MAFS groom Jack Dunkley looks shockingly different in old pre-glow-up pics

It’s fair to say that MAFS groom Jack Dunkley spends a considerable amount of time working on how he looks, after all abs like his don’t come easy!

However, Jack hasn’t always looked the way he does now.

Jack on MAFS. Nine.

Before he had his cheesegrater abs and blinding white smile, Jack had a… side fringe.

Old photos from his Star Now account, which is an online portfolio for acting jobs, show Jack looking significantly different. You can feast your eyes on them below.

Jack Dunkley. Star Now.

Peculiarly, Jack’s profile has his name listed as Jacob Dunkley, which has us questioning what his real name actually is.

Regardless, they’re certainly photos of the MAFS groom, you can see that he’s even recycling his headband from his early noughties days.

Are Tori and Jack still together?

**WARNING: This article contains potential spoilers for MAFS 2024.**

Tori Adams and Jack were paired together on Married at First Sight Australia 2024, and while their relationship got off to a bit of a rough start with Jack admitting that he wasn’t attracted to his wife, it appears the couple are still together.

The Daily Mail published a photo of the couple celebrating Christmas together with Tori’s family in Melbourne. In fact, before the annual MAFS participant’s Instagram ban, she shared pics of the couple looking loved-up!

Plus, a photo was shared on a MAFS fan Facebook group showing Tori holding a bunch of flowers on February 14th with a note reading, “My beautiful wife Tori, Happy Valentine’s Day.” Hmmmmm.

Interview: It’s true, Australian Idol is a “popularity contest” but so is the music industry

Australian Idol has long been called a “popularity contest” even before Channel 7 took over the ownership and revamped it in 2023.

And while some would think this idea can be perceived as negative, for co-host Scott Tweedie, it is actually a direct reflection of the industry.

Speaking on Mediaweek and Chattr’s The Entertainment Hotline Podcast, Scott said: “The music industry is a popularity contest. So, when we’re comparing what we are doing to the industry we’re trying to bring these amazing Australians into, we’re going, ‘This is how it works’.”

Natasha Rose, Australian Idol. Seven

Further to this, Scott said that like any musician, the contestants need to have not only an “amazing vocal talent to bring people into whatever you’re singing, but you need to be likeable”.

“You need to have some sort of element of where if they [fans] see you at a bar or in a pub or in a shopping centre, they want to get to know you or want to hang out with you. That’s the popularity contest.

“But the way they do that is by being 100% authentically themselves, being vulnerable and opening up to the Aussies and then unfortunately, some people will connect with some more than others. But when you start to pretend to be something else to try and get more popular, you’re going to fail that’s what I think.”

Australian Idol v The Voice

One thing we do know is that the cast of this year’s series has a helluva story to tell. Something the production team wanted to ensure was highlighted early on in the season.

“I think we’ve achieved that with the style of auditions and how the format changed,” he said. “People already know names now and they’re like ‘Trent, the camel farmer’.

Trent Australian idol

“They might not think he’s the best but they’re like, I want him to win because I like his story. So, I think the producers and the production as a whole, we’ve ticked a massive box of going, what was the DNA of Idol? Why is it different to The Voice and it’s all about the contestants. It’s about making them the stars.”

Australian Idol continues at 7.30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays on Channel 7 and 7plus.

Ellie and Ben seal their relationship with a kiss and call out MAFS editing for being one-sided

Newlyweds Ellie Dix and Ben Walters have called out MAFS producers in a leaked video diary for editing footage to make it appear as though they don’t like each other.

The video, which was posted by MAFSFunny was taken during the experiment and shows Ellie and Ben talking to a phone camera back at their Sky Suites Apartment.

“Maybe this is not good. Maybe I could be — you know — maybe Ellie really hates me,” Ben said before panning the camera to Ellie.

“I don’t hate him,” Ellie clarified.

“You know, the way these producers make it seem like this huge drama,” she continued.

“What I’m trying to say is you might only be getting a snippet of me saying ‘he made me feel angry,’ but that was last night and I was angry,” she added.

“They’re just getting my side. So, I didn’t write Ben off but all it takes is a little cut here and there,” she trailed off.

Ben agreed and went over and gave Ellie a kiss on camera.

MAFS. Nine.

Are Ben and Ellie still together?

