Who does Nicole from FBoy Island Australia end up with?

As the FBoy Island Australia finale is on the horizon, we’re all left wondering who the girls will pick. In particular, Nicole Mitrov’s decision is one that’s on our minds: will she leave with an FBoy or a nice guy? Will she choose someone purely to split the cash? Or heck, will she pull a Molly O’Halloran 2.0 and bring back an eliminated guy?

Reflecting on her FBoy Island Australia journey, Nicole tells Chattr that her journey is “emotional” – and it’s got us wondering what’s really about to go down in the finale.

“My journey is quite emotional,” she shares. “I get a little bit teary but I really wear my heart on my sleeve.”

Nicole explains that a lot of her feelings on the show were “amplified” because of the nature of filming.

“Everything is amplified on the show – you don’t have that outside connection, it becomes your world, you’re in a vortex and feelings get real. Feelings get very real for me, and I struggle a lot with the whole FBoy, nice guy… who’s playing me, who’s not joking.”

Already on the show, Nicole has been shown struggling to distinguish between who is an FBoy and who’s a Nice Guy. This culminated in a shock decision, where Nicole made the decision to send Sean Henry home in fears that he was an FBoy, despite their obvious connection. Later, Sean revealed that despite his looks, he was actually a Nice Guy, leaving Nicole in tears.

“Going through the season, there are definitely guys that pull at my heartstrings that are really trying to get to know me, for me, and it’s like, is it real? Is it not are they playing a good game? It’s so hard,” Nicole said of her journey.

“My journey is a rollercoaster,” Nicole continues. “I really go in there with an open heart, and I really try to give the guys an opportunity. I’m wanting to leave with a boyfriend, with love, and so, you know, I get swept up quite a bit, and there are real feelings.”

Nicole also hints that in the end, her choice may have been for love. “I truly did put myself out there, and I put my part on the line, essentially, in the hopes to not get hurt,” she said.

But will she get hurt? We’ll need to find out in the finale.

Who does Nicole from FBoy Island Australia end up with?

While we still have a few more days to go until the FBoy Island Australia finale, there are some concerns that Nicole’s final pick might not be as simple as opting for Jack, her frontrunner the whole season.

While Jack and Nathan are in Nicole’s final two (and Nathan is only there as a guaranteed money option), fans have been left wondering as to whether Nicole might pull a complete 180 and instead choose Sean, who she surprisingly eliminated in Episode 8.

After Sean’s elimination and the revelation that he was, indeed, a ‘Nice Guy’, Nicole was left wondering about her relationship with Jack, especially given he had been so adamant about Sean’s status.

To add extra fuel to the fire, host Abbie Chatfield has revealed that the season finale is absolute “chaos”, with events that not even producers could have predicted.

After the finale airs, you can find out which Fboy Island couples are still together here.

Aussie Shore’s Lexie Dyer is the daughter of an ex-Big Brother star

Aussie Shore star Lexie Dyer is no stranger to reality TV. Her dad, Paul Dyer, was on Big Brother in 2004, and he couldn’t be prouder that his youngest daughter is following in her footsteps.

“As a family, we are so stoked that Lexie was picked up as one of the five Aussie girls to represent in the new series Aussie Shore!” Paul told Chattr in an exclusive interview.

Paul lasted 85 days as a housemate and came in third place behind Bree Amer and Trevor Butler on Big Brother Season 4.

What advice did Paul give Lexie about going on reality TV?

As one of the first Australian reality stars, Paul has extensive experience in reality TV.

Ahead of Lexie’s debut on Aussie Shore, which premieres on October 3, Paul told Chattr that he gave his daughter some advice about how to stand out on the show.

“I’ve taught her so much about living in the moment, enjoying what life has to offer, and making sure you’re heard because nobody remembers the quiet ones,” he said.

“Oh, and I told her to stir the pot and go get ’em!” he added.

Paul said he advised Lexie to give it her all when she joined Aussie Shore.

“My advice was to show every single emotion you have in your body — love, hate, loud, caring. Don’t hold back when presented with an opportunity, and don’t take shit from anybody,” he said, adding that “respect is key”.

Who is Lexie Dyer?

Aside from being Paul’s youngest daughter, Victorian-based Lexie is described as a “pocket rocket” in her Aussie Shore bio.

She’s touted as someone who’s always down for some fun, be it a vodka or a nudie run, and is pansexual.

Her bio says that she lives by the motto “f**k it” and is often spontaneous, preferring to deal with consequences than avoiding them.

Perhaps Paul’s other daughter can join the cast of Big Brother 2025?

FBoy Island Australia’s Ally reflects on her “growth” this season

This season of FBoy Island Australia has been a ride, to say the least. The season sees three womenKrystal Thomas, Nicole Mitrov and Ally Woodfall – try and find love with a self-proclaimed Nice Guy, weeding out the FBoys in the process.

But for Ally, the journey has been anything but smooth sailing.

Since becoming smitten and having eyes for what seems like one man and one man only – Joe Blanch – the leading lady has been dealt her fair share of obstacles, with two men deciding to walk out on her for what seems like tunnel vision.

