The Block Recap Episode 28: Brett gives zero f**ks when talking to the camera crew

It’s episode 28 of The Block 2023 and Brett has opened the show by swearing at the camera crew. Cool. Sick of being woken up at six every morning in the middle of winter, he is not happy.

“Leave me alone please,” he says before the crew asks if he’s “trying to find something”.

“I’m not trying to find something. I’m trying to find some space from you (BEEP) in the morning. Every f**king morning. Go and harass someone else, for f**k’s sake.” he says. Charming.

Later, Foreman Dan rightly tells him off and he apologises.

Scotty and Shelley’s walkaround

It’s also Wednesday (well Friday on The Block) which means it’s time for Scotty and Shelley to do their walkaround.

While last week they were more interested in the tea, this week, there are serious budget chats, especially for Kyle and Leslie.

Scotty is concerned about their budget, saying they have to try and win some rooms and challenges to get back on track.

Meanwhile, Shelley is disgusted over the state of Ash and Leah’s living room, saying that they need to clean it up, otherwise, they will cause permanent damage.

“It looks like a bomb site in there,” she tells them. “That is not cool, at all.”

Shelley Craft and Scotty Cam. Nine

Meanwhile, Scotty tells Eliza and Liberty that their budget is “cooked” too, and he wants them to change their building team.

The BayCISS Challenge

The BayCISS challenge is finally over; however, the Blockheads are thrilled to be working on such a rewarding project.

Darren Palmer then awards Eliza and Liberty, Leah and Ash and Kristy and Brett the win which includes a cool $10,000.

In celebration, Eliza thinks it’s a good time to go and get her nails done while Liberty is back at Charming St painting. By the time she gets back — after three hours — Liberty is fumin’ and describes Eliza as “selfish”, accusing her of not working hard enough or taking The Block seriously.

Tensions are seriously brewing as the kitchens are about to be unveiled!

Neighbours’ Xavier Molyneaux was a really popular cast member on an Australian reality show

Xavier Molyneaux may be the man cuddling up to Mischa Barton on the Neighbours revival, but it’s not his first rodeo on TV.

Back in 2020, Molyneaux competed on the 12th series of Big Brother Australia at age 22. He came 9th on the season and was evicted after 30 days in the BB house.

Big Brother was Molyneaux’s first time on TV. The now 25-year-old went on to score roles in short films Girl and Aussie of the Year, as well as Take My Hand. However, Neighbours is his first big role.

What role will Xavier Molyneaux play on Neighbours?

Molyneaux is a newcomer to Ramsay Street and is playing the role of Byron Stone.

His character actually appeared in the final week of the 2022 season of Neighbours but was played by former Nowhere Boys actor Joe Klocek. The character of Byron Stone has been made a permanent inclusion since Molyneaux joined.

Molyneaux plays Barton’s love interest on the show, who will be playing Reese Sinclair.

“She’s [Reece Sinclair] very mysterious,” she told Sky News of her character. “You don’t really know why she’s there at first and then it turns out there is a lot more to her being there than originally meets the eye. So it’s not quite straightforward.”

Neighbours. Ten.

When does Neighbours return?

It’s already started! Yup, the long-awaited return of Neighbours kicked off on September 18 on 10Peach and 10Play.

Who’s made surprise returns in the Neighbours revival?

While some beloved characters, like Karl and Susan Kennedy, were revealed to be returning to Ramsay Street as soon as the revival was announced, some other names were kept tightly under wrap.

The first episode saw Imogen Willis, Daniel Robinson, Angie Rebecchi and Callum Rebecchi all make cameos at Toadie Rebecchi and Terese Willis’ wedding.

Neighbours airs on Monday to Friday at 6:30 on 10Peach and 10Play.

The new four-part drama Heat tells the dark story of an Australian family being drastically affected by raging bushfires.

The storyline follows two families who reunite for an annual summer holiday in the Victorian highlands where tensions quickly begin to simmer under the surface.

While the premise certainly sounds intriguing, the cast list of Heat is an absolute doozy. The All-star affair includes The Secret Life of Us’ Pia Miranda, The Real Love Boat’s Darren McMullen, Neighbours’ Jane Allsop, EastendersDanny Dyer and Home and Away’s Olympia Valance. Whew!

