and Alicia now: ‘Stay in our own lane’

Week 10 of The Block 2025 has seen tensions flare between former besties Sonny and Alicia and Britt and Taz, so where does their friendship stand now?

Alicia and Britt bonded early in the season, but cracks started to show after Britt left Alicia out of a shopping trip and struck up a friendship with 2023 winner Steph Ottavio. Things then reached a boiling point this week when Britt and Taz got a head start on their deck, prompting Sonny and Alicia to call a Body Corp meeting to confront them.

The Body Corp turned into a bit of a showdown, and the two couples stayed behind to hash it out. While Sonny apologised for making snide comments about Britt and Taz’s back-of-house win, Alicia stood firm, flatly denying she’d ever made any digs.

When asked by Chattr where their relationship stood with Sonny and Alicia now, Britt and Taz’s answer didn’t seem like there was any love lost between the teams.

“We’re all civil. We’re all adults,” Taz explained, adding that there wasn’t any outright animosity.

“Gone are the previous years where people just absolutely hated each other and wouldn’t be in the same room as each other, but, like, it’s none of that this year. It’s just everyone is civil, but from The Block, and even extending on, we just sort of stay in our own lane.”

Did the feud with the other contestants bring Britt and Taz closer?

Britt and Taz enjoyed a pretty harmonious run in the first half of The Block 2025, but things shifted in Week 9 when they worked ahead on their decks and scored the back-of-house room reveal win, sparking criticism from the other contestants.

While the married couple told Chattr that it was disappointing that none of the other teams rallied behind them to celebrate their win, they said the silver lining was that their strong relationship meant they had the support of one another.

“That’s one of the best things to come out of The Block, just how good our relationship was during and also after, because we just could handle anything.

“But, we were never out to get anyone or to stitch people up. We were just there to build this bloody house, and hopefully set the kids up afterwards. So the fact that our relationship stood this test quite easily, like, we didn’t fight, we just got on with it.

“At the end of every day, it was just so good going back to just being it to us. And that follows into the post-show as well. We never attacked each other, we never called each other out, we just worked as a team, and got the job done.

The Block 2025 airs on Sundays at 7:30pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Two MKR 2025 teams have been accused of ‘cheating’

Two My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2025 teams have been at the centre of debate recently, with both Amy and Tan’s professional cooking experience coming under fire. Amy works as a private cook, while Tan manages multiple restaurants, but claims he doesn’t work in the kitchen.

Judge Manu Feildel confirmed that as long as nobody is a qualified chef, they’re allowed to compete on MKR. However, Michael and Rielli are convinced it’s “cheating” and want to see both Mark and Tan and Amy and Lara eliminated.

“I don’t think either of them deserve[s] to be in the competition. I think it’s cheating. I think both of them, both teams, have got professional cooking experience, which is not supposed to be allowed in the competition,” Michael tells Chattr. “Those two teams shouldn’t be allowed to compete.”

Rielli echoes Michael’s opinion, saying it’s “unfair” that these two teams are currently in the running for the $100,000 prize. “If you’re being paid to cook, that’s your job, that you work in a profession… regardless if you have a piece of paper or not,” she exclaims. “People say we are threatened. Of course I’m threatened! I haven’t cooked for, you know, famous people, I haven’t cooked for a restaurant of 80 people.

“I’m coming into a competition expecting even playing fields, and that’s just not what we got.”

Michael also claims that somebody in Adelaide visited a restaurant that Tan manages. “They had an amazing meal, and they asked to speak with the chef, and Tan came out. Big surprise, big surprise,” he alleges.

There’s no proof the source is telling the truth, and there’s also the possibility that Tan started cooking after competing on MKR, but Michael believes that’s “highly unlikely”.

Rielli also tells us that she doesn’t think Mark and Tan and Amy and Lara add anything to the competition. “In general, they don’t really give anything to the table. They’re just annoying and boring,” she fires out.

Amy and Tan respond to ‘professional chef’ allegations

Tan previously told Chattr he has no time to cook in his restaurants as he’s too busy working as the manager.

“I am not a professional chef,” he said. “I have helped my parents in the kitchen, but [that wasn’t a] commercial setting, and that was a very long time ago when I was younger.

“I’ve got five businesses to manage, so I don’t have time [to go] in the kitchen.”

Amy also confirmed that she’s never had any formal training, so she deserves to be competing on MKR, a competition for home cooks.