Now, with the finale on the horizon (with host Abbie Chatfield telling us that it’s “chaos”), fans are wondering how Ally’s story will end and if Joe really is an FBoy like so many people believe.

While we still need to wait a little longer to find out, Chattr sat down with Ally ahead of the Season 2 launch – and we think there might be some hints about how everything ends with her.

“I think my journey throughout the season is definitely showing a lot of growth,” Ally tells Chattr in an interview, reflecting on her journey this season. “I definitely came in with different expectations.”

“It was a lot more emotionally challenging than I really expected,” she continues. “You know, you sort of go on to FBoy Island, and do you think it’s going to be just a bit of a laugh, a lot of fun, and an experience.”

“I think for me, it all kind of hit me like a ton of bricks,” she says.

Does Ally end up with Joe from FBoy Island Australia?

There have been rumours swirling for weeks that Ally’s journey is tumultuous, to say the least. “There’s lots of drama with her, and it doesn’t end well,” her ex Vernon Lyon told So Dramatic!.

Fans have now been left wondering if her number one Joe is actually an FBoy who walks away with the prize money.

While we’ll need to wait until the finale to see how it pans out, Ally does say that the journey allowed her to grow and be vulnerable.

“It’s definitely a lot of growth and vulnerability,” she says. “When I started the whole process, I was six months out of a really bad relationship. So for me to come back into something like this, I already have my walls up and was really scared to get hurt.”

“It’s definitely a journey.”

Abbie Chatfield on whether there will be an FGirl Island Australia

FBoy Island Australia is the gift that just keeps on giving in the reality television world. Following 12 self-proclaimed Nice Guys and 12 FBoys, the series sees three women try and weed out the goodies from the baddies, both to find love and possibly walk away with some cash.

But while the FBoy Island format is tried and tested, many fans have been wondering whether the show would flip the script and instead make an FGirl Island, where the women are the ones lying and scheming to make bank. The US has recently tested the FGirl format, rebranding the show to Lovers and Liars.

Host of FBoy Island Australia Abbie Chatfield has weighed in on whether an FGirl Island format would work in Australia in an interview with Chattr.

Will there be an FGirl Island Australia?

“I’d love it, but I’d want to see the American version first because I’m not sure how it would work,” Abbie tells Chattr. “I love it in theory, but I really, really want to see the full season and see what the vibes are.”

Abbie Chatfield hosting FBoy Island Australia Season 2
Abbie Chatfield on FBoy Island Australia Season 2. Image: BINGE.

A large part of why the FBoy Island format works so well is because of its self-aware format, where jokes and jabs are embedded in the DNA. Abbie says this humour is a key element of the format, and wonders whether it would be lost if the jabs are towards women, not men.

“Obviously, it turns the whole thing on its head,” she says. “A huge reason why the show works is because it’s tackling the patriarchy. You’re punching up when you’re a female host, and there’s men there.”

“The thing is, the show is silly! People are like to me, ‘She’s bullying’. And I’m like, it’s a fucking joke!”

As for whether Abbie would host, she gives an unequivocal “Oh yeah!”.

“But I want to watch it first,” she continues. “I want to see how they did that.”

“It seems to still be supporting the women.”

How would the FGirl Island format work?

Well, the US edition of it, Lovers and Liars, is a pretty good indicator of what we might expect from an FGirl Island series.

In the gender-flipped version, we would see 12 Nice Girls and 12 FGirls duke it out for the hearts of three men (and their prize money).

However, despite what seems like absolute gold, the US edition of the show was cancelled with only one episode left to air, which doesn’t bode quite as well for an Australian edition!

FBoy Island Australia Season 2 streams on Mondays on BINGE. You can catch the finale from Monday, 30th of October.

Callum Hole’s new girlfriend has seemingly confirmed their relationship

Fitness influencer Shawnee Schein has broken hearts nationwide after seemingly confirming that she’s in a relationship with Love Island Australia’s Callum Hole.

The new couple first got tongues wagging after Callum posted a photo cuddled up with Shawnee in an Instagram carousel on September 10.

“Archive Ting,” he captioned the post, which mostly consisted of selfies, as well as a photo with Denise Drysdale and another with Shawnee.

His Love Island buddy Mitch Eliot hinted at a romance between Callum and Shawnee with his comment.

“Cute photo of you and your sister, bro 🔥 ,” he joked.

Callum’s post. Image: Instagram.

Meanwhile, Shawnee held an anonymous Instagram Q&A session with her followers, and one person asked her about her relationship status.

“Are you single, and what qualities do you look for in a partner?” they wrote.

“Not single ❤️,” Shawnee replied and used a photo of her and Callum in the background.

Callum Hole's girlfriend Shawnees shared this Instagram story.

On top of that, Callum’s I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here co-star Skye Wheatley may have also confirmed the new relationship.

During her own Q&A session, a follower asked her: “Anymore catch-ups with Callum on the horizon? Has he got a gf now?”

Skye’s reply didn’t specifically address whether she was answering the first or second question.

“Yep going to Darwin with him tomorrow. For a meet and greet yay,” she wrote.

Skye is asked about Callum Hole's girlfriend

Why would Callum Hole hide his relationship status?