Danny Dyer warned fans that the premise of the show is dark

Heat is Dyer’s first acting gig since leaving his iconic role as Mick Carter on EastEnders in 2022.

During an interview on UK show This Morning to promote the new drama, Dyer warned fans that they may struggle to cope with the heaviness of the content in Heat.

“It’s a nutty bit of work,” he told the host.

“I got this script and I read it and thought [exasperated exhale]. This is just… I’m going to be straight, I’m here to promote it but, if you don’t like dark things, don’t go near it.

“It’s dark. It’s so dark – I was thinking “Can they put this on the telly?” He added.

Interview: Danielle Laidley opens up about where her relationship with her kids stands

Danielle Laidley has been open about the struggle she’s faced maintaining a relationship with her kids Molly, Brooke and Kane following her transition to becoming a woman.

In an interview with Mediaweek and Chattr’s The Entertainment Hotline podcast, ahead of the release of her Stan Original Documentary Revealed: Danielle Laidley: Two Tribes, she said that she currently has a good relationship with her son Kane; however, it’s still “a work in progress” with the others.

“To be honest, there’s still a considerable amount of work to do with two of my children,” she said.

“My son, who was there when it all happened, he organised so much stuff and stood beside me. And through media barrage stood strong, and stood by my side. So I’m very, very grateful.”

Danielle’s relationship with children Brooke and Molly

Laidley shared that her relationship with Brooke and Molly, who she shares with ex-wife Joanne Laidley, is strained.

She lamented that the damage is related to the downward spiral she went through prior to being publicly outed as a trans woman by a leaked mug shot.

“One’s a little bit older than Kane, and my youngest daughter is only just 24 now. So take it back four years ago, if you’re 20 or 21, and that gets plastered on papers, and how I was acting at the time before that really made for a hard time with their relationship.

“But, before that, it was gold. I loved it. I spent most days with my kids and had a great relationship our them. So, hopefully, one day. It will be in their own time.”

Danielle’s hope for the future

The former AFL player has shared that she holds on to a glimmer of hope that her family will eventually be reunited and spend special occasions together.

“I just keep working on myself to be the best person that I can. So when they’re ready in their own time [to build a relationship again].”

“One day we’ll [hopefully] be sitting around the Christmas dinner table with both [my partner] Donna and I, all our kids, and our grandkids. That would be pretty much a utopia for us.”

Jane Lu gives an update on The Beanies progress since their Shark Tank Australia appearance

Jane Lu’s latest Shark Tank Australia investment is completely out of left field in comparison to her usual choices; however, she’s very excited about her involvement with The Beanies. Rather than presenting a product, The Beanies pitched themselves on Shark Tank as a children’s music group.

Their final valuation was low, with 50% of the company being given up in exchange for an investment of $150,000, however, they scored three Sharks, Lu, Robert Herjavec and Davie Fogarty on their side.

Reflecting on her investment in The Beanies, Lu has shared that there are exciting things in the works for the three-piece group.

“This is probably the best pitch in Shark Tank history,” Lu said in a post on Instagram. “Have we found the new Wiggles?”

“I can’t believe I’m in the children’s entertainment industry. This is so exciting for me. As a mum of two, I follow The Beanies to follow the fun and we’ll be coming live to a city near you.”

The Beanies. Instagram.

How have Jane Lu’s other investments on Shark Tank gone?

Lu has previously shared an update on two products she’s invested in on Shark Tank Australia, the Countour Cube and Stryda.

The contour Cube is an ice facial tool that is designed to depuff and tighten skin and was a viral TikTok sensation even before being pitched on the show.

Lu shared that the Contour Cube is thriving since she invested in it.

“I’ve been using it for the last five months since we filmed Shark Tank and look at my skin. It feels less puffy and tighter. And I feel pretty good for 37. All I use is a moisturiser and my Contour Cube. So not only is this part of my daily routine now but you probably guessed it, I have invested in Contour Cube.”

“They have a cult following on TikTok, it’s used by Kendall Jenner, stocked by so many retailers including ShowPo and run by amazing entrepreneurs,” she said.