“I am not a chef. Never have been, never been trained, nothing. We wouldn’t be here in the competition if we were; everyone sitting at the table is a home cook, everyone.

“Michael just doesn’t know when to stop. And I think that’s where he goes wrong.”

Amy and Lara are up next to cook in the Instant Round, and it will be either them or Maria and Bailey who will go home. Will Amy’s private cook experience pay off?

MAFS’ Jessika Power reveals eye-watering OnlyFans earnings: ‘I can earn a wage in a day’

Former Married At First Sight (MAFS) star Jessika Power helped create the reality TV to OnlyFans pipeline, with stars like Hayley Vernon, Olivia Frazer and Bronte Schofield following in her footsteps. According to Social Rise, the adult content creation website OnlyFans has over 305 million users worldwide, so it’s no surprise that Jessika is making a decent living.

“You get out what you put in. So basically, if I put in say two [to] three hours a day, I could earn quite good money. If I’m doing about three [to] four hours a day… I can earn a [weekly] wage in a day, somebody’s [weekly] wage in a day,” Jessika tells Chattr.

“It’s not a lot of work, and it’s fun. I’m having fun while I’m doing it. I’m not [sitting] behind a desk slaving away for a paycheque at the end of the week for $900, like I’m doing that for one video.”

The former MAFS star can make around $20,000 per week if she works hard. Her highest earning month so far was $190,000 — so if she managed to hit that every single month for a year, she’d pocket $2.28 million. Not too shabby!

While the influencer does think it’s more “fun” than a desk job, she does admit that it comes with its own unique challenges. All this to say, she’s definitely deserving of her massive income.

“I think it’s harder than some other work sometimes, because you are exposing yourself and you are sort of letting people critique you in ways that you… never thought would be critiqued,” Jessika muses.

“It can be harder, but it’s definitely rewarding as well at the end of the day. I mean, the paycheque [is] good.”

MAFS’ Jessika Power responds to OnlyFans criticism

Being an OnlyFans creator or sex worker also comes with its fair share of criticism. Even Jessika’s own family members raised their eyebrows when she first started in the industry.

“People see it as like, it’s not legitimate work. But I mean, I still pay my freaking tax more than most people,” she says.

“My family were a bit taken aback when I started doing online work… but I mean, I’m a grown adult. I’m able to make my own choices.”

While Olivia Frazer previously told Yahoo! Lifestyle she was “pressured” into exposing more of her body than she had originally planned to on OnlyFans, Jessika’s experience has been the opposite.

“I’ve never felt pressured to do anything [in the sex industry]. I’ve never felt pressured to have to expose more than I’ve exposed. It’s all about personal growth,” she says.

For some MAFS contestants, their stints on OnlyFans are short-lived — like Bronte Schofield, who cashed in after MAFS 2023 aired — but Jessika’s career has stayed steady since she appeared on the show in 2019.

With a loyal fanbase and numerous reality TV opportunities still popping up for the media personality, it’s no wonder she’s thriving in the world of OnlyFans.

MKR’s Michael thinks Manu is targeting him and is ‘completely wrong’

My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2025’s meat master, Michael, stumbled a little during the second Instant Restaurant round, when his duck was deemed “dry” by the contestants and the judges. While Rielli’s puff pastry was called “perfect”, judge Manu Feildel criticised Michael for not adding a sauce or jus to the Confit Duck Tart with Caramelised Onion entrée.

In the kitchen, Michael said he was “pissed off” and firmly disagreed with the professional chef’s comments. He tells Chattr he believes that Manu is in the wrong, as his duck was cooked well.

“Obviously, Manu and I had some discussions, and I think Manu is just trying to prove a point here. I think he’s got it completely wrong. I mean, he’s just trying to put his foot in the ground and make a stance against me,” Michael claims.

“I think every single person at the table is going to be picking on me. I think every single person at the table is going to be judging me, not based on the food, but based on what our interactions at the table [have been].”

The MKR contestant says he accepts being judged harshly due to his behaviour, because he stands behind his food.

“I know exactly what I deliver. I taste all my food before it goes out, and if they want to lie to themselves, that’s Manu’s fault.”

After Michael received the note from the judges, Rielli told producers that her partner “can’t handle criticism”. However, she doesn’t think that it’s necessarily a negative thing.

“I think Michael just oozes confidence and optimism and positivity, and all of that,” Rielli explains. “So when he gets criticism, he refuses to believe it, because I think he genuinely thinks it’s not true. I don’t think it’s [a] delusion.