There’s a very obvious reason as to why Callum would play coy about his relationship status.

He’s part of the Aussie Shore cast, which is set to premiere on October 3. According to the show’s press release, the entire cast is single.

So, with just a week to go until the premiere, Callum might need to hold off a little longer before he can outrightly confirm his new relationship.

Abbie Chatfield says she thought there was a “conspiracy” in her season of The Bachelor

As soon as we saw Abbie Chatfield on The Bachelor Australia, we knew she was an icon. Going viral for her hilarious yet underrated line (“I’m a Gemini”), the Bachie contestant has now made waves in the Australian reality television world, even going as far as to host our new favourite dating show, FBoy Island Australia.

But while we’ve steadily begun to realise that what we see on the screen isn’t exactly what goes on behind the scenes in the reality television world, there’s also far more behind how contestants act on reality television shows than we once thought.

Reflecting on her time on the seventh season of The Bachelor Australia, Chatfield admits that she was a little paranoid when it came to actually being on the show.

Abbie Chatfield during The Bachelor. Image: Network 10.

“On my season, I thought there was a big conspiracy afoot about Matt [Agnew] not liking me,” Chatfield tells Chattr in an interview.

“I remember because I was sobbing to my producer,” she shares. “I was like, he doesn’t like me. I should go home now.”

Chatfield tells us that she initially thought producers were trying to “trick” her into doing or saying things during her time on the show.

“[My producer] was like no, come out. But I thought she was trying to trick me into an interview where she was going to get me crying on camera,” she continues. “But actually, she was just asking me to come out so I could get asked on a date.”

Reflecting on her time on the show and her experience since, Chatfield says she’s gained a better understanding of how reality television works.

“The more you do reality TV, the more you understand that people working on these shows aren’t evil. They’re trying to get a storyline,” she says. “There are so many times that I look back and I’m like, oh my god. I was so convinced there was a conspiracy afoot or a coup, but they were just trying to get us to film a scene!”

Season Two of FBoy Island Australia features not one but two alumni from The Bachelor: leading lady Krystal Thomas and her finalist Paddy Colliar.

Abbie says that while the presence of former reality television stars might raise some eyebrows, in reality, they’re much better to watch than someone unfamiliar with the reality telly game.

“I feel like if you’ve been on reality TV, you kind of get the idea if you do it again, and you’re a bit easier to work with,” Chatfield says, thinking of her own experiences. “You’re not as paranoid.”

“Krystal really enjoyed it because it was less pressure,” she explains. “I think it makes it easier for them, so therefore, it makes it come to life on camera more because they’re not tired and stressed.”

Abbie’s number one regret of her time on The Bachelor?

“I wish I could’ve just enjoyed it!”

FBoy Island Australia Season 2 streams on Mondays on BINGE. You can catch the finale from Monday, 30th of October.

Aussie fans react to Maddy and Charlotte’s ‘secret’ video on The Block

Wednesday night’s episode of The Block 2024 is gearing up to be a spicy one, with contestants discovering some news via a leaked video about Maddy and Charlotte that seemingly has them up in arms. But do fans of the series care as much as Maddy and Charlotte’s fellow contestants? We took a peek at some early reactions, and it seems the answer to that is a fat N-O.

Here’s a breakdown of the situation at hand so you can draw your own conclusions on the drama.

Maddy and Charlotte’s truth is revealed via a video on The Block

Maddy and Charlotte, The Block contestants. Image: Nine

In early September, sisters Maddy and Charlotte stepped in to replace contestants Jesse and Paige. The ladies—who make up the new pink team—are renovating house one on The Block 2024.

Maddy (24) and Charlotte (22) make up the youngest team to ever compete on the show, but as experienced house flippers, they’re hardly a duo to overlook.

Now, fans watching at home have been aware of the above background information since the sisters joined the show, but the other contestants of The Block 2024 were not.

In the episode airing on Wednesday, 25 September, the other teams are made aware of Maddy and Charlotte’s work in house flipping, and the news does not go down all that well.

In a clip from the episode, it’s revealed that other contestants have found a video highlighting Maddy and Charlotte’s house-flipping experience. In response to this, Haydn is heard saying, “They’ve lied about who they are, what background they’ve got, and the experience they’ve got.”

Mimi seemingly feels similarly, sharing comments like, “Don’t lie to my face” and “It’s sneaky”.

While we’ll have to wait until the full episode drops to see exactly how the drama plays out, it does seem as though a heated exchange may be on the cards.

Maddy and Charlotte’s house-flipping background

As we’ve mentioned, the house-flipping history of this duo has been public knowledge for Aussie fans of The Block from the start, but if you’re after some additional insight, continue reading.

Per a write-up on the pair from Nine, Maddy and Charlotte work day jobs in accounting but bought their first home — a “shack in Newcastle” — at 21 and 19.

This would become their first experience of house flipping. The pair renovated and sold the Newcastle property and continued to pursue opportunities from that point.

Nine shares that “they now have three builds on the go with more planned while still juggling their odd jobs and working in the family business.”

Maddy and Charlotte’s house-flipping business, according to Realestate.com.au, is called Wise Property.