Meanwhile, Stryda has also had great success since being featured on the show.

It’s the only insole made with over 90% cork and has impressive profit margins. Lu detailed the success Stryda has had since the show.

“This Shark Tank has grown by 11 times since we filmed five months ago and I’m gonna tell you how we did it,” Lu said in a post shared on her Instagram.

“We have big things coming for this incredible brand. So come on this journey with us follow Contour Cube and try it for yourself.”

Shark Tank continues on Tuesdays at 7.30 pm on 10 and 10Play.

Yee haw! Netflix announces an epic neo-western drama series set in the outback of Australia

Grab your cowboy hats because Netflix is bringing us a brand-new Australian outback series, Desert King (working title).

The six-part neo-western drama represents one of the largest local screen productions filmed in both the Northern Territory (on the traditional land of the Larrakia people in Darwin) and in Adelaide, South Australia, on the land of the Kaurna people.

Here’s everything we know about Desert King (working title).

What is Desert King about?

Desert King is an explosive drama about power, family, land and legacy. The thrilling story will follow the world’s largest cattle station which is left without a clear successor, where generational clashes threaten to tear the fictional Lawson family apart.

Sensing this once great dynasty is in decline, the outback’s most powerful factions – rival cattle barons, desert gangsters, Indigenous elders and billionaire miners move in for the kill.

Desert King (working title). Netflix/Tony Mott

Who is in the cast?

No cast has been announced at the time of publication.

When will it be released?

Given that the series has only just begun production, we can expect the series in 2024 or beyond.

Who is behind Desert King?

Desert King (working title) is produced by Paul Ranford (Stateless, True History of the Kelly Gang) and created by Tim Lee (Mystery Road, Bump) alongside Ben Davies (Bondi Rescue, The First Inventors, Outback Ringer). It is directed by Greg McLean (La Brea, Wolf Creek) and is a joint production between Easy Tiger and Ronde.

“We have just started shooting on a cattle station in the Northern Territory. That’s where this epic story is set, and where we meet the Lawson family, as well as a group of Top-End characters that we know audiences will simply love,” Executive producer Davies told media.

Desert King (working title). Netflix/Tony Mott

“The Top End cattle industry is a world rarely seen on our screens, and to authentically capture it we have embedded ourselves here in a most fantastic way. Of the 180 crew we have in the Territory, at least 140 are living on the station. It’s a monumental effort by production pulling this off in such a remote place.

“In terms of infrastructure and scale this cattle property is unmatched anywhere else in the world, so fortunately it can accommodate our large cast and crew. And with the team living here, we’re capturing remarkably authentic images that, when matched with powerful storytelling, encapsulate the world we’re looking to share, not just locally but globally as well.”

Desert King (working title) will stream on Netflix, soon.

We’re listening! Everything you need to know about the upcoming Fraiser reboot

Fraiser was one of the most celebrated comedies of the 1990s and the 2000s, so it’s no wonder that in 2023, it’s getting a reboot.

While shows like Gossip Girl, Charmed, Full House, Sex and the City and That 70’s Show have all seen varying success with a new audience, we’d be lying if we said we weren’t a little apprehensive about this news.

The original show ran for a whopping 11 seasons between 1993 and 2004 and follows Fraiser Crane (played by Kelsey Grammar) — a supporting character the Boomer gen met on Cheers.

Fraiser was a therapist in Boston who moved to Seattle to start a brand-new life, including helming a talk show while he struggled with his own life alongside his father (John Mahoney) and brother, Niles (David Hyde Pierce).

Fraiser reboot 2023
Fraiser was one of the most celebrated comedies of the 1990s and the 2000s

In an interview with US Weekly in 2019, Grammar said that there was “movement” toward a new iteration of the show.

“We actually are talking to a few writers and discussing the options and where we might think it would be appropriate to put it. So there’s some movement; we’ll see what happens,” he said at the time, before adding he wanted it to be “really good” before seeing the light of day.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Fraiser reboot.

Where and when can you stream the Fraiser reboot?

Frasier will stream exclusively on Paramount+ From Friday, October 13.