“I just think he truly believes that he’s right and they’re wrong. So I don’t think he can take criticism because he doesn’t believe he’s ever wrong.”

MKR’s Michael and Rielli believe they can win the competition

While Michael and Rielli received the lowest team score yet, their judges’ score was much higher than their first Instant Restaurant, and they now sit above OG cooks, Lol, Lil, Maria and Bailey.

“We definitely redeemed ourselves,” Michael says, before Rielli adds, “I enjoyed this cook a lot more than the first one.

“I feel like we worked really well together, and I was really happy with what we put out, and I love everything that we cooked. So redemption was 100 per cent there, and it shows in the score as well.”

With Michael and Rielli’s sitting in third place on the MKR Leaderboard, there’s no chance of them going home after this Instant Restaurant round. They’re looking forward to the next challenge, and believe they have what it takes to go all the way.

“100 per cent we could win [MKR],” Rielli says. “[I’m excited for the] drama [to be] put aside [so] the cooking shines.”

Somehow, we think that while Michael and Rielli are still in the competition, there will be plenty more drama to come.

The Amazing Race’s Melissa Leong spills on whether she prefers being a judge or contestant

From serving up critiques on MasterChef Australia and Dessert Masters to competing in epic food challenges on The Amazing Race Australia, Melissa Leong traded in the judge’s chair to be a contestant— and she’s revealed which one she prefers.

Melissa and Leah Wilson placed sixth on The Amazing Race Australia, and were sent packing in Episode 9 after being the last team to hit the mat. In a post-elimination interview with Chattr, Melissa admitted that she prefers judging to competing.

“The shoe is definitely on the other foot with this particular show, isn’t it? I’m very comfortable in Beau’s position, you know, being standing there on the mat, and you know, knowing what’s going on with the challenges and who’s doing what and all of the rest of it,” she explained.

“I can say now that the shoe has been put on the other foot, that I much prefer being in the driver’s seat,” she added.

Melissa explained that while she’d rather be in a position of power on a reality show, stepping into the shoes of a contestant gave her an even deeper appreciation for what they go through.

“But having said that, look, I’ve always had a huge amount of respect for contestants, especially when I’ve been judging on MasterChef, or any of the other shows that I’ve been on, and it just really drives home how much effort and heart must go into it, and I really respect every single contestant that I have ever judged for doing their very, very best, because you have no control over the remains of the day. You don’t know how you’re going to respond, and you have to just be with yourself in it. And that’s a really confronting thing for a lot of people to do, I think.”

Had Melissa been asked to do The Amazing Race before?

Melissa has cemented herself as one of Channel 10’s most well-known faces thanks to her judging stints on MasterChef Australia and Dessert Masters — so her leap into The Amazing Race felt like a natural next step. However, she told Chattr, this season was actually the first time she’d been invited to join the cast.

“This is the first for me. Look, I haven’t been in the television space for a great deal of time, and you know, a big chunk of that was in the pandemic,” she explained.

“So to be, this is an iconic show. It’s renowned around the world, and especially the Australian format is particularly loved. So it was a real honour to be asked to do it. And I mean, of course, you’re going to say you’re going to do it — you’re going to do your best to try and make it happen, aren’t you?”

The celebrated food critic said she didn’t think twice when the opportunity landed in her lap.

“I think when you are offered the proposition of running around the world, doing zany and amazing things in aid of charity. I mean, that’s a pretty compelling thing to be asked to do. So it didn’t require many brain cells to say yes to that one.”

MKR’s Michael and Rielli call out Mark’s ‘hypocritical’ moment: ‘A fool’

Meat master Michael and partner Rielli wowed judges Manu and Colin with their rack of lamb during their My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2025 Instant Restaurant, but not everybody around the table was happy.

While Mark previously told Chattr that Michael was “rude and disrespectful” for interrupting judging during their Instant Restaurant, he ended up doing the very same thing.

When Manu told Michael his lamb was cooked to perfection, Mark interrupted and said, “Nah, I think it should be cooked a bit more. Do you think that’s cooked? Has that fat there been cooked?”

Rielli tells Chattr Mark has “shot himself in the foot” with that moment, and labels him a “hypocrite”.

“To make an uproar about Michael being disrespectful and cutting Tan’s moment off only to do the same thing. That’s a hypocrite, and that’s embarrassing,” she exclaims.