The Block fan reactions: Do people care?

Maddy and Charlotte, The Block contestants. Image: Nine

The short answer here is: not really.

Fans have taken to Facebook and Reddit to react to the heat in the next episode of The Block, sharing comments like, “So what?”

One Facebook user wrote, “…so what (sic) other contestants have trades, and previous contestants have flipped houses prior to being on [the] show.”

Another wrote, “…they all need to grow up and stay in their own lane.”

Over on Reddit, one user RIPFergusonBishop wrote, “I’ve said it before: had the other contestants shown an ounce of kindness towards the girls, I’m almost positive that they would have told the others about their flipping experience.”

Sugar_Fuelled_God even shared that they think the term “house-flipper” is a tad exaggerated in this case.

“…Essentially the girls experience is being overstated, and the house-flipper title is being applied on only a single sale, which was clearly to a developer who then done their own renovations, subdivision and sale of the same property.”

What do you think? Is their background worth the upset?

The Block airs on Sundays at 7pm and Mon – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Viviana reveals which MKR Gatecrasher team was the most competitive

Three new Gatecrasher teams are entering the My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2024 competition, and MKR contestant Viviana has revealed which of the latest additions she was intimidated by.

Viviana, who’s paired up with long-time pal Simone, came second on the MKR leaderboard in round one, finishing 10 points behind brothers Rob and Liam.

At the end of round one, the two teams with the lowest scores were eliminated, and Rob and Liam won immunity, meaning they wouldn’t be taking part in round two of the Instant Restaurants.

So, Simone and Viviana are headed back into the Instant Restaurants round two to compete against Mike and Pete and Hannah and Lawrence. They’ll be joined by the three new MKR 2024 Gatecrasher teams; Caz and Fergus, Robert and Andrea and Janey and Maddie.

The MKR Gatecrashers Caz and Fergus, Janey and Maddy and Robert and Andrea (L-R).

Upon meeting the new teams, Viviana told Chattr in an exclusive interview that there was one duo that she was instantly wary about.

“When we first saw Fergus and Caz, I wasn’t really scared of them for some reason because they seemed very nice, not too much competitiveness,” she said.

“I saw Rob and Andrea as genuine,” she added. “But, Janey and Maddie seemed a little more competitive as if they were like, ‘I’m here to knock you off’. That’s the vibe that I got.”

When will the MKR Gatecrasher teams have their Instant Restaurants?

The first Instant Restaurant of round two will be hosted by one of the Gatecrasher teams.

Caz and Fergus will invite their competitors—as well as MKR judges Manu Fieldel and Colin Fassnidge—to their house in NSW to serve them a three-course meal during the episode that airs on September 25.

Simone and Viviana will cook during the episode that airs on September 30, and Gatecrashers Janey and Maddie are up after them the following night.

The dates are yet to be confirmed for Robert and Andrea, Mike and Pete and Hannah and Lawrence’s round two Instant Restaurants.

However, if the calibre of this season is anything to go by, they’re likely to be seriously impressive!

Watch MKR on Mondays and Tuesdays at 7.30 pm on 7 and 7plus.

Everything we know about new Big Brother 2025 host Mel Tracina

As you’re all likely aware by now, Big Brother Australia is returning in 2025. And while this iteration of the classic reality series promises to take us back to the original in terms of structure, there is one thing that is decidedly new: the show’s host, Mel Tracina.

OG host Gretel Killeen, along with hosts of the more recent reboots, Kyle and Jackie O and Sonia Kruger were noticeably absent from news of the show’s return.

Instead, it was announced that the Nova announcer, cultural correspondent for The Cheap Seats and self-proclaimed “reality TV junkie” would be taking on the role of Big Brother host for 2025.

So, who is Mel Tracina and what can we expect from her time heading up the Big Brother house? Let’s take a little look!

Mel Tracina: What do we know so far?

New Big Brother host, Mel Tracina. Credit: Instragram

As we touched on above, Mel has a background in radio and TV presenting, having worked with both Nova Melbourne and Ten’s The Cheap Seats. She also often appears as a guest panellist on Have You Been Paying Attention?

Throughout her career, Mel has interviewed some huge Hollywood names (like Chris Hemsworth), having appeared on a number of red carpets, so it’s fairly safe to say she’ll be feeling at home grilling Big Brother contestants on their time in the house.

Speaking with Ten about the show’s return to the network and her new (massive) gig as host, Mel shared that she’s long been a fan of Big Brother, and that she’s excited to bring it back to its old-school roots.

“I was one of the millions of Aussies captivated by Big Brother when it launched on Channel 10 in the early noughties,” she said.

“The show has such a loyal and passionate fan base, and I am excited to help bring back the show’s original spirit (minus the flip phones and bum dancing).”

Personally, I think the flip phones and bum dancing are iconic, but hey, each to one’s own.

Were Gretel Killeen and Sonia Kruger approached for Big Brother 2025?

While it’s certainly exciting to see modern Big Brother Australia moving in a (kinda) new direction, the choice to bring on a new host has obviously left folks asking what happened with the previous leading personalities — especially Gretel and Sonia.