Who will star in the Fraiser reboot?

Grammar will make a comeback for the next instalment, because Fraiser wouldn’t be Fraiser without, you know, Fraiser!

However, unfortunately for long-time stans of the show, he will be the only OG cast member to return.

“Some of the folks – probably most of the folks who were on the original show – would be back, but were someplace else,” Grammar told the same outlet. “Something has happened. We’re not going to pick up where we left off.”

Mahoney passed away in February 2018 but will no doubt get an honourable mention, and Hyde Pierce, Jane Leeves (Daphne Moon) and Peri Gilpin (Roz Doyle) have not been announced as returning players.

New characters will include Jack Cutmore-Scott as Frasier’s son, Freddy, Nicholas Lyndhurst as Frasier’s old college buddy, Alan, and Toks Olagundoye as Alan’s colleague.

Jack Cutmore-Scott. Paramount+

Jess Salguerio will star as Freddy’s roommate, and Anders Keith will appear as Frasier’s nephew, David.

What will the 2023 Fraiser reboot be about?

With new characters and a new location, it’s clear that we will be hearing a whole new tale surrounding our protagonist.

“He’s our brave little soldier that continues on in life, finding new challenges and a new love and new people and a new city and stuff like that,” Grammar told People in February 2023.

“I’m really very excited about it, and we’ll certainly always honour the past. We have to honour the fact that John Mahoney died and that Martin is no longer with us. We’ll be dealing with that for sure.”

Is there a trailer?

You bet! Watch it below!

Frasier will stream exclusively on Paramount+ From Friday, October 13.

The Block Recap Episode 27: Eliza and Liberty keep changing their mind

It’s episode 27 of The Block 2023 and Kristy has now set her sights firmly on Eliza and Liberty. Just like Scotty, she is sick of hearing them complain about how hard it is on Charming Street.

Now that they’ve had a chance to debrief with Scotty, the sisters are facing the tough decision to get rid of their builder Mark and his team.

Meanwhile, despite their continued backstabbing, Foreman Dan has nothing but praise for Kristy, Brett and their building team for how professional they are — and clearly, he’s not watching back the footage.

Over in Kyle and Leslie’s house, their kitchen is lacking in natural light so they PIVOT, changing their plans to include some Velux skylights.

Eliza and Liberty’s tough decision

We are then back with Eliza and Liberty where Scotty texts the girls saying has set up a meeting at a local Hampton East wine bar for them.

During the meet and greet, the girls and the new team get on like a house on fire — hopefully, a metaphorical house, and not theirs if they choose to switch…

Eliza and Liberty. Nine

But when they return to The Block, they become confused because Mark and the builders have made a strong headway on their kitchen with Forman Keith praising them. Now, they have no idea what to do.

In the meantime, Leah has had a hard time after being not satisfied with her kitchen bench, trying to make changes at the last minute. She then breaks down as everything has become too much, and she misses her family back at home.

And as if the teams don’t have enough on their plates, the BayCISS challenge house build continues with Leah taking the transit van that was supposed to be for Steph and no one is happy. Shocking.

John Aiken reflects on his fondest memories with MAFS’ Dr Trisha Stratford following her death

It’s been revealed that Dr Trisha Stratford – who was a relationship expert on MAFS Australia – has passed away at age 72.

Her former co-star John Aiken has reflected on some of the fondest memories he has of working with her on Married At First Sight.

“Nothing could really rattle her. She was always the smartest person in the room when I was around her. The MAFS participants would throw things at her [and] she was fine,” Aiken said during an interview on the Today show.

“We all loved her. She was really that person at the cornerstone of the show that was all about the science. She loved the brain.”

“She was amazing and really, it just shows you, you can do so many things in your life,” a visibly emotional John added.

John Aiken said Dr Trisha Stratford would keep him in check on MAFS

Aiken and Stratford appeared on MAFS Australia season one and continued to work together on the popular reality show until she left after season seven. Aiken is still a relationship expert on the series.

Aiken told the Today hosts that Stratford always reminded him to be kind while advising the MAFS contestants.

“Sometimes I’d be yelling at the participants and she’d say, ‘John don’t get too preachy, bring it down a notch,'” he reflected.