“Mark wants to be Michael. Mark speaks up because he wants to be the head of the table. He just can’t, because nobody cares what he says.”

Michael wasn’t annoyed by Mark’s interruption; instead, he says he felt “joy”.

“The fact that Mark would make a fool of himself in front of everyone and act as though he knows something [was satisfying], he acts as though he’s better than the professional chefs, you know,” Michael says.

“Only the meat master knows when the meat is cooked to perfection, not Mark the mini-Michael pretender.”

Rielli and Michael call out the MKR gatecrashers for strategic scoring

Michael and Rielli received the lowest team score from the entire Instant Restaurant rounds yet, but this didn’t match up with the judges’ scores. They believe people were judging them based on if they liked them as people, rather than on the merits of their food alone.

Rielli says everybody’s “true colours” are showing now, and believes some contestants have been “cheating”.

“How can we get a lower team average than Lol, Lil and Maria and Bailey, but still be higher [on the leaderboard] than both of them? That didn’t make sense,” she says.

“That’s strategic scoring, and that’s cheating. You’re a cheater.”

Thanks to Michael and Rielli’s high scores from the judges, they are now safe from elimination. Will it be Maria and Bailey or Amy and Lara going home next week?

Jessika Power on why she’s so pleased to be attending SXhibition this year: ‘Come together’

Former Married At First Sight (MAFS) star Jessika Power has carved out a successful career as a sex worker, with a large following on adult content creation platform OnlyFans. While she’s used to interacting with fans from behind a screen, she’s been invited to SXhibition in Brisbane as a celebrity guest.

The lifestyle and relationship festival is billed as a space where adults can celebrate desires and be educated without judgment. “SXhibition is that space — a bold, vibrant and inclusive event where sensuality is not just accepted, but celebrated,” the website reads.

Jessika will be meeting fans, holding a photo booth and potentially hosting some events at SXhibition — and she couldn’t be more excited to celebrate the sex industry.

“They’ve asked me to come down as a celebrity guest, just to do some signing. I do OnlyFans as well, so I’m quite familiar with the industry, and what they’re trying to achieve, the equality and to be comfortable within your own skin there,” Jessika tells Chattr.

“[It’s] definitely important to have these events where we, us as a community, can come together and we can showcase… it’s not all just doom and gloom and sex and this. It’s about feeling comfortable. It’s about feeling confident. It’s about opening up your eyes to different parts of what you’re interested in.”

The Big Brother star adds that she’s never felt “pressure” when working in the sex industry, so it’s more about celebrating each other and having fun.

“I’ve never felt pressured to do anything. I’ve never felt pressured to have to expose more than I’ve exposed,” she adds.

The former ‘villain’ has had her share of criticism, both online and from her own family, but it doesn’t faze her one bit. “My family were a bit taken aback when I started doing online work, I work with OF, but I mean, I’m a grown adult. I’m able to make my own choices,” the MAFS star says.

“Yeah, some people criticise, but I mean… It’s all how you just take it in, isn’t it?”

Jessika Power likes to connect with her OnlyFans customers

Many OnlyFans creators use a team to help manage their accounts, and when clients talk to their favourite OnlyFans personalities, it’s not always them behind the screen. Jessika says it’s important for her to speak directly to customers.

“I’m at a point in my life where I do have the time to monitor the page myself, and I think my fans, they much prefer that where I can, I’m engaging with them. It’s one-on-one. It’s not somebody else,” she explains.

“I know a lot of creators they do use like chatters, and they use people online to sort of get it together… when they talk… they’re talking to me.”

This also means that when the reality TV star makes appearances at conventions like SXhbition, she won’t get “caught out” by any of her fans, for something a team member has said on her behalf. It’s a win-win!

MKR’s Rielli reveals unseen moment when Mark tried to fight Michael: ‘Just childish’

There was drama on My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2025 during Lol and Lil’s Instant Restaurant, with Mark storming outside after Rielli made a lighthearted dig at his height. While Mark told Chattr he thinks Michael and Rielli are “rude and disrespectful people”, the couple claim there was a big chunk of the night that was cut from the episode, which doesn’t paint Mark in such a good light.

According to Michael, Mark took some personal jabs at him, saying that he was a “loser” who looked like he “grew up with no friends”. Plus, Mark wanted to fight Michael outside — which he confirmed on his Instagram Story.