Yahoo Lifestyle recently reported an insider shared with them that neither of the former hosts was considered for the 2025 gig.

“Network 10 wanted someone fresh that felt similar to the network hiring Gretel back in 2001,” the insider told the outlet. “Gretel wasn’t unknown by any means, but it was Big Brother Australia that made her a household name.”

Additionally, a source spoke with New Idea, sharing that opting not to go with Gretel may not be the snub some are interpreting it to be.

“She [Gretel] probably feels that Big Brother should well and truly remain in her past,” the source said.

When it comes to Sonia, Yahoo reports that their source shared that fans were looking for a change from the former host. Equally, they stated that Sonia “wasn’t really that keen on continuing” with the series either.

Sonia is currently hosting The Voice 2024 and has been rumoured for The Golden Bachelor.

Long story, short: reports seem to point to both former hosts of Big Brother being happy to pass on the baton.

“It was chaos”: Abbie Chatfield on what to expect from the FBoy Island 2024 finale

Ah, FBoy Island Australia. The absurd yet self-aware dating show that sees 12 self-proclaimed Nice Guys and 12 FBoys duke it out for the affections of three single women. In the 2024 season of FBoy Island Australia, we’ve watched as Ally Woodfall, Nicole Mitrov and The Bachelor alumni Krystal Thomas try and find love – and on Monday’s finale, we’ll find out if they have.

Yep, the finale for the 2024 season is almost here; where we’ll watch the women make their final decisions and, in the process, discover whether they’ve chosen a nice guy who will split the $50,000 cash prize with them or — even more grim — if they’ve picked an FBoy who will walk away with the whole prize money.

Host Abbie Chatfield has spoken about Monday’s finale and, well, things are looking chaotic, to say the least.

“The finale is mental,” Abbie tells Chattr.

She also hints that there are many surprises in store that even the producers weren’t in the know about.

“We were filming for two or three hours because things kept happening, and the contestants kept doing things that weren’t known by producers. I think they were trying to be smart and be, like, sneaky,” she says.

The 2024 season of FBoy Island Australia has already caused quite a stir. One of the biggest talking points has been Ally’s relationship with Joe – a certified Andrew Tate lover and FKA ‘the hot one’ – with concerns that she’s had a bit too much tunnel vision for the bloke.

FBoy Island contestant Joe. Image: Binge.

Abbie says that while the finale drama wasn’t predicted, it’s made the episode even better.

“It made for better TV because we didn’t know what was happening,” she continues. “It was chaos. It was absolute chaos.”

“I was exhausted, and I was saying, ‘Guys, I love the drama, but like, how many more things could there possibly be?!'” she said. “It was actually wild.”

Colour us interested!

When is the FBoy Island Australia 2024 finale?

The FBoy Island Australia finale for 2024 will kick off on our screens on Monday, September 30. The episode will drop at 12pm over on BINGE – so maybe it’s time to chuck a strategic sickie from work.

Host Abbie Chatfield. Image: Binge.

Who is in the FBoy Island Australia finale?

After weeks of fun summer lovin’, the three women have finally whittled the 24 men down to 6 contenders.

Ex-contestant on The Bachelor, Krystal, has her final picks locked in, including Doug and Paddy, who was also seen in The Bachelor universe. Krystal follows both men on her Instagram still, so while we can’t predict which way the finale will go with her, it all sounds like they’re still mates.

Meanwhile, Nicole has chosen Nathan and Jack as her top two. While her connection with Jack has been there since day-dot, the decision to keep Nathan – the first openly gay FBoy – is an interesting one, considering there’s clearly not a romantic connection between the two of them. But who knows? It could be an easy way to split the $50k.

Ally has – perhaps unsurprisingly – picked Joe and Chad for her final two. Since episode one, Ally has had her sights set on Joe despite what fans consider several red flags. Now, there’s speculation that in the finale, she’ll choose Joe, and he’ll run off with the cash in true FBoy behaviour.

While the speculations aren’t confirmed, her ex Vernon Lyon (who was on season one of the show), told So Dramatic! that her season “doesn’t end well”. Uh oh.

The leading ladies Krystal, Ally and Nicole. Image: Binge.

What happens during the finale?

During the finale, the women will carefully consider which guy to choose and discover whether their top pick is a Nice Guy or an FBoy and, consequentially, whether they’ll walk away with any cash.

While we don’t know exactly what will go down in the 2024 finale, the 2023 finale spills some clues for what we might expect.

During the 2023 finale, the eliminated boys came back to the villa to dish the dirt on all the remaining guys in an effort to help the women’s decision-making. After the roasting, the women set off on some 24-hour dates with their remaining dudes.

Then, it’ll be time for the final choices, with each of the women choosing their final picks, discovering their status for the first time, and finding out whether they’ll walk away splitting the $50,000 prize money or, alternatively, walk away with absolutely nada with an FBoy taking the whole prize.

After the finale airs, you can find out which Fboy Island couples are still together here.

FBoy Island Australia streams Mondays on BINGE.

The Great Outdoors is returning to Aussie screens – here’s what you need to know

Some 30 years after the original travel series hit Aussie televisions, The Great Outdoors is set to return to our screens, bringing fans a “reimagined version” of the ’90s show.