“She was always that calm voice of reason and we kind of all looked up to her,’ he added.

John broke the news of her death on social media

The cause of Stratford’s death hasn’t been revealed, but her passing became public knowledge when Aiken posted a tribute to her on Monday, September 1 8.

“I’m heartbroken and devastated that my friend and dear colleague Trisha has passed away,” the post began.

“We shared an amazing seven seasons of @MAFS together. She loved everything New Zealand, relationships, the All Blacks, the Black Caps, French wine and traveling the world. I’ll miss you Tish. Thankyou for all the memories. Jx”

Interview: Sandra Sully shares the Meghan Trainor song she planned to sing in The Masked Singer

Sandra Sully’s performance of Don’t Cha by The Pussycat Dolls on The Masked Singer Australia impressed the nation. But it was the reveal, which showed that the iconic newsreader was behind the mask, that shocked the country.

During a post-elimination interview with Chattr, Sully shared that she had an arsenal of raunchy songs to perform during her time on the show.

If the popular presenter made it through round one, she said that she was planning on performing Made You Look by Meghan Trainor.

“I was given a number of choices [of what to sing] and I really liked The Pussycat Dolls.

“You don’t know when you’re going to get voted out, so you have to try to prepare a couple [of songs].

“I was quite relieved when I got the flick last night because I didn’t have to try to get through another two performances,” she laughed.

Sandra Sully nearly quit The Masked Singer because of performance nerves

Sully admitted that despite her prolific background in television, she was extremely nervous about performing on The Masked Singer.

“I nearly backed out a couple of times because I felt like I just couldn’t do it,” she said. “But my husband got me over the line full credit to my husband Simon.”

“He just kept reminding me that the more negative I was, I was just going to take myself to a negative place. He said to just have fun with it and laugh at yourself and throw caution to the wind. And that’s what I did.”

Sandra Sully was relieved to be eliminated on The Masked Singer.

Sully said that when she discovered she would be the first reveal from her group – and subsequently eliminated from the competition – part of her was relieved.

“Look, If I’m brutally honest, I think the competitive side of me said ‘just one more’, even though I wasn’t sure that I could do it, and get through another song and the rehearsals and laying down voice tracks.

“I would have liked a second go, but then when [the elimination] happened. I was actually relieved it was over. I was seriously torn between both outcomes.

“But after last night, I am really glad it’s over. And I achieved what I wanted to achieve, which was to challenge myself. And surprise myself.”

Revealed – Danielle Laidley: Two Tribes tells the AFL player’s story of being publicly outed as trans

The new Stan original documentary Revealed – Danielle Laidley: Two Tribes will see the AFL Hall of Fame player and transgender woman share her powerful story about having her transition outed in a very public way.

Danielle Laidley played for the AFL teams West Coast Eagles and North Melbourne from 1987 to 1997 and was the coach of the latter from 2003 to 2009.

Her transition wasn’t public knowledge until she was charged with stalking a former partner and drug possession and taken to a police station to have her mug shot taken. Police officers shared the images of Laidley dressed as a woman between them in a WhatsApp group, and the picture leaked to the media and made front page news just hours later.

Revealed – Danielle Laidley: Two Tribes. Stan.

What is Revealed – Danielle Laidley: Two Tribes about?

The documentary follows Laidley’s childhood, her AFL career and her public outing as a trans woman. It also delves into her role now as an advocate for the transgender community.

“It’s with nervous anticipation that I share my story with Australia – it hasn’t been the easiest path, but I’ve made some treasured memories along the way and met some incredible people,” Laidley said of the doco.

“This story won’t pull any punches; you’ll see me at my lowest points and at my highest, surrounded by those whom I care about most who stood by me through it all. My truth is becoming an increasingly common one in today’s society, and highlights the need for greater inclusivity, understanding and acceptance.”

Revealed – Danielle Laidley: Two Tribes. Stan.

Is there a trailer?

There sure is! You can watch it below.

Who’s behind Revealed – Danielle Laidley: Two Tribes?