“What you didn’t see… is that [Mark] told Michael to come outside, insinuating he wanted to fight and handle the conversation with violence. So I just think, I don’t know. That’s more of a personal attack than what I said,” Rielli tells Chattr.

“Mark likes to play innocent. But one, he’s not. And two, at least I was the bigger person who apologised and knew I was in the wrong. Mark is just childish and couldn’t even be bothered to talk to me or look me in the eye when I tried to apologise.”

While Rielli said she regretted her joke at the time, she no longer does. Mark has been fuelling the fire online and sharing messages from his friends, including one that says, “Bro, I’ll help you bash this Michael. Genuine flop”.

The MKR contestant says she usually likes to approach interviews in a “light-hearted” way, because she knows how much pressure contestants are under during the Instant Restaurant rounds, but believes Mark has taken it a step too far.

“Mark is really showing [his] true colours outside of filming… there’s really no reason to be posting hate comments and bashing about Michael on your public Instagram Story,” Rielli explains. “I don’t think there’s any right time to be saying it’s okay to ‘bash’ somebody. But you know, if they want to make me out to be the bad guy about calling somebody short, then I think people really need to get their priorities in order.”

Rielli calls out MKR contestants for adding to Michael’s hate train

Michael has emerged as one of the most divisive contestants on MKR this year, with some labelling him as a ‘villain’. However, his partner Rielli isn’t pleased with how gatecrashers Mark, Lara and Amy have been piling on outside of the show.

“We’ve had a lot of beef with Mel and Jacinta. Do you see Mel and Jacinta going online and promoting violence against Michael, or creating pages to hate Michael? Amy and Lara have created a page on TikTok which primarily just posts videos of Michael talking and it’s promoting hate against Michael,” Rielli claims.

“Do you see Michael and I posting about other contestants? Or trying to egg on hate comments? No, because we’re genuine people who have better things to do than to worry about what other people are doing. It’s just sad. It honestly infuriates me so much.”

Michael and Rielli are next to cook in the Instant Restaurant round, so will their beef with the gatecrashers affect their place on the MKR leaderboard? We’ll have to wait and see.

The Block’s Britt and Taz took out the win for their final interior rooms, but instead of receiving congratulations from their castmates, they were met with insults about how their rooms weren’t deserving.

Perhaps the most vocal among the bunch was Britt’s former bestie, Alicia, and her husband, Sonny, who told Britt and Taz to their faces that they thought Han and Can should have won the week.

When the couple headed off to Samurai Villas as part of their reward for their win, the rest of the cast met for their weekly dinner at Blackwood Hotel and openly vented their frustration over Brit and Taz’s win and the fact that they broke a rule by working ahead on their deck.

During an interview with Chattr, Britt and Taz admitted it was deflating to have their win overshadowed by criticism from their castmates.

“We were very disappointed,” Taz told Chattr. “We were very flat, you know, because we’ve all been through it. We’ve had great wins, and then we’ve had some losses, and during the losses, I feel like, you know, we’re there for people just as much as we are during the wins. And we get up and around people. So to have no one really hyping around us, it was pretty flat.”

Britt agreed, telling Chattr that the criticism from their castmates cast a shadow over their win.

“Because you’re feeling high, and then to just be quickly brought back down with, you know, comments about your space that you’ve put so much time and effort and soul into. So, it is a bit hard to hear that, but, you know, just proves back to the point that we’re just really, just trying to stay in our lane. And, you know, it’s trying to stay focused on ourselves and trying to enjoy our time here.”

While it was clear to viewers that Sonny and Alicia weren’t thrilled about Britt and Taz’s victory, the Blackwood dinner made it seem like the entire cast felt they didn’t deserve it. But according to Britt and Taz, it was really just two teams who led the charge with relentless criticism.

“It was not so much all the other teams. Just obviously our neighbours, Sonny and Leish and Hannah and Can had their issues,” Taz said.

He added that while he agreed that Han and Can did a great job on their final interiors, he didn’t agree with the idea that his and Britt’s rooms weren’t worthy of the win.

“We understand the frustration from them; [Han and Can’s rooms] were absolutely stunning. [The judges’] critiques were that they weren’t very much Daylesford, but that might work in their favour. But yes, we said it ourselves, it was unbelievable.”

Brit pointed out that she thinks Sonny and Alicia’s heated reaction ran much deeper than not believing her and Taz’s room deserved the win.