**WARNING: This article contains potential spoilers for MAFS 2024.**

That’s a big old resounding NO.

Bombshell alert, because Ellie was spotted cuddled up with fellow groom Jono McCullough, who’s matched with Lauren Dunn, at her work party in December. A few of the guests plastered photos all over social media, which a MAFS gossip account then got a hold of.

Pics were later released of her and Jono making out in the ocean, so it’s safe to say that she and Ben definitely aren’t together.

According to Daily Mail Australia, the new relationship will be revealed in a future commitment ceremony.

“Lauren had no idea that Jono kept in contact with Ellie and found out during filming, and, boy, was she not happy,” a source told the publication.

“She was completely gobsmacked and felt humiliated by the end – but everyone else is happy for them.”

Meet the new brides and grooms tying the knot on MAFS Australia 2024

As if this wild year’s bunch aren’t already bringing enough chaos, the new MAFS brides and grooms – otherwise known as the intruders – have been announced.

Typically, the latecomers will marry each other, so it’s important to note that there’s an odd number of them. It’s good news for Michael, whose match left him before the wedding day.

Michael will be matched with one of the male intruders, and the other two men will be paired off with the latecomer brides.

After the new couples have exchanged their vowels, they will join the original couples for the rest of the experiment.

Interview: Survivor’s Garrick reveals whether Kirby or Feras’ “alpha” gameplay is superior

Garrick Wildman made no secret of his disdain for Kirby Bentley on Australian Survivor: Titans v Rebels, however, he has likened her gameplay to his mate Feras Basal.

During a post-elimination interview with Chattr, Garrick said that it was a battle of the alphas on the current Titans tribe.

“One of the biggest problems is that she [Kirby] is the alpha and Feras is also the alpha,” he said.

However, he clarified that there’s a slight difference in how they present themselves, and believes Feras’ style will get him further.

“Kirby is the kind of alpha where they have to prove to people that they have to be boss and they are calling the shots.”

“Feras does it in a different way. He does it in a more kind and fun and ‘I’m your best mate way’. That’s my alpha, whereas Kirby is more your I’m your boss alpha and that doesn’t work.”

Garrick picks apart Kirby’s gameplay

Garrick said he believes that Kirby is too dominating on Survivor and that she hasn’t presented herself as trustworthy.

In an earlier vote against the ‘cuddle club’ alliance, Kirby orchestrated a vote but didn’t vote with her hidden alliance, so that she could stay on good terms with both sides.

Survivor. Ten.

“You can’t be on two lawns and you can be a fence sitter and play one off the other. It just doesn’t work,” Garrick said.

“I don’t know if she’s got what it takes to get to the end. Because she’s too sneaky. She tries to play two different fields. And that never works.”

Feras on a team-up between Kirby and Feras

While the thought of his biggest nemesis Kirby, and strongest friendship Feras, teaming up together on Survivor made Garrick scoff, he thought it would be a good move strategy-wise.

“It would probably work fantastic and they’d go through to the end but there’s no way that’s going to happen,” he said. “I just cannot for the life of me see those two ever playing together”

Unsurprisingly, Garrick is barracking for Feras to take out the W.

“Feras may well go all the way, my money on anyone in this game has got to be Feras.”

Stream Survivor Australia 2024 Sundays – Tuesdays at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.

“I got a one word answer”: MAFS’ Natalie reached out to Collins and his response was awkies

Collins Christian and Natalie Parham may be out of the MAFS experiment, but their story isn’t over just yet! Natalie has revealed that she reached out to him while the show was airing and his response wasn’t exactly encouraging.

In an interview with Hit Network’s The Pulse with Seany B & Emma G, the former Married At First Sight bride said she sent a message of support to Collins after negative articles about him started circulating in the press.

“I did reach out to him to see how he was going and to see how he responded to the (media) articles coming out And I got a one word answer.”

“I put the ball in his court, and he never took a bat,” she added.

Fortunately for us, Natalie went into detail about what Collins’ reply was, and it was unsurprisingly on brand for him.

“I just got the word ‘Cheers!’ in response,” he said.

Collins was standoffish with his wife on the honeymoon, and despite her honest intentions of looking for love, Collins’ follow-up actions came off as less than convincing. The relationship between the pair drew criticisms from fans, with many believing that he was simply on the show for clout.