The original documentary is co-written and co-directed by Emmy award-winning Julie Kalceff (First Day) and Sam Matthews (Unboxed), with principal production funding from Screen Australia in association with VicScreen in collaboration with Fremantle Documentaries, with Fremantle handling international distribution.

It is created in conjunction with JAM TV (Stan Original Documentary Series Show Me The Money I & IIMaking Their Mark).

“Danelle’s is a remarkable story and one that JAMTV feels privileged to have been entrusted to tell,” Head of Content at JAM TV Luke Tunnecliffe said.

“We’ve known Danielle for many decades so appreciate that she felt comfortable allowing us unfiltered access into her journey. Her life has so many layers and is incredibly nuanced and inspirational at the same time and we feel the audience will get a true insight into her highest of highs, and more recently her lows as she reconnects with those she loves the most.”

The Masked Singer Australia 2023 Recap Episode 2: The most serious contestant ever was revealed

It’s episode two of The Masked Singer Australia 2023 and our guessing panel — Abbie ChatfieldChrissie SwanDave Hughes and Mel B — are ready to make some more wild guesses!

Snow Fox

Song: Addicted To You – Avicii

Guesses: Jewel, Kim Petras, Holly Valance, Delta Goodrem

Clues:  I am the Snow Fox; graceful, sophisticated, and resilient. But there is more to my life than glamour, you don’t see the amount of hard work it takes to survive in my environment. Of course, here in my winter wonderland, it’s like every day is Christmas. But staying warm is brutal. My pulse has to beat fast. You know, little Snow Foxes are looked after well by their parents. It was during Snow Fox High School that my abilities became apparent. Now that I’m older I have the drive needed to stay alive.

The Masked Singer Snow Fox on episode 2

Tiny

Song: Walking on Sunshine – Katrina And The Waves

Guesses: Neil Finn, John Mayer, Caleb Harper, Jack Johnson

Clues: Hi, I’m Tiny and nothing much scares me. I think we all know that’s true. Sorry, forgive my speed, I’m not as fast as I used to be. So let me tell you about myself. As a monster I’m top of the class, one step ahead! Okay, we’re all caught up now. Here ye, here ye, let my voice be heard all over the world. You know, there’s a lot of opportunities as a monster. It’s actually very difficult choosing what to do. Do you really need to know more about me? Or is it ‘fin’? That means the end.

Bouncer

Song: Hit The Road Jack – Ray Charles

Guesses: Luke Hemmings, Ryan Corr, Khanh Ong, Nick Lachey

Clues: Where I come from it’s hot, almost 100 in the old money and everything I’ve got is from the sweat of my brow. You know, being a big red – well that’s in my DNA, you’ve got no choice but to be what you’ll be from a young age. But that’s alright, I’m a glass half-full roo. After all, we’ve all got our demons and angels. But if you believe in the higher power you’re going to be okay. Well, it’s getting late, almost midnight, another long but ordinary day for this roo. Time to close the door.

Fawn

Song: Don’t Cha – The Pussycat Dolls

Guesses: Carrie Bickmore, Pip Edwards, Jackie O, Chloé Hayden

Clues: As a Fawn, I spend a lot of my time camouflaged, you don’t really see the real me. Not completely. I’m always on the move, maybe that’s why fitness plays such a big part in my life. Okay, let me be direct about this: like Bambi, there’s often heartbreak around me but I need to be the model of composure by giving 100 every single time. I prefer somewhere warm, but I can withstand the cold too. I’m quick, everybody knows that, maybe that’s why I’m always first.

Bluebottle

Song: I Say a Little Prayer – Dionne Warwick

Guesses: Peach PRC, Gladys Knight, Shaynna Blaze, Emma ‘Baby Spice’ Bunton

Clues:  As you can see, I’m a Bluebottle, although I had no choice in the colour. I’m a little animal with a big warning. I can cause you severe pain. Don’t worry, no license to kill. Just annoy. Let me tell you what the water gave me… no, not mermaids. Abalone or something like that. Oh yes, I could teach you all a thing or two. Do you find me beautiful? Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

The Reveal

Fawn was revealed to be iconic Australian newsreader, Sandra Sully.

