Find out more about each of the judges below.
Colin Fassnidge
Colin first joined MKR as a Kitchen HQ judge in Season 4, and remained in that position until Season 10. During that time Manu Feildel and former judge Pete Evans toured around the country with the contestants for the Instant Kitchens, and Colin joined in to judge once that was down
Colin took Pete Evans’ position as a full-time judge in Season 11 and returned again in the position in Season 13. MKR 2024 will see Colin back alongside Manu judging the series.
“Manu is my work wife,” Colin joked in an MKR press release. “We’re basically on the road for eight months of the year and we know each other like the backs of our hands. It’s good to travel with your brother; it can also be very annoying at times!”
Colin is an established restauranteur who owns Banksia and operates The Castlereagh by Fassnidge bistro at City Tattersalls Club.
MKR isn’t Colin’s only foray into reality tv; he’s appeared on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! Australia and hosted the Australian adaptation of Kitchen Nightmares.
Manu Feildel
The unofficial king of MKR, Manu has been a full-time judge since the show’s inception back in 2010.
“It’s exciting to travel around the country again because I love Australia. I love meeting contestants and trying different cuisines. I’m looking for great food every single year,” Manu said in the MKR press release.
Manu is from France and he moved to London after he finished school to pursue his love of cooking. He worked at the Cafe Royal restaurant, then moved on to other popular establishments including Les Associes, the Cafe des Amis du Vin and seafood restaurant Livebait.
In 1999, Manu relocated to Australia and he worked at a number of restaurants before opening the kitchen as head chef at hatted restaurant Bilson.
He appeared in guest roles on MasterChef Australia and Ready Steady Cook before taking up his current full time role on MKR as a judge.
With such stacked resumes between the two judges, will any of the contestants be able to impress? We’ll just have to wait and see!
My Kitchen Rules 2024 premieres on September 9 at 7:30pm on Channel 7 and 7Plus.