After the first commitment ceremony, Natalie packed up her bags and decided to leave (although conflicting reports say that Collins was removed), and she says she stands by her decision.

“He might be bitter about it, he might hold resentment to me, towards me, (if) that’s how he chooses to respond to the situation, that is not a person I want to be married to.”

Will Collins be at the reunion?

Going by what Natalie said in the interview, it looks as though viewers will be seeing Collins at the reunion.

“I’m going into the reunion with a mindset of, ‘I’m going to treat him how I felt I wanted to be treated at that first dinner party.’”

“I wanted someone to be there, to welcome me, to make me feel included in the group so when he walks in those doors at the reunion, I’m going to welcome him with open arms to show there’s no hatchet, there’s no battlegrounds, there’s no hate, there’s no animosity from me and hopefully he reciprocates.”

“Come down here, clown”: Kyle Sandilands furiously explodes at Australian Idol audience member

Kyle Sandilands has furiously shut down a heckler who called him out during Tuesday night’s episode of Australian Idol.

During the segment, Isaac McCallum performed a rendition of Lukas Graham’s 7 Years, but he forgot some of the words. Kyle was clearly not pleased with the misstep and rolled his eyes and looked disgruntled throughout the performance.

After Isaac had finished, Kyle started grilling Isaac, much to the audience’s dismay.

“How does it feel singing the song with half the words missing,” he sarcastically asked Isaac who confessed he was just nervous.

Not happy with the shock jock’s negative comments towards Isaac, a fan in the audience screamed out: “Kyle, you suck!”.

Australian Idol. Seven.

The outcry really got under Kyle’s skin, who angrily snapped back.

“What? You think you know better, come down here, clown. Come down here and say what you think, you think it’s great? Then shut your pie hole,” he told the audience member.

Did Isaac make it through the round?

Not exactly, but he didn’t get sent home either. Isaac was put on notice, which means that he’s at risk of leaving the competition. At the end of the solo round, the weakest three singers, out of those put on notice, will be eliminated from the competition.

But it wasn’t all three judges who were convinced Isaac should be put on notice. While Kyle was certain about it, Marcia Hines said that she didn’t agree.

“We can’t have people that did a pretty good job be put on notice, and Isaac gets to go through,” Kyle told his fellow judge who eventually agreed.

Australian Idol. Seven.

While Judge Amy Shark didn’t directly have input about Isacc being put on notice, she did have some compliments for the trolley boy.

“You’re a real diamond in the rough, and no matter how many times you’ve had a few fumbles, there’s still something so unique about you and when you’re in it, your voice is just mesmerising,” she said.

Australian Idol continues at 7.30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays on Channel 7 and 7plus.

Interview: “Every single person on that island had lied to my face”: Sarah on her wild Survivor blindside

One of the messiest Survivor Australia Tribal Councils to ever take place in the history of the franchise saw firefighter Sarah Moore after her friend Rhi Bowley flipped her vote.

And, the lead-up to tribal was just as chaotic as the fire pit. In a post-elimination interview with Chattr, Sarah described just how wild the whole afternoon was.

“It was very, very stressful,” she said. “Especially because pretty much everyone was lying to me, and that’s how it had been for me the whole game, really.”

“Apart from the Viola vote, I was always on the wrong side of the vote,” she added. “So it had just gotten to a point where every single person on that island had lied to my face.”

Rhi, Sarah, Alex, Mark and Jaden at Tribal. Survivor. Ten.

Sarah explained why she was speaking to both sides of the alliance

In the episode, Mark had a secret plan to get vengeance for his friend Viola, who was voted out in Monday night’s episode, and he wanted to work with the three Rebels; Alex, Sarah and Rhi to do just that. His plan involved the four of them placing their votes on Caroline and using his idol to deflect the votes from him.

Meanwhile, both of the former Titan women told Caroline and Kitty about Mark’s plan, which put a spanner in the works. Caroline and Kitty were planning to vote with the rest of the original Titans and vote off Mark, alongside Rhi and Sarah.

Kitty and Caroline. Survivor. Ten.

However, that plan changed when Eden grew suss of Rhi and Sarah’s speeches at Tribal, and told his alliance to go for Sarah instead.

But that’s not the only chaos that went down, Rhi randomly flipped her vote to Mark, and Mark played his idol. That meant that his Idol was burned for no reason, and there were only three votes on Caroline and four votes on Sarah – leading her to a so-called “blindside”.