If you’re keen to get your eyes across the fresh take on The Great Outdoors, here’s everything you need to know about the series’ return to telly.

Kimberly Busteed. Image: Seven.

What is The Great Outdoors?

If you remember the ’90s well, chances are The Great Outdoors brings up a hint of nostalgia for you. The popular travel series saw a team of presenters travel the globe, and around Australia itself, highlighting activities, places to stay and the top spots to see — with a focus on adventure and outdoorsy destinations.

The Seven Network shared the below synopsis for the new take on the series:

“The Great Outdoors team will scour the globe to bring viewers extraordinary and unmissable adventures, epic scenery and vibrant food and culture.

“Travel with the team as they visit all four corners of the compass in Australia, from diving off the Western Australian coast to trekking the deep forests of Tasmania; hop in the passenger seat on a classic convertible road trip along the iconic Route 66 in the US; and scale the snow-covered heights of northern Europe.”

The original Great Outdoors kicked off in early 1993 and it was a pretty well-loved series for the majority of that time, even receiving a few Logie Award nominations over the years. But it was eventually cancelled in 2009.

There was a brief attempt at reviving the show in 2012, but that didn’t progress beyond the one season.

On his work with the show, James shared, “I grew up watching The Great Outdoors and still can’t quite believe I’ve now got one of the best gigs on TV as I share these incredibly unique travel destinations with our viewers.

James Tobin on The Great Outdoors. Image: Seven.

“Filming in the US was a real highlight of this series for me and I can’t wait to show viewers what we got up to over there.”

Phil also gave a statement on his new gig, sharing that, “I’ve travelled the world with my music, but what I realised through filming The Great Outdoors is some of the hidden gems we have right here in Australia.

“Having the opportunity to delve into Western Australia in a way I’d never seen it before was an incredible opportunity and I couldn’t be more delighted to be part of the show.

MKR Gatecrasher Fergus has connections to Justin Timberlake and Ed Sheeran

My Kitchen Rules (MKR) Gatecrasher Fergus James is no stranger to the limelight — the successful singer was actually discovered by Justin Timberlake.

And that’s not the only famous connection Fergus has – he’s also supported some huge artists on their international tours.

Now, Fergus is tackling the MKR 2024 competition alongside his mum Caz. The mother-son duo joined the show as one of the three pairs of Gatecrashers who are competing in round two. We can’t wait to see if they top the MKR leaderboard.

Fergus and Caz. Image: Seven.

MKR’s Fergus was discovered by Justin Timberlake

In 2016, Justin showed up unannounced at Newtown’s High School of The Performing Arts to host a “secret masterclass”.

JT shared a video of the visit on his Facebook page at the time, featuring none other than MKR’s Fergus (albeit a lot younger).

When Fergus took the stage and performed an original song, Justin was clearly blown away.

“What? I’d put that on the radio now,” he told the high school student.

The clip went viral, and Fergus appeared on the Today show to talk about his experience with Justin.

“It was my own original song,” Fergus told Lisa Wilkinson during the interview.

“Justin really got into how much he liked the lyrics and how vulnerability is such an important thing in music. It was a great opportunity.”

Fergus supported Ed Sheeran on his world tour

Two years after meeting Justin, Fergus was on stage supporting Ed Sheeran on his ÷ stadium tour in 2018.

In 2019, Fergus told The AU Review that he was relieved he had little experience performing for large crowds when he took on the gig.

“To be honest with you, I think had I had any prior experience playing live shows, as a proper musician, I think I would have struggled a little bit more than I did,” he said.

“I am not saying it was easy. It was one of the most horrifyingly scary things to get up in front of thousands of people with a guitar at the age of eighteen.”

Fergus has performed with Meg Mac and at Splendour In The Grass

In 2019, Fergus opened the biggest stage at Splendour In The Grass after winning triple j’s Unearthed competition.

That same year, he was the support act for Meg Mac at the Melbourne Zoo’s Zoo Twilights events, where he played his own songs, What Are We Waiting For, Mistakes and Old Stars.

“I’ve been listening to Meg Mac since a young kid,” Fergus told The AU Review of the opportunity. “And, the fact I got to support her, to do 13 shows was unreal, and only to be topped by getting to do Splendour, another life goal, opening that massive stage.”

Listen to Fergus James’ music here and watch his Slow Separation video clip below.

We’ve got our fingers crossed that Fergus will treat the rest of the MKR cast to a little rendition during one of the round two MKR Instant Restaurants.

Watch MKR on Mondays and Tuesdays at 7.30 pm on 7 and 7plus.

Intruder alert! Meet the My Kitchen Rules 2024 Gatecrashers

Round One of My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2024 has officially been completed, and now it’s time for some of the OG contestants to take on the Gatecrashers. So, who are the MKR 2024 Gatecrashers?

Well, this year’s batch of intruders consists of three teams; a mother and daughter, mother and son and a married couple.

The new trio will tour around Australia for round two of the Instant Restaurants and compete against Simone and Viviana, Mike and Pete and Lawrence and Hannah.