“I say not to most things, I’m not going to die in the jungle, I’m not going to die in a cave and be shoved down a hole with spidesr. This is just so much fun. I read the news every night and tragedy happens all the time, really heavy stuff. But, you do only live once, life is short and don’t live a life of regret,” Sully told the judging panel while revealing her choice to go on the show.

The Masked Singer Australia continues Monday at 7.30pm on 10 And 10 Play.

My Kitchen Rules 2023 Recap Episode 7: Gatecrashers Aaron and Chris’ “dude food”

It’s episode seven of My Kitchen Rules 2023 and tonight we’re in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire a.k.a the Shire a.k.a God’s Country and Gatecrashers Aaron and Chris are ready to cook.

The BBQ besties have decided that they’re going to win because they have an “element of surprise” — smoke, BB!!! Or as Marcus likes to call it: “dude food”.

Aaron and Chris. Seven

Here for the “bragging rights”, Aaron and Chris welcomed guests to their Instant Restaurant, Meat Dreams — and once you see the menu, you’ll understand how apt this is.

Also, to give us an insight into how this is going to play out, Chris has TWELVE BBQs at home, which is excessive but also, good for him!

Meanwhile, Colin gives the updated state of play. Everyone will cook again with the lowest team eliminated from the competition.

Entrée

Crispy pork belly taco

Judging:

  • Manu said the flavour profile was “amazing”, while Colin loved the “guac component”.
  • While there were a lot of good things in the entree, the pork wasn’t crispy.
  • Colin said it was a “10 for me until I ate it” while Manu said, “it could have been a knock-out dish”!

Main

BBQ Plate (Lamb fillets, pork ribs and chicken wings)

  • Colin said the chicken was the best because it was “moist” and liked the cornbread and disagreed it was the best main presented so far, saying the lamb was way too dry.
  • Manu loved it but said there wasn’t enough sauce.

Dessert

Lemon lime pie

Judging

  • Manu said: “Pastry case, tick! Lemon, lime curd, tick! Meringue, tick!”, however, thought there was too much meringue and it was too sweet.
  • Colin said, “technically” it was great, but thought it needed more lemon curd.

The Scoring

  • Amber and Melissa – 7
  • Christian and Nick – 6
  • Marcus and Sonia – 6
  • Patrizia and Brigita – 7
  • Claudean and Anthony – 4

Total Score: 30/50

Manu

  • Entrée – 7
  • Main – 7
  • Dessert – 7

Colin

  • Entrée – 7
  • Main – 7
  • Desert – 7

Total Score: 42

Overall Score: 72

The Leaderboard

  • Aaron and Chris – 72
  • Amber and Melissa – yet to cook
  • Christian and Nick – yet to cook
  • Marcus and Sonia – yet to cook
  • Patrizia and Brigita – yet to cook
  • Claudean and Anthony – yet to cook

The drama

Over at the table, the producers have put Christian next to Claudean and they both look as uncomfortable as each other. Also, Claudean hates the new teams, which is both unsurprising and amazing given that her arch nemesis Coco and Pearls have been eliminated.

Meanwhile, Nick has moved on from Rach and is now in love with Gatecrasher Patrizia. Christian then wants to address “the elephant in the room” and asks Brigita if she’s pregnant. The whole table is like WTF, Christian?! Thankfully, she is and Patrizia, Brigita and her unborn child swiftly become the “first team of three”. Lel.

When it came to the judging, Claudean decided to be strategic to remain in the competition, giving them a four.

Claudean. Seven

The Block Recap Episode 26: Eliza and Liberty’s tough decision and Scotty lays down the law

It’s episode 26 of The Block 2023 and it’s kitchen and laundry week, one of the biggest builds the Blockheads will face in their three-month-long ~jOuRNeY~.

After winning with their STUH-NNING master bedroom and walk-in robe on Sunday, Steph and Gian have chosen Eliza and Liberty to accompany them on a getaway to the Crown Hotel in Melbourne. In addition to this, the prize also includes a hot lap in a luxury car on Phillip Island.

Brett and Kristy. Nine

Unsurprisingly, Kristy and Brett were positively outraged, offering to pay $5k for the experience, however, Steph and Gian declined.