Looking back, Sarah said she felt betrayed that Kitty and Caroline turned against her, even though she voted for the former.

“I did [feel betrayed by Caroline] because I thought we had a genuine connection there,” she said. “I had built this relationship in connection with Kitty and Caroline, which I later found out was only really for one tribal.

“We had multiple chats that you guys didn’t see on the screens where we spoke about being a strong girl Alliance like us for myself, Riri, Kitty, and Caroline, but turns out those chats were not genuine on their behalf. So that really sucks seeing that play out because I really liked those girls

“They were really sticking with their original Alliance from the Titans, which was quite boring, to be honest.”

Love Island Australia’s Lucinda Strafford breaks her silence on split with Zac Nunns

Love Island Australia’s Lucinda Strafford has finally broken her silence on her split with Zac Nunns, and she’s cryptically hinted at infidelity.

The signs were there that the popular reality TV couple had split in the week prior to the official announcement and then on Monday, February 12th, Zac shared a text Instagram post confirming their breakup.

“Hey guys, just thought I’d let you know that Lucinda and I have decided to go our separate ways. I’m not feeling too good about the situation and appreciate all the support so far,” he wrote.

Lucinda and Zac met on Love Island Australia 2023, and continued dating outside the villa. After filming wrapped he spent time with her in the UK, and she visited him in Australia.

What did Lucinda say about the breakup?

Lucinda stayed quiet in the hours following Zac’s post, however, she’s since opened up about what happened on Snapchat Q&A.

A fan contacted her asking if she “was ok” and said she’d “heard the rumours”. Lucinda’s reply was interesting, to say the least.

“Hey guys! Thank you all for the support. I’ve decided to deal with things a little differently and
keep myself to myself holding my head high,” she began.

The next part of the reply is where things get spicy.

“Thank you to everyone sending me pics/videos of things and having my back love you all xxx PS. when I feel like the time is right, I’ll speak more openly about the situation”.

Of course, many fans are wondering what photos and videos could be relevant to Zac and Lucinda’s split. Well, last month So Dramatic posted a video of Zac dancing topless at a club, which could well be the video she’s referring to.

MAFS 2024: Ummm… Apparently, Collins was removed from the experiment?!

Controversial cast mate Collins Christian left the MAFS 2024 experiment for the second – and presumably last – time on Monday night’s episode.

While the exit appeared to come about because his ‘wife’ Natalie Parham wanted to leave, reports suggest he was actually removed from the show.

On Sunday night’s episode, Natalie wrote ‘leave’ at the Commitment Ceremony and Collins wrote ‘stay’. As per the rules of the experiment, if one person in the relationship writes ‘stay’, then both parties must stay to work on the relationship for one more week. However, Natalie and Collins packed up and left the following night.

MAFS. Nine.

A source told Yahoo Lifestyle Australia that a MAFS insider said Collins was made to leave by production.

“The rules and premise of the show are irrelevant if they compromise a participant’s wellbeing or mental health, and ESA [producers Endemol Shine Australia] take their duty of care seriously,” the insider said.

“Natalie had already tried to quit at the first dinner party, but was talked into remaining until the first commitment ceremony to ‘see their storyline through’. When it then became apparent she would have to stay another week, bosses stepped in and removed her and Collins from the show as soon as they could wrap it up on camera,” they continued.

“The experiment is an emotional rollercoaster as it is, but factor in Natalie’s vulnerability from her lack of relationship experience prior to filming and the grief she was experiencing following her father’s very recent death and she was in no state to continue production.”

Chattr has reached out to Nine for comment.

What happened at the Commitment Ceremony?

During Natalie and Collin’s time on the couch with the experts, the groom stressed that he wanted to remain in the experiment with his bride.

However, when John Aiken asked Collins what he’d done to show his passion for making things work with Natalie, he struggled to answer the question.

Natalie ended up in tears as Collins got stuck into a fight with John over the groom’s treatment of his wife.

Then, on Monday’s episode, Natalie told Collins that she believed everything he says is an act, and told him that she wanted to exit the experiment, which they did.

Survivor Australia 2024: Meet the cast that makes up the new Titans and Rebels

The Survivor Australia 2024 was originally made up of 24 castaways battling it out to become the sole survivor.

Those players were divided into two teams; Titans v Rebels.