Because Rob and Liam topped the 2024 MKR Leaderboard with a score of 82/110, they were made immune from round two of Instant Restaurants and sent straight through to the next round. The conclusion of round one saw the elimination of MKR contestants Cassie and Ash and Danny and Sonia, who had the lowest scores.

Will any of the Gatecrashers join Rob and Liam at Kitchen HQ? We can’t wait to find out. But until then, here’s everything you need to know about the brand-spanking new MKR 2024 Gatecrashers.

MKR 2024 Gatecrashers Janey and Maddie

Janey and Maddie are a glamorous mother-daughter duo who prefer the fancier things in life — like champagne and oysters.

Maddie recently left her marketing job to start a small recruitment business with her mum, who has over 30 years of experience in the industry.

The pair is fiercely protective of each other and won’t be afraid to speak their minds to the other contestants.

Janey has been a big fan of MKR over the years, which is why the pair applied to take part in the show.

“I used to watch MKR with my mum,” Janey explained in a press release. “I love food and love being competitive, so it’s a perfect match for me.

“To be with my daughter Maddie on this journey is an experience of a lifetime. Cooking on MKR is a dream, but winning the crown would be the icing on the cake.”

You can find out more about Janey and Maddie here.

My Kitchen Rules Gatecrashers Caz and Fergus

Mother and son team Caz and Fergus share a very close relationship. Fergus is a singer who was discovered by Justin Timberlake and singer/songwriter who has opened for Ed Sheeran and played at Splendour in the Grass.

Meanwhile, Caz works in education and dreams of opening a food venue in in Tasmania that’s focused on local producers and featuring music played by Fergus.

In an MKR press release, Caz said that cooking is her way of showing people how much she cares for them.

“Cooking is a way to bring everyone together and share something delicious over a bottle of wine,” Fergus added.

Husband and wife Robert and Andrea are hoping to be the first German couple to win MKR.

Robert owns a jewellery business and manages the Oktoberfest Bratwurst stall at a local market. Andrea is a clinical nurse in aged care who loves helping people in and out of the kitchen.

In an MKR press release, Robert and Andrea say preparation is their top tip for stress-free entertaining.

The couple lists traditional German food as their go-to dish.

“Roast pork, potato dumplings and savoy cabbage or crispy duck with cherry and shallot vinegar sauce, potato mash and currywurst,” Robert said.

“Roast pork with dumplings and cabbage,” Andrea added.

Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi to be star crossed lovers in new Wuthering Heights film

A new film adaptation of Emily Brontë‘s classic novel Wuthering Heights is in the works, with Australian Hollywood heavyweights Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi set to star in the leading roles.

This fresh take on the story promises to bring the passionate tale of Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw to a new generation of viewers, directed by Emerald Fennell of Saltburn and Promising Young Woman fame. It will be produced by LuckyChap and financed by MRC.

Here’s everything we know so far about this highly anticipated film adaptation.

Margot Robbie in Bond 26. Image: YouTube.

Wuthering Heights Synopsis

Based on the novel first published in 1847, Wuthering Heights tells the story of a poor boy of unknown origins who is rescued from poverty and taken in by the Earnshaw family.

There, he develops an intense relationship with his young foster sister, Cathy. Set against the backdrop of the wild Yorkshire moors, this tale of love, revenge, and the destructive nature of passion has captivated readers for generations.

At this stage, it’s uncertain whether Fennell’s version of the plot will differ, as well as the tone the film will use.

When will Wuthering Heights be released and how can you watch it?

There is no official release date for the new adaptation of Wuthering Heights yet. The project is still in pre-production, with shooting slated to begin in 2025 in the UK.

The film will likely hit theatres first, followed by streaming services and online rental platforms.

Who has been cast?

While Margot and Jacob have been announced as leads, playing Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, respectively, other main roles are yet to be cast.

Based on previous adaptations, we doubt it will be long before we hear more about who will be playing key roles like Edgar Linton, Isabella Linton, Hindley Earnshaw, and Nelly Dean.

Who is Emerald Fennell?

Emerald is an English actress, filmmaker, and writer.

As an actor, she’s known for her roles in period dramas such as Call the Midwife, where she starred as Nurse Patsy Mount from 2013 to 2017, and as Camilla Parker Bowles in Netflix’s The Crown.

In addition to her acting career, Fennell has made her mark as a writer-director with her most recent film, Saltburn. She also received an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for her directorial debut, Promising Young Woman.

Saltburn, starring Jacob Elordi

She has received multiple accolades including two BAFTA Awards and nominations for three Primetime Emmy Awards and three Golden Globes. Fennell’s work often explores themes related to gender and social class, showcasing her talent for storytelling across different mediums.

We can’t wait to see what Emerald has in store for her take on Wuthering Heights – or to see the (albeit questionable) chemistry between Margot and Jacob!

“Really smitten”: MAFS’ Domenica Calarco hard launches her new boyfriend

Married at First Sight (MAFS) star Domenica Calarco has hard-launched what appears to be her new boyfriend, Jarod Bogunovich.

Domenica shared a photo with Jarod on her Instagram grid over the weekend, captioning the carousel “Bit of life #updates”.