Once again, Kristy and Leah decided to b**ch about Steph, accusing her of being strategic for taking the girls on the getaway. Obviously, this is not a real thing and these girls seriously really need to get a life. Then, during the Domain Open for Inspections, Leah and Ash questioned the 10 that Marty Fox gave Steph and Gian.

The kitchens get underway

Knowing that this is going to be a big week, the Blockheads work hard as their Kinsman kitchens start to take shape.

Thankfully, Kristy and Brett have a huge week ahead of them, which hopefully means they’ll focus on building. Not only do they have a kitchen to build, but they also have to finish off their dining space and complete a laundry. On top of this, they’ve had to restump the majority of their downstairs home.

The Challenge – Bayside Community Centre

The Blockheads. Nine

The Blockheads are given an important challenge. This week they are renovating the Bayside Community and Information Support Centre (BayCISS).

Split into two teams of our worst nightmares, Kristy and Brett, Leah and Ash and Eliza and Liberty are tasked with renovating the inside while Steph and Gian and Kyle and Leslie – with the help of Block landscaper Dave Franklin and his team – will do the outside.

It promises to be a very rewarding challenge.

Steph and Gian’s getaway

Once at the Crown for their getaway, Scotty joins Steph, Gian, Eliza and Liberty for dinner and he asks them about the big fat eff-off divide that is taking place.

Steph tells him that while she puts on a brave face, she can’t help but feel the heat when it comes to the mean girls of The Block.

Meanwhile, Scotty gives some advice to the sisters, telling them they need to stop whinging and complaining about being “cooked tunas” and take control of their build. He also advises them to get read of their builder Mark and his team, telling Eliza and Liberty he has a new bunch of blokes for them to meet.

Scotty, Liberty and Eliza. Nine

Once everyone is back on The Block, it’s “tools down” and Kristy says she couldn’t care less about anyone but herself, Brett, Leah and Ash.

“I’m not here to make friends,” she says and good, because you truly aren’t making any!

My Kitchen Rules 2023: Meet sisters Patricija and Brigita

Patricija and Brigita, My Kitchen Rules 2023 contestants and two fiercely opinionated Lithuanian sisters, share two common traits: the same birth mother and the extraordinary talent of transforming the humble potato.

Patricija, a criminal defence solicitor, readily admits that her dry sense of humour, lack of emotion, and “resting b*tch face” may rub people the wrong way.

On the other hand, Brigita stands in stark contrast, being laid-back, easy-going, and always going with the flow.

While Patricija adores being an ardent fan of MKR and enjoys nourishing others, she steers clear of seafood and lamb. Brigita is more adventurous and enjoys eating her steak blue.

MKR continues on Monday at 7:30pm on Channel Seven and Seven Plus.

My Kitchen Rules 2023: Meet childhood friends Amber and Mel

Fun, bubbly and warm friends Amber and Mel have teamed up to cook together on My Kitchen Rules 2023.

Amber is witty and unapologetic, unafraid to speak her mind regardless of whether you like it or not. Mel, on the other hand, takes a more diplomatic approach and prides herself on providing constructive criticism. She considers herself a high-achiever and aspires to become an MKR champion.

Having married into a Lebanese family, Mel aims to blend her in-laws’ recipes with her Australian background for a fusion culinary experience.

When Amber and Mel join forces in the kitchen, their energy becomes infectious. With wine, music, and a cookbook, the kitchen transforms into their stage. It’s not uncommon for them to break into song and dance while whipping up a delicious feast!

MKR continues on Monday at 7:30pm on Channel Seven and Seven Plus.

My Kitchen Rules 2023: Meet BBQ Champions Aaron and Chris

My Kitchen Rules contestants and friends and Aaron and Chris met through Instagram back in 2018, and have formed a strong bond ever since.

Aaron is a former Butcher and runs Australia’s largest BBQ-dedicated YouTube channel. Meanwhile, Chris is a stay-at-home dad for his twin sons.

The men will bring some serious BBQ skills to MKR. Aaron lists his signature dish as Smoked Brisket while Chris says his speciality is crispy pork belly, which he admits is his wife’s favourite.