“Titans are both physically intimidating and utterly ruthless, but they’ll need to be at their absolute best to take on the Rebels — a group of individuals who live life by a different set of rules,” streaming giant Paramount explained in a statement.

However, now that the game is really gearing up, there’s been a shake up and all of the remaining contestants had to grab buffs which gave them a 50/50 chance of switching to a new tribe. The results? There’s a new group of Rebels and Titans, check them out below.

This is exactly how much money each MAFS 2024 participant got paid

Of course, the MAFS participants are setting themselves up for a lucrative social media career by appearing on Married At First Sight, but they’re actually paid for their time on the show too.

How much exactly, you wonder? Well, we have the answers!

An anonymous participant told Daily Telegraph that they were paid $150 a day, and an additional $125 for food. If the contestants film a seven-day week, then they’ll be receiving $1925 a week.

However, the same contestant told the publication that they weren’t allocated any money for their outfits or grooming.

“I am broke after having appeared on the show,” they said. “I couldn’t even make my rent payments with what we were being paid.

“We would film late so I would be ordering takeaway most nights. I spent a bomb on outfits, hair and make-up, and to top it off, they didn’t even let us wear what we wanted.”

“If someone was wearing the same colour as someone else, they would make you change.”

The MAFS participant said that the social media ban, which blocks the contestants from using their accounts, is an additional financial burden.

“And anyone who runs a business on Instagram is struggling because they can’t post anything.”

How much were past MAFS participants paid?

Even though the current participant has complained about the amount they’re paid, it’s significantly more than in previous years.

Back in 2022, MAFS season 8 villain Olivia Frazer conducted an Instagram Q&A and was asked directly about the amount the participants were paid to be involved.

“You get paid $1100 weekly,” she responded.

“Out of that you have to pay for your rent, bills, food, hair, make-up, outfits (so many outfits because producers need to approve). Plus during COVID we weren’t allowed in stores so we had to pay delivery fees for everything, which adds up.”

Olivia added, “I came out of it with next to nothing.”

Interview: Survivor’s Viola reveals who flipped on their alliance in an unaired scene

Although Viola Jokudu was an original Titan on Survivor Australia, she’s got high praise for one of the Rebels and shared a secret of hers that wasn’t aired.

In a post-elimination interview with Chattr, Viola revealed that Aileen Chong actually turned on her original Rebel alliance, but the scene didn’t make it to TV.

Aileen is clearly tight with Feras, and is part of an alliance gunning for Kirby. However, Viola revealed that Aileen was originally teamed up with Kirby and Scotty. She said that Aileen actually ditched her alliance with Kirby and struck up a deal with Feras before the teams were switched up on Sunday night’s episode.

Aileen and Valeria. Survivor. Ten.

“For her to be with Kirby and Scotty, and then switch over once she released how interesting Kirby’s game was, and for her choice to go to Feras, again, that is a very switched-on player,” she said. “And I think for them to not show that I think is really poor and really sad. I think Aileen is phenomenal in her own way.”

Viola added that she thinks Aileen is doing a great job of flying under the radar at the moment.

“I think it’s very interesting how some people have just forgotten that Aileen would have been behind what would have been one of the most epic votes ever, and then she just sort of managed to sink back into the background”.

Viola on her relationship with Valeria

The sweet friendship between Viola and Valeria had fans shipping them, and, those viewers will be happy to know that they’re still great mates.

“Valeria is my wife. From early on we both recognised that we just got along so, so well and we’re both so similar and we’re both so savage as well in the funniest ways. My experience on Survivor was so much more funnier because she was there,” Viola said.

Valeria and Viola. Instagram.

“I think to have someone that is so funny that is also such a strategic player I think it’s absolutely amazing to know that my journey has ended but I’m still rooting hard for Val and Mark.”

Viola said that she and Valeria have been spending time together outside o the show.

“Valeria invited myself and Winna to one of her influencer events,” she said. “So I get to the influencer event and I hadn’t seen Valeria in a long time and I was like, “That’s what she looks like with makeup on?!” I’m like, ‘What!'”

“But it was so good to get to know them, both Winna and Val, in this chill sense, to have a few drinks, laugh with them, dance with them.

“Then me and [Valeria] met up again just last week, and we just went out dancing, and we were just living our best life. We forgot anyone else was there and we were just having the time of our lives.”