“They haven’t won [a room reveal], so they’re feeling the pressure, and you know the way they play the game is coming out, and that’s not how we play the game,” she said.

The Block 2025 airs on Sundays at 7:30pm and Monday – Wednesday at 7pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

MKR’s Mark responds to Rielli’s sledge about his height

Things got heated on My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2025 tonight after Rielli grew frustrated with Mark’s consistent digs about Michael’s buttered beef tongue, which only scored a three from the judges.

When Mark said he could guarantee he was better at cooking meat than Michael, Rielli replied with a scathing, “When you can reach the bench you can say that”, insulting Mark’s height. Mark responded by storming off and was comforted by Tan outside the house.

Mark tells Chattr he thinks both Michael and Rielli are “rude and disrespectful people”, and says that while he wasn’t “phased” by the sledge, he didn’t feel the need to stick around at the table to be insulted.

“Obviously, I’m not going to sit around and be disrespected by people and listen to their sort of crap and [it’s] funny, like I was the third-tallest person on the show other than those two,” Mark says.

“I’m not that short, but you know, obviously they’re just doing it because they got a three. They just want to somehow get back at us.”

Rielli did feel remorse and apologised to Mark when he came back to the table, but the MKR contestant wasn’t buying it.

“She’s just doing it for the cameras, I guess. She’s trying to look nice, but I think, yeah, at the end of the day she’s got Michael’s back,” Mark claims.

Are Mark and Tan friends with Michael and Rielli after MKR?

Even though Mark and Tan have clashed heavily with Michael and Rielli on screen, according to the home cooks, there’s no bad blood between them.

“We’re all good with them. You know, at the end of the day, it’s like when you jump onto a field or something in a game, you know you’re going to be competitive,” Mark explains.

“But off the field, you know what I mean, it’s different. I don’t think they’re bad people. I think they’re quite nice, but I think they probably just go a little bit far with certain things.”

Michael and Rielli are next to cook, and Mark and Tan don’t have high hopes for their second Instant Restaurant.

“I don’t think that they’ll do as well [as they think they will],” Tan says.

“If it’s like his tongue, it’s not going to be very good,” Mark jokes.

As per a bet made earlier in the season, whoever has the lowest score out of these two teams will be required to do a shoey out of Manu’s boot. It’s going to be very interesting.

MAFS’ Nasser reveals spicy reason why he was dropped from The Traitors Australia 2026

Former Married At First Sight (MAFS) contestant Nasser Sultan was apparently supposed to be part of The Traitors Australia 2026 celebrity cast. However, after a long casting process, he wasn’t asked to the castle for the devious game, which is supposedly filming in New Zealand at the moment.

He tells Chattr it’s “the biggest disappointment [and] let down in Australia’s reality TV history”, that he didn’t make it on The Traitors Australia Season 3. His suspicion is that some other former reality TV stars made it a non-negotiable that Nasser couldn’t participate on the show, which is spicy.

“I did like over an hour and 20 minutes Zoom interview… and she said, ‘Oh my god, we know all about you, we would love to have you on’,” Nasser claims. “She said, ‘Look, that’s a big tick for me. I think I’d love to have you on board. I’ve got to go back to my producers’.

“She went back, made me wait a month, and then came back and wrote an email saying, ‘Oh sorry, he missed out’.”

The former MAFS groom also claims he has been approached for numerous Channel 10 shows but never made it to the final cut, including The Bachelor, Big Brother, and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

“Something is going on that I don’t know. So either someone hates my guts or someone is afraid that I will take their limelight,” Nasser theorises.

Nasser spills secrets about The Traitors Australia cast

Nasser also says that producers contacted other MAFS contestants, but we won’t be seeing anyone from MAFS 2025 — such as Jamie Marinos, Carina Mirabile, or Jeff Gobbels — because they’re still under contract with Channel Nine.

“I’ve heard [past MAFS contestants] have been approached, not last year, the year before,” Nasser claims. “You know with… Dom [Calarco] and Ella [Ding], that sort of season. I think they’ve been approached because they’re all out of contract.”

He also says that Real Housewives of Sydney’s Krissy Marsh is supposedly one of the cast members for The Traitors Australia 2026, and thinks there are also some former Love Island Australia contestants in the mix.

The show will air on Channel 10 sometime in 2026, and we have other juicy details about The Traitors Australia here, including the Australian Survivor player rumoured to be in the cast.