In the shot, Jarod has his arm around Domenica and she looks extremely happy while snuggled into him.

We’re glad to see a smile on her face after a rollercoaster year that included cancelling her podcast and ending her friendship with Ella Ding.

Also in Domenica’s Instagram carousel is an image of a skateboard and two pairs of feet, one of which is wearing checkered Vans.

In an Instagram video Domenica shared on September 10th, Dom revealed that she received a pair of checkered Vans from a “fuck buddy”.

Less than a week later, Jarod shared a picture to Instagram Stories of him and Domenica sharing beers on a beach in the coastal town of Valla.

This was followed by a picture of him and Domenica posing together outside Bondi Icebergs which Domenica then shared to her own Instagram account.

On top of that, Domenica also hard launched her relationship with Jarod over on TikTok on September 23.

She shared an adorable video of her and Jarod doing a TikTok trend (which you can watch here) and captioned it, “We just had had to #couplegoals.” CUTE!

Who is Jarod “Boggo” Bogunovich?

Jarod is Bondi-based, a skateboarder known to his mates as “Boggo” and has a photo with comedian Chris Lilley on his Instagram account.

“I know Boggo from the skating scene and he’s a legend. Great guy. He seems really smitten,” a source told Chattr exclusively.

He also seems to like The Notebook, a movie that taught us a lot about love. In his Instagram bio, he references a quote from the film. Therefore, we love him already.

Domenica Calarco’s past relationships

Domenica was married IRL to Luke Rodley before she went on MAFS in 2022. The couple split shortly before she went on the show, where she married Jack Millar.

Depsite making it to the end of the experiment as a couple, Jack and Domenica didn’t choose to continue their relationship in the real world.

Jack went on to date Love Island star Courtney Stubbs, with whom he now shares a baby.

After appearing on the reality TV dating series, Domenica dated another man named Jack, but they announced their split in April 2024.

“I’ve needed a bit of time off social to work through a break-up,” Domenica explained in a social media post at the time.

”I miss engaging with you all through my social media channels, but the last few weeks have been super intense,” Domenica continued in her statement.

“I’ve never felt anything more than when Taylor Swift said; lights camera, bitch smile! Having to get up every day, pick myself up, get to work and keep myself going has been the most challenging experience I’ve gone through in quite a while.”

Now Domenica has found a connection with Jarod, and we’re just relieved that his name isn’t Jack too, because things were getting confusing.

Congrats to the happy couple.

“So kind”: How Thorpey tried to help Stephanie & Havana on The Amazing Race

Havana Brown and Stephanie Wood were in the lead on leg six of The Amazing Race 2024 until they reached the Road Block challenge, which required them to find 28 teeth buried within a square of dirt.

While some of the remaining The Amazing Race cast sailed through the challenge, Stephanie struggled to find the last few teeth, which saw them drop into last place and be eliminated from the competition.

However, during an exclusive interview with Chattr, Havana and Stephanie shared just how well their particular teeth were buried.

Stephanie digging for the teeth. Image: Ten.

“I feel like the other teams that were finding it really easy, [the teeth] were just floating towards the top,” Havana said. “I saw Stephanie work so hard to dig out our entire hole.”

“She went through all the different parts of the dirt multiple times. So, it was just strange that we weren’t able to find that too. Very unlucky.”

Havana revealed that their competitors, Ian Thorpe and Christian Miranda, risked their own spot in the game by helping the women look for the missing teeth.

“You didn’t see this on the screen, but Thorpey and Christian, before they left, they spent a good 10-15 minutes helping Stephanie try to find the tooth, and they couldn’t find it.”

“It was so kind of them,” Stephanie added.

Havana Brown and Stephanie Wood reveal how close The Amazing Race cast were

Havana revealed that she and Stephanie built a very close relationship with both Christian and Ian and Matilda’s players Chloe Logarzo and Emily Gielnik.

“Chloe came out and played soccer with my daughter recently,” Stephanie said. “She hosted a little soccer clinic for my daughter and her friends.”

“The Tillies [Matildas] we regularly with and keep in contact with. We’re trying to organise a time for them to come to one of my shows so we can all catch up,” Havana added.

Havana and Stephanie with Chloe and Emily. Image: Ten.

The Australia DJ said that the cast has a WhatsApp group where they discuss the episodes together and added that she’s recently spent time with Ian.

“I think we’ve made some lifelong friends out of it, which is really great. It’s such a cool crew of cast,” she said.

“Everyone got along very well. There were so many comedians. I mean, Adam [Eckersley] and Brooke [McClymont] and Peter and Bridge [Helliar] are so funny, especially when you’re exhausted; they definitely kept the vibe high.”

With so many new friends left in the game, who are Havana and Stephanie hoping will win The Amazing Race Australia 2024?

“To be honest, I want everyone to win. But obviously, they can’t, so I’d like the Matilda’s girls to win — for girl power,” Havana said.

Considering Chloe and Emily have a few race wins under their belt already, an overall win could very well be on the cards for them!

The Amazing Race Australia 2024 airs on Mondays and Tuesdays at 7:30pm on Channel Ten and 10Play.
